Flynn takes Goldberg down at the beginning but Bill quickly stunts that and then hooks on some shoot style arm and leg locks that I had forgotten was part of his repertoire. Flynn locks on an armbar and gets slammed down. Goldberg hits the spear and jackhammer and continues his undefeated streak with a big pop from the crowd. It is starting to become apparent that they may be on to something here with Goldberg. (1/2*)

I had forgotten or more likely just never realized how over Goldberg was at this stage of things. Flynn was always a good opponent for Goldberg because he could some courtesy arm bars and take down sequences with Goldberg before the usual finish. Goldberg was way ahead of his time with the shoot style influenced spots as far as the major US promotions went.

Flynn got to hang a bit with Goldberg on the ground. When it got standing he fired off a few kicks but was done in by Goldberg’s power stuff. Big pop from crowd. Goldberg's style was perfect for TV.

Flynn gets a couple sequences in where his kicks thwart Goldberg for a couple seconds before Goldberg brings the big power moves. Pretty enjoyable squash with the different holds being worked.

Now this was an awesome squash. Goldberg gets to do his faux MMA stuff and has an opponent that can go with him on that level. I loved this.

Huge pop for Goldberg who's looking more and more like a future superstar. This is an absolutely awesome 2-minute UWFI match with Goldberg doing all kinds of cool shooty takedowns, making him look all the more badass.

Short and convincing which is the best you can hope for with Goldberg at this stage. The faux MMA stuff really exposes Goldberg who should stick to power moves. It's as if he took one BJJ class and decided he was competent. Spear and Jackhammer ends it, which is all the people really want.

 

RATING: Almost as exposing as Regal will make Goldberg look next month.

This was a great squash! The armbar reversal into a power bomb is a pretty normal spot but Goldberg had some great aggressiveness with it and holy fuck he was already over.

I LOVE this. As noted -- just an awesome squash.  I loved the element that Flynn brought to it.  Goldberg's charisma here is off the charts!
