I like to see the definition of a Territory here with Southeastern. I feel like you hold true to the Territory feel while some others try to get a little big for their britches, myself mostly. The Fullers, Golden, and Dirty Dutch against Bullet Bob and a host of other home grown stars. I would honestly like to see what Bobby Eaton would look like growing up through this promotion as a premiere babyface to go against some of these heels and bleeding all over the place to get over and find a way to come out on top. Keep doin work.

SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TV

Saturday 17th September 1983

Taped in front of a live studio audience at the WTVY Television Studio in Dothan, AL

Hosted by Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart

The opening credits roll and we pan to Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart at the announcer’s desk where we get introduced to another week of great wrestling action. Charlie Platt infos the fans before we start with any action, we have to address Bob Armstrong’s actions last week. As you know neither Bob nor Dutch Mantell can be at the television studio at the same time, last week Bob Armstrong broke this rule as he turned up at the WTVY studio and attacked Dutch Mantell, whether right or wrong, he must now pay a penalty fine of $1500. But on the back of this, the championship committee are fully aware of the issues surround his return and that’s why this week in Birmingham, there will be a “Loser Leaves Town For 90 Days Steel Cage Match” for the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship when “Bullet” Bob Armstrong faces of with champion “Dirty” Dutch Mantell, but not only that The Flame will be handcuffed to the returning Brad Armstrong to make there is no outside interference. If that wasn’t enough, the Southeastern Tag Team Titles will be up for grabs in a “Loser Leaves Town Forever” when champions Tim Horner and Ricky Gibson face of with the Assassins. We will hear from both teams later on in the show.

=== Advert ===

We return with the team that pushed the Fabulous Ones to the limit this past week, Bobby Eaton and Tom Pritchard defeat the team of Mike Jackson and Gene Ligon in 5 minutes following a Top Rope Elbow Drop from Pritchard to Ligon. After the match the upstart team say they made a statement in Birmingham last Monday and they will be doing the same this week.

=== Advert ===

We are back with the Southeastern Tag Team Champions Ricky Gibson, Tim Horner and their manager Jim Cornette. The champs talk about how they aren’t liking Cornette recent displays of cheating, even though they know he means well, it just isn’t how they want to win matches. So for the loser leaves town match on Monday night, they don’t want any distractions. Jim Cornette tries to argue his case, but the champs aren’t having any of it they are set on retaining the titles and sending the Assassins packing.

=== Run down of this weeks action in Dothan, Penscola, Birmingham and Mobile ===

Larry Hamilton “Wildfire” Tommy and Johnny Rich defeat the team of The Masked Medics and The Moondog with Paul Jones in 6 minutes when Larry Hamilton hits a Running Powerslam on Medic #1 followed by the pin. After the match the winning team talk to Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart about this past week’s defeat to the Studd Stable in the best of 3 series. They challenge the Studd Stable to a Birmingham Street Fight this Monday night, with this The Studd Stable stroll out to the announcers desk and after exchanging a few words they say they will accept the match but only if its elimination rules. The Rich’s and Hamilton accept, “Wildfire” tells the Studd’s hes going to end this on Monday and then move onto the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship much to the delight of the fans.

=== Advert ===

The Assassin’s with Paul Jones defeat Art Crews and Josh Stroud in 6 minutes when The Assassins hit a double splash on Stroud, this was your typical squash from The Assassins who again prove they aren’t to be messed with, will this Monday be the last for The Assassins in Birmingham? Paul Jones and The Assassins join Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart, where he assures his team will come out victorious and if they don’t he will also leave the area and disband his Army.

=== Run down of this week’s action in Dothan, Penscola, Birmingham and Mobile ===

Before we go to the TV Title main event, we are joined but “Bullet” Bob Armstrong. Bob says that never has one man got under his skin as much as Dutch Mantell has, never has one man made it so personal that 2 of his sons have been badly attacked by him. Monday one way or another the rivalry will come to an end, and he promises that will be here next week.

Bob Armstrong gets in the ring for his match teaming with his son Scott Armstrong, this week they are up against The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne). The Nigthmare’s have been impressing as of late but the experience of Bob Armstrong may be too much for them this week. Bob and Scott pick up the DQ victory in 9 minutes when The Flame comes from the back and attacks Bob Armstrong before the locker room empties to split the pair apart.

=== Advert ===

Back with Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart who show highlights of this weeks massive show from Birmingham, with video clips of The Fabulous Ones Vs Eaton and Pritchard, “Bullet” Bob Armstrong battle with The Flame and the NWA World Champion Harley Race defeating “Dirty” Dutch Mantell. Charlie Platt also informs the fans that a special 1 hour Southeastern Showcase will aired on WTBS out of Georgia.

Today’s main event will be for the Southeastern Television Champion as champion “Professor” Bill Ash defends his title against Charlie Cook. Charlie Cook had to win a 4 man tournament to get his shot even defeating Bill Ash stable mate The Moondog. Champion Ash as also is joined by Paul Jones. Throughout the match Paul Jones tries to interject on several occasions but Charlie Cook is too wise to the antics and after 9 minutes hits his Running Football Tackle on Ash and gets the 3 count 10 seconds before the time limit to win the title. Lots of good stuff here, interested to see what happens with The Flame and his doppelgangers. Enjoyed seeing The Fabs make an appearance and Charlie Cook is looking really strong since his arrival to the area. Should be interesting to see if Dutch actually leaves or comes back under a mask.

SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TV

Saturday 24th September 1983

Taped in front of a live studio audience at the WTVY Television Studio in Dothan, AL

Hosted by Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart

Before we go to the studio we go to the dying moments of “Loser Leaves Town For 90 Days” match between Southeastern Heavyweight Champion “Dirty” Dutch Mantell and “Bullet” Bob Armstrong.

[ "Bullet" Bob got the win following a Jaw Breaker on Dutch at the 15 minute mark, following a bloody brawl, following the pin. After the match Brad and Scott joined there father in the ring to celebrate. Then from the back two unknown wrestlers dressed similar to The Flame get in the ring along with The Flame while Dutch rolls out. The Flame and the unknown men attack the Armstrong's, some wrestlers come from the back to try and break up this attack but it looks as if "Dirty" Dutch lives up to his name and has locked the cage door. The attack continues until someone breaks the lock and the 3 attackers climb out of the cage and flee to the back while the Armstrong's are beaten down.]

The credits roll and we go to Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart who welcome the fans to today’s show. Today in action we will see new Television Champion Charlie Cook defend his title against Nightmare Ken Wayne, Jim Cornette’s new team The Heavenly Bodies up against Josh Stroud and Gene Ligon and Brad and Scott Armstrong will be our main event against The Moondog and Ted Allen.

At this point Southeastern Heavyweight Champion “Bullet” Bob and his two sons Brad and Scott Armstrong come to the announcers table. “Bullet” Bob says that he told everyone that he would win back the Southeastern title and send Dutch Mantell packing for 90 days and he’s over the moon to have done that for the Southeastern fans. He’s also glad his son Brad has returned to Alabama, but unfortunately someone had to sour that moment on Monday, and that was The Flame, but on Monday night put right as Brad will be taking on The Flame one on one and I know he can get the win and put The Flame out. He would also like to challenge the two charges that helped The Flame in their attack on him and his sons, he doesn’t know who they are but on Monday night he will team with Scott to tag on the unknown two wrestlers.

=== Advert ===

Jim Cornette who turned his back on Ricky Gibson and Tim Horner on Monday night and introduced his new team to the fans, is standing in the middle of the ring with the ring announcers microphone, he introduces his new team “Doctor of Desire” Tom Pritchard and “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton, The Heavenly Bodies. The newly named Heavenly Bodies are taking on Josh Stroud and Gene Ligon. The impressive Heavenly Bodies make light work of their opponents and Pritchard hits a second rope elbow drop on Stroud while Eaton has him in the back breaker position. The win came after 6 minutes of action. After the match Jim Cornette and his new team came to the announcer’s desk, Cornette sets out his stall by challenging the Southeastern Tag Team Champions Ricky Gibson and Tim Horner, he says he has the team of the future and they want the titles and their going to take them.

=== Advert ===

Next up new Television Champion Charlie Cook takes on Nightmare Ken Wayne. This contest has a ten minute limit for the title changing hands and 15 minutes for the match. This is a very even match and the end comes when Ken Wayne misses as running smash in the corner but Cook moves and runs the ropes and hits a Football Tackle followed by the pin at 7 minutes to retain the title.

=== Run down of this weeks action in Dothan, Pensacola, Birmingham and Mobile ===

After the break we have the Studd Stable who have joined Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart. Jimmy Golden has a bag in his hand which he puts on the table and the Stable are talk about last Monday’s victory over Tommy and Johnny Rich and Larry Hamilton. Intrigued by what’s in the bag, Charlie Platt asks Golden what’s is the bag, Golden says he glad someone asked. He pulls a pair of wrestling boots out of the bag, Ron Fuller explains that when a wrestler retires or in this case is forced to retire, these boots are the boots of a former wrestler by the name of Larry Hamilton, and after his partner hung him out to dry, he has had to retire, Robert jumps in and says or maybe it was the Spike Piledriver he received as they all snigger, “no, no my brother Robert it was because Tommy and Johnny couldn’t handle us.” Jimmy goes on to say that this Monday its Johnny time to retire as he wants him one on one to finally put him away, Robert says if Jimmy gets Johnny, he wants the chance to retire Tommy, and if he retires Tommy, then they want to go after the Southeastern Tag Team Titles held by Ricky Gibson and Tim Horner. Jimmy Golden makes his way to the ring where he defeats Art Crews in 6 minutes following a Piledriver.

=== Advert ===

The Flame and his two new partners join Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart for an introduction. The Flame says he would like to introduce his back up, with Dutch Mantell gone for the next 90 days, he needed to call in reinforcements to watch his back. He would like to introduce Fire and Torch and on Monday night they will prove they aren’t just here to back me up but to make a statement. Fire makes his way to the ring and makes light work of Mike Jackson and finishes him off in 4 minutes following a Samoan Drop.

=== Run down of this week’s action in Dothan, Pensacola, Birmingham and Mobile ===

We are now joined by the cousin duo of “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and Johnny Rich, “Wildfire” tells Charlie Platt that its time that this issue with The Studd Stable comes to a head, after this Monday he vows to end this rivalry. Johnny says that he sends his well wishes to Larry who is laid up in hospital, and that Larry thanks all the fans get well wishes and he promises to make it back, and this Monday along with his cousin Tommy will punish the Studd Stable for that they have done. Johnny makes his way to the ring where he defeats Tony Falk in 4 minutes with a Flying Cross Body.

=== Advert ===

Today’s main event sees Brad and Scott Armstrong defeating The Moondog and Ted Allen in 7 minutes with “Bullet” Bob Armstrong in their corner, although the first time on TV teaming together, The Armstrong boys certainly look like they had been teaming for years. The victory came when Scott Armstrong hits a Superkick on Ted Allen followed by the pin.

Southeastern is one of the strongest territories out there, and it looks to get even more awesome as it's tendrils advance into Georgia, Florida, and the rest of the Southeast.

I'll be honest, I was expecting Cornette to screw over his team and align with The Assassin's somehow, but I guess bringing in the proto-Midnight Express/Heavenly Bodies is an even better way, and will hotshot the Bodies Express straight to the top of the tag team division.

Mantell being gone for a bit is a good thing, and the Flame + Friends vs. Armstrong's is a good way to fill time until then, especially with the mystery of who is underneath the masks.
