C.S.
What the hell are Maria and Mike Kanellis supposed to be?
WingedEagle
There will likely come a day when the Fashion Police segments are unbearable TV and I find them awful. But we're not there. And I LOVE it. Great comedy and timing from everyone. The Kanellis bit? Pass.
El Dragon
I grade Mike and Maria a solid 7/10 on the "midcard comedy gimmick" scale.
The Chief
That theme song is next level stuff.
hammerva
That entrance music is going to be used by some mark's wedding in the next 6 months. Followed probably by Glorious
WingedEagle
Wow. We getting a 2+ hour PPV?
El Dragon
Wow. We getting a 2+ hour PPV? 3 matches left, decent chance the MITB goes 25-30.
hammerva
Wait a minute Greg Gagne is a St.Louis wrestling legend? Funny that they actually used that International title as something. Wasn't that from the dead days of the AWA
...TG
Kind of odd that AWA mainstays Greg Gagne, Baron Von Raschke, and Larry "The Axe" Hennig are being introduced as "St. Louis Legends". Unless they live in the area now or something? Anyway, it was a very nice thing to do.
Sean Liska
Orton fighting for the honor of Wrestling at the Chase, I love it, maybe the only way you could get me into this match.
Jimmy Redman
I think they're happy to use "St Louis" as a synonym for "old timey wrasslin'" thinking nobody will know the difference. So I haven't seen a single thing Maria has done since leaving WWE, so to go from that to coming out here doing this lame heel promo is super weird. Are they supposed to be good? Bennett has always seemed like the blandest wrestler on earth to me. I feel like they'll come off as a second rate Miz and Maryse here. Does Maria wrestle? I like how happy Orton was to be over for once.
C.S.
If someone told me Maria came out with Heath Slater, I would've believed them.
WingedEagle
By all rights this is a very solidly laid out and well executed title match. I just don't find Orton or Mahal very interesting and its completely sapping any excitement the work might otherwise generate.
hammerva
Well I don't know if I would say that Mike and Maria were really good in TNA but they definitely got good heat because they dominated the program for a good year. As just another piece of the cog I can't see them doing much. Especially Mike who is on the same level wrestling wise as a Tye Dillinger
Strummer
Maria played a "wicked stepmother" type gimmick in TNA that got some praise for those that actually watch TNA. Suffice to say I don't believe she will be playing the "ditsy" gimmick she used from 04-10. Can't believe she's been in the business over 13 years now
Jimmy Redman
The idea of Jinder being able to survive an RKO, even with two goons helping him, is so ridiculous to me so as to ruin all my suspension of disbelief.
hammerva
I like that all the legends are crapping on the Singh brothers except the guy who played a foreign heel for decades. At least he gets it Well Orton didn't kill those boys as bad as the last time but wasn't that pretty either.
Strummer
Now a bunch of wrestlers complaining about the women's match online. Angle alert. They are clearly going to do a rematch
Jimmy Redman
They might want to do another girls MITB on TV where more people will see it. Well that was a piece of shit.
...TG
Randy is bound and determined to cripple at least one of the Singh brothers.
NintendoLogic
I kind of like that the Singh Brothers are there primarily to get dropped on their heads by Orton.
hammerva
You know American Alpha is dead when they are doing PPV storylines for the Ascension
Jimmy Redman
Randy Orton on Twitter: drags Indy wrestlers who take crazy uneccesary risks. Randy Orton on SD: Gets all his heat by recklessly throwing Indy wrestlers on top of their heads.
hammerva
Oh man if they don't even put Nakamura in the fucking match
WingedEagle
The booking on this show makes Extreme Rules look like Slamboree '97 with Flair & co. going over the NWO at home.
