Loss Posted July 31, 2013 Author Report Posted July 31, 2013 Last few minutes. The entire NWO (including Hogan) come out and lay out both teams. Sherri is out there and obviously has no idea what she's supposed to be doing in this segment. Lex Luger and The Giant make the save and the WCW guys clear the ring. To end the segment, Sting comes down from the rafters and stands in the ring with the WCW guys. The NWO are shocked. Great segment, and they seem to be striking a good balance of heating up the heels while keeping the babyfaces strong at this point.
soup23 Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 Stuff breaks down and it was nice to see Hogan out with the group for the beatdown. Giant and Luger are able to clean house and stand with the Steiners and Harlem Heat in the ring. We get a flash and Sting repels down with a huge pop. Hogan is spooked and both Nitro and Raw had hot segments again on this night.
Kevin Ridge Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 I did get a kick out of Savage taking a swipe at Sherri. Finally we get additional WCW guys to fight it out with NWO. Sting drops from the rafters. I loved Hogan’s over the top selling of this as when it happened at PPV a week ago he was not being too fazed by it then.
Robert S Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 "He pointed at me." They basically already sold the Starrcade main event with that segment, 9 months before the event. Maybe this feud peeked too early.
El-P Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Damn, WCW raises up its game and beat down the nWo, with Harlem Heat aligning themselves with the babyfaces. Hogan selling Sting's threat is glorious. Yeah, there was still a good sense of balance at this point, WCW finally got some momentum with Sting at their side.
PeteF3 Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 Rick seems to have recovered nicely from his hospitalization last night--and yet, Tony only focuses on the busted eardrum he received in the car accident. Weird. The NWO starts beating down all four guys, but Luger and the Giant run in to help run them off, followed by a descent from the rafters by Sting. Hogan sells all of this brilliantly--"HE'S POINTING AT ME!" Hogan vs. Sting practically sells itself at this point, but throw in that Hogan is established as being ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED of him and you've got one hot main event.
