BillThompson Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 Anyone else been having issues on the PS3? Updated it on Tuesday, and it wouldn't let me watch anything. Quote
sek69 Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 I don't really get the placeholder thing because they always work for me, though I don't use Roku or tablets or anything like that. I'm not sure why it would be different across different platforms? From what I can tell when they add categories/descriptions it seems to happen all across the board at once. The actual videos seem to load in different times based on the platform. Quote
C.S. Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 Anyone else been having issues on the PS3? Updated it on Tuesday, and it wouldn't let me watch anything. Sounds like something screwed up during the update. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Quote
MikeCampbell Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 I had issues with PTW on the Roku yesterday morning. But, then I tried again at about 5:00 PM and it queued right up. Quote

BigBadMick Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 Caught up on one of the rivalries shows - Hogan v Piper.Thought it was fine, covering 1985, 1996-7 and WM 19 quite thoroughly. Having Ambrose advocate Piper was a nice touch. Quote

Having Ambrose advocate Piper was a nice touch. I was hoping the Rivalries shows would be like the Bret/Shawn Rivalries DVD/Blu-Ray, with the two parties in the same room swapping stories - but instead it's just another documentary feature, right? Kind of disappointing, if you ask me. Quote
BigBadMick Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 Yeah, it's documentary feature. This one seemed to contain some new interviews with Hogan and Piper, as well as older clips. It was enjoyable enough - better than the HHH-Michaels or Austin-McMahon two parter, about as good as Flair v Rhodes. I've enjoyed then so far, as definitely fresher/more interesting than the Monday Night War series. Quote

shoe Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 They'd have like Mitch Williams and Joe Carter discuss and breakdown the matchups between the their teams in the World series in studio with a host. You get analysis of the games from the players themselves. Carter hit the game winner off Williams so you got them discussing that.Just like Bret and HBK except with a sport that's not predetermined. flyonthewall2983 Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 I hope they do one on Hogan-Orndorff. Quote
BigBadMick Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 I hope they do one on Hogan-Orndorff. Judging from the opening sequence, it's HHH-Rock, Rock-Austin, Cena-Rock, Undertaker-Michaels, Hogan-Savage, Edge-Hardy and Hart-Michaels left to come. It's a shame they're going over such familiar territory, but there's usually enough new interviews and behind the scenes footage to hold my attention. Quote
flyonthewall2983 Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 I imagine they'll do more at some point, or that they have more than just what's in that sequence. In other news, HBO's new OTT service will be powered by MLBAM, who of course does the same for the Network. Should be interesting how it will compare with how the Network has done, considering that will likely go in more homes in it's first couple of months than WWE's has done up to now. Quote

Should be interesting how it will compare with how the Network has done, considering that will likely go in more homes in it's first couple of months than WWE's has done up to now. Why would HBO use a different company for its new service? I had assumed it would be the exact same service as HBO Go, but I'm guessing that's not the case. Edit: The article explains that HBO Go has had outages, and they expect MLBAM to better handle the greater demand. Considering how rocky the first week of WWE Network was, and the various little problems it has experienced since then, I think HBO is in for a rude awakening with the in-over-their-heads, overrated MLBAM. With that said, I hope MLBAM copies the live channel concept from WWE Network. That would actually make a lot of sense for HBO. Quote
flyonthewall2983 Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 I hope they do too, as you said it makes a lot of sense, especially since they have multiple channels (not to mention Cinemax, which might come out as a separate app if this is as successful as we all think it might be). Their CTO has resigned since this has become public, as the "Maui" system he designed powered HBO Go, which they are likely steering away from now and the new app will take it's place. Quote
vikingsfan73 Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 I used an Amazon Fire TV Stick last night to view the PPV, and it was the best reception I've had thus far for a live event, between trying a laptop, iPad, and PS3. No buffering issues at all, and I have pretty slow internet at home. Quote
flyonthewall2983 Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Not sure if this has been covered, but their schedule runs a little smoother, and goes much longer than it used to. Right now I can see everything up to next Monday morning. Quote

We just got one of these the other day, and I tried using it last night and my picture paused about every 10 seconds using it. I ended up having to switch back to my Roku. Quote

Right now I can see everything up to next Monday morning. It's always been a week hasn't it? Or is this another laptop vs. other platforms thing? The weird thing about the schedule for me is the next day tab doesn't work, and I have to click one day ahead to get the previous day's schedule (click Tuesday for Monday's list etc.) Quote
Bix Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Speaking of the Fire TV Stick, am I doing something wrong or is the VOD FFwd/search unbearably slow compared to PS3 & PS4? Quote
JNLister Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Having already done Monday Night War episodes on the NWO and DX, they're now doing one on the Kliq. For fuck's sake. Quote

BigBadMick Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 Having already done Monday Night War episodes on the NWO and DX, they're now doing one on the Kliq. For fuck's sake. Yeah, it was remarkably familiar. I don't think you could binge-watch these, you'd go insane with the repetitions. One thing that jumped out at me - Rick Rude did not look happy in any of the DX skits and promos. Any word on whether he disliked being part of it? Quote
C.S. Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Good news for Canadians: A second cable company, Eastlink, just picked up the WWE Network. http://www.wspa.com/story/27651986/eastlink-launches-wwe-network-hd-and-breaks-200-hd-milestone Quote
