Lawler introduces Ken Shamrock at ringside. Shamrock's first appearance on WWF TV. Lawler credits himself for teaching Shamrock what he knows, and Shamrock says he has no idea who Lawler is.

It's not hard to see why they kept Shamrock away from the mic as much as possible during his run.

As if the ECW invasion wasn't enough we get the debut of Shamrock and a closeup of Green Latern Fan in the crowd. Shamrock insults the King as says he doesn't know him.

I really don't like Lawler as heel WWF announcer (especially compared to his Memphis persona in 1997) but I thought he was pretty funny here with the "I trained Ken Shamrock" stuff.

Shamrock was really horrible here "I don't know you." "Who are you?" (repeat 5 times)

Lawler initially puts over Shamrock and UFC and takes credit for training Ken. Shamrock calls him a liar. Ken wasn't the best talker but I thought it was part of his charm in 98/99.

Lawler introduces a "very good friend of his," Ken Shamrock. Vince refers to him as "very controversial." Lawler is great here, throwing himself into these blatant lies with gusto. Sort of brings to mind sincerely trying to pass off that 20-something model as his "mother." "Tapping out" is uttered! Didn't think the WWF beat WCW to that. Shamrock stands nearby.

Ken Shamrock's WWF introduction. This is amusing as Lawler claims to be friends with Shamrock & brags about working out with him & teaching him submissions. My favorite part is when Lawler calls him "Kim" by accident or not & Shamrock's reaction to it. Shamrock says he doesn't know who Lawler is & calls him a liar. His amusement to all of this is pretty funny.

Lawler is usually really fun in these sorts of roles because he'll lean allllll the way into being a doofus. And this was basically what that was.
