Almost through the WWF segment, when was Sid's car wreck? Right after this? I thought the injuries from that and how it was more serious than they initially thought contributed to how he missed so much of 1997 WWF. (edit: just checked, the car wreck was later in June.) Before that I think Sid had some back injury, but not sure how serious that was vs. one of those injuries he played up for softball or whatever.

Couldn't Vince have put the title on Vader in 1996, if he wanted to punish Shawn, and then put the world title on his new top babyface, possibly a returning Bret, at either Survivor Series or the Rumble?

I love the show and listen every week...but I think, maybe, after hearing it 5 or 6 times in the first segment and the first story of the NJPW segment, it's time we put a moratorium on the dramatic trumpet soundbite. Let's see if we can get through a whole show without it, at least.

I agree with Pete. I'm listening to episode 43 now, covering May 10-16, 1990, and the repeated use of that drop gets old quick, similar to the Marc Gullen "totally awesome" one on the 6:05 podcast.

I love the concepts of these shows and they're incredibly informative, but the playing of drops and sound bites over someone talking is an annoying distraction, as is talking/laughing over clips.

With all the pot shots at Meltzer's writing, it sure seems like Bix is slowly morphing into Meltzer; right down to the laugh, cadence of speech, and relentless over explaining.

That's just a Jewish thing.

And they're not shots at Dave. It's a "look at how of its time this is" thing.

Great show as usual fellas. Appreciated the Night Court shout out - was one of my favorite shows as a kid. Fun fact you probably already knew - Night Court and Barney Miller having similar theme songs by the same composer isn't a coincidence, Night Court's creator was Reinhold Weege, who was a writer/producer on Barney Miller. Night Court was way wackier, but they're pretty setting, with a diverse group of people working together in a grungy New York justice system.

It's a lot to keep track of. I just thought it was funny since it's something I learned from you guys. Speaking of Night Court, did people catch on the Gerwitz episode of the Jericho podcast and his Wrestler's court story that they actually used Kane as the bailiff? Had we known that before? Because that's amazing.
