Childs
Finally signed up. First match I watched was Harley vs. Andre--very cool to see Andre work as an old-school NWA title challenger. This service is a wonderful addition to our little world.
Matt D
I love how smoothly Andre slipped into that role. We had some idea that he could from some of the early 70s 2/3 fall matches in Japan but this was so blatant. A NWA title match from that era really brings forth a certain style and on paper, he's not a guy that you think would do that, and he absolutely did, while putting his own spin on it. Andre's awesome. For a guy who could have just coasted on his size, he was so good.
BruceTharpe
Andre in the early days was something amazing to see. I remember the first time I saw in Tampa at the Ft. Homer Hesterly Armory - it must have been 1974. He was amazing as he emerged from the dressing room and waded through that standing room only crowd. It's a memory that I will never forget. goc
The worst thing about NWAClassics.com is the video quality is so good that it's spoiling me. I'm finding it harder and harder to watch some of the crappy VQ stuff I have in my collection which is causing my Southeastern thread to lie dormant. goc
Newest upload is Wahoo McDaniel(s) facing off against the masked Ichiban which wrestlingdata.com says is Killer Karl Krupp. No idea why fake German Krupp was wrestling under a mask with a fake Japanese wrestler gimmick but wrestling is an odd beast sometimes. He may be the only person to ever play both a fake German and a fake Japanese wrestler.

goc
Wrestlingdata.com has the card results. http://wrestlingdata.com/index.php?befehl=shows&show=215915 and if we get the whole show we're in for a really awesome main event. Coloso Colosetti vs Reggie ParksMando Guerrero vs. White KnightTiger Conway Jr.vs Gama SinghAl Madril vs. White KnightWahoo McDaniel vs Ichiban #12 out of 3 Falls Match: Mark Lewin vs. Dusty Rhodes2 out of 3 Falls Hair vs. Hair Match: José Lothario vs. Gino Hernández  If you don't "get" why I would call Jose Lothario vs. Gino an awesome main event then you need to drop the $8.99 and subscribe and find out why. The more footage we get of both guys the more I come to realize they are both way better than their reputations.

goc
Â The worst thing about NWAClassics.com is the video quality is so good that it's spoiling me. I'm finding it harder and harder to watch some of the crappy VQ stuff I have in my collection which is causing my Southeastern thread to lie dormant. The actual (only?) worst thing continues to be the wacky "stereo" audio. Â I haven't really noticed any more of that since the first batch of uploads. BruceTharpe
We are working on the audio. And if you noticed we have been uploading many matches with just ambient crowd noise - for a couple of reasons. One - we have been requested to include matches without commentary - so you get that big arena feel. Secondly - we are currently in talks with a major personality to provide voiceovers for most - if not all of the matches that need commentary. IF we can put this deal together it will be huge for the NWA. Â Agreed that the GINO HERNANDEZ - JOSE LOTHARIO matches are amazing. Lothario's matches against the Guerrero's (with different partners) are all great. And Gino's matches - against anyone - appear to be instant classics. Remember - we have over 1000 matches left to be discovered / transferred / uploaded - and we have TONS of GINO HERNANDEZ - JOSE LOTHARIO matches for you on NWAClassics.com. I am actually anxious to get them all uploaded so we can organize them - but it all takes time and patience. I'm sure you guys would prefer that we continue to add matches to the library - then worry about organization later. Actually - that's going to be the fun part - and you guys are helping out a lot. Â One last thing. We don't like the word FAKE . . .
goc
Sorry Bruce but "scripted" German Killer Karl Krupp doesn't really work the same  And I know it's not for everyone but I really love watching matches without commentary. Especially when you have crowds that were as hot as the Houston crowds usually were. But if the person you are talking about trying to get for commentary is who I think it is then I think it will lead to some really cool things. shoe
For me I love the daily match update. I check the site, and your twitter. The majority of matches I haven't seen before. When it comes to territorial wrestling I'm a guy who's watched his fair share. The majority of these matches haven't been seen. Houston is an amazing wrestling town and I have a lot of great memories. So far their is one card I was at. I know their will be more to come. This is the most exciting thing to come out in ages. Not all the matches are amazing, but I'd say 90% of them range from solid to amazing. It's wrestling, we're going to get some stinkers. Plus this footage proves Jose Lothario was awesome. Gino Hernandez was a prodigy. Thanks for getting this service out. Â Â On a sidenote. I'm sure subscriptions went up during Charlotte fanfest. Hopefully they'll have a Houston Wrestling Convention or Mid-South Wrestling convention around mania time or seperately. It would be a great word of mouth thing like the fanfest was. Wade Garrett
With College Football season here i'm gonna have to hold off until early December. This is the time of year I make my investments. Â Come December though I'm on board. Â And goc please keep doing your Southeast thread. It's great stuff that should be read by everyone who has no clue about how fuckin great GCCW/SECW/CCW/CWF was.

Childs
The Fans-Midnights match was spectacular. Those were about as good a shine and FIP as you could pack into 15-17 minutes, and the crowd was batshit for it. Feels like that match would've been a top 10 contender on the Watts DVDVR set, and that's saying something.

Childs
I definitely think it's the best Eaton/Condrey vs. Fans. It's been a long time since I've watched the most pimped Eaton/Lane vs. Fans matches. But my sense is this is right on par with those if not better. Matt D
Watched the Gordman match. I like him a lot, especially on offense (though the trap hold went a bit long/uninterestingly). How crazy were the two STOs? And then there's the DDT. Not at all a fluke. He did it in the 60s black and white footage i saw with Santo. He did it in the 77 match with Choshu/Inoki and he did it here and Boesch even pointed out it was one of his favorite holds. Roberts was in and out of Houston at this time. That whole story is debunked now. It wasn't some sort of accident that caught on. I know all wrestling is BS but that's especially so. BruceTharpe
I love it. We post a BLACK GORDMAN - BUDDY MORENO match and inadvertently disprove one of wrestling's greatest fables - how the DDT was invented! Just another example of how this project has become a true preservation of wrestling history. Not by telling you about the way it was - but showing you the way it was - so you can see it with your own eyes. Andre bodyslammed by Harley way before Hogan ever did. Black Gordman using the DDT way before Jake ever did. Wrestling history - enjoy it!

After watching the Mexican Death cage match, and seeing how great Lothario and Gino have been in other matches, I think that might be an all time great feud. Tim Cooke
Are there broken links for some matches? Clicking on Fantastics vs. Dundee/Mantel brings you to a six man with Fantastics/Duggan vs. MX/someone else? A couple of Gino Hernandez links just don't bring you anywhere.
