spaldoni
MACW @ The Civic Center Greenwood, NC Special Live show 3-2-86 Schiavone: Hello again everybody and welcome to a live edition of Mid Atlantic Championship wrestling. My partner David Crockett is in Louisiana as he attended the Crockett Cup tournament yesterday. First off, I want to congratulate the Midnight Express on winning the Crockett Cup, 1 million dollars and the NWA National tag team titles. David told me it was an outstanding night of action and said Bill Watts did an impeccable job with the event. There's a big stir in the crowd as JJ Dillon leads out the four horsemen. They're all dressed up as Flair has the US title on his shoulder and the Andersons are wearing their NWA tag title belts. JJ: The first thing you should of mentioned Schiavone was the historic night the horsemen had at Battle of the Belts. We don't take a back seat to anyone, got it! Ric Flair soundly defeated Magnum TA to win the US title. The Andersons beat up the Road Warriors to successfully defend their titles then finished the job yesterday at the Crockett Cup and Tully here finally gave Michael Hayes his comeuppance. The 4 Horsemen are riding high, now sit back and keep your mouth shut Schiavone because Ric Flair has a huge announcement. Schiavone smiles, shrugs and nods. Flair: Whoooo! The question everybody has is what's causing all this? I'll tell you, it's the 4 Horsemen brother. I mean just look at us, are we styl'n or what? Now that sore loser Magnum TA shot off his mouth and issued a challenge. 10 man tag match on March 11th at the Omni. Oh Magnum you should of just licked your wounds and headed to a safe haven. Right now is the moment everybody has been waiting for. Who will be the Horsemen's partner? Tully, Ole, Arn, I told you this man can ride with the Horsemen, let me tell you, not only can he party like a horsemen but this guy gets the job done in the ring horsemen style. You boys remember when I was in Puerto Rico? Ha Ha, let me introduce you to our partner, the one and only Chicky Starr! Schiavone: Oh my, I cant believe it! Chicky comes out in a suit and sunglasses and all smiles. Ric shakes his hand and hugs him then introduces him to JJ, Tully and the Andersons. They all shake hands, smile and pat Chicky on the back. Ric: Wait a minute! Boys, do you know Chicky here has his own segment on TV? It's called the Sports Shop. Oh man lets make this historic. Chicky would you host a impromptu Sports Shop? Here and now? Chicky: For an important moment like this and for important people like the 4 Horsemen, it would be my pleasure. Flair: Whoo! Schiavone, take a hike! Flair gives Chicky, Schiavone's mic. Chicky: Gracias Ric, it is my pleasure to be standing here with an elite group such as the 4 Horsemen. It's great to meet all of you and I'm sure we will get to know each other a lot better when Ric takes us out on the town tonight. I want to say if any of you are ever in Puerto Rico, I will drop any guest I have and you can come on my show. Then later we will party like I know you all can. They all laugh and nod. Chicky: It will be my privilege to team with you and to beat up a dirty low life like that Magnum TA. You guys and me go so well together. The Andersons are fighting tag team champions just like my cousin Ron and I. Tully is great in ring worker just like me. Just like me, you guys like the fine clothes, the jewelry and all the money. And just like me, you guys like to have titles and take care of business in the ring. Ric, you made this all possible and I cant wait to team up with the 4 Horsemen. I don't care who that Magnum gets as his partners. They cannot stop all of this greatness. What do you guys think? Tully: (smiling) I like you. Ric, you've outdone yourself. You couldn't of picked a better partner. I like the way you talk and the way you strut and the way you dress. You've got horsemen written all over you. Ole: You're something else alright, if you can back up that talk then you're ok in my book. Arn: You think like a horsemen and I can tell you're elite and confident. That's what being a horsemen is all about. Come March 11th it's gut check time and Magnum is severely lacking in that department. Chicky, you on the other hand seem to be full of guts. Welcome. Chicky: Gracias amigos, I wont let you down, count on that. Ric, take us out. Ric: Whoo! Magnum, you see this group? No matter who you get, it wont be nearly enough. Boys, Chicky, time to hit the bars and they're staying open all night for us. Whoooooo! Commercial Break Schiavone: That was something else. A bombshell announcement as Chicky Starr will team with the Horsemen. Now, listen to this, Magnum TA will announce his partners at the end of the program. Stay tuned for that. Lets go to the ring. Tony St. Clair vs. Vic DeMarco Tony looks sharp in his television debut as he back drops Vic then follows with a heel first drop kick. Tony gets up on the top rope. Vic staggers to his feet and Tony hits a cross body block for the pin! Tony acknowledges the cheers then heads to the podium. Schiavone: Very impressive television debut for Tony St. Clair. Tony, let me officially welcome you to Mid Atlantic wrestling. You got the pin at Battle of the Belts but it seems that Billy Robinson still has some issues with you. Tony: First of all, I'm so happy to have finally arrived to this great country. It's been a dream of mine for a long time and I'm looking forward to wrestling the great competition here in Mid Atlantic. Now I still don't know what Billy's issues are with me as I've always respected him. Now its come to a point where enough is enough and its time we settle this thing in the ring. I've requested a rematch and it was granted. We're not done yet Billy and you'll be seeing me again on March 11th at the Omni. Schiavone: Ok there you have it, the rematch is set. Fans, back to the ring. Spike Huber vs. Carl Hillman Huber takes off his construction helmet and Charlotte O's tank top then gets down to business. Huber takes Carl over with a series of arm drags and dropkicks. Huber swings Carl to the ropes and hits the powerslam for the pin! Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans, with me right now is the Assassin along with his tag team, the Assassins. Assassin: Tony Schiavone, the havoc has begun and people will soon see what this devastating team is all about. The future of wrestling is standing right here and they're going to the ring right now to show you just what I'm talking about. Assassins w/The Assassin vs. Aaron Arbuckle and Lloyd London The Assassins just manhandle their opponents with body slams, punches, chokes and stomps. Assassin 1 picks up Arbuckle in a bear hug then slams him back, head first on the turnbuckle. Assassin 1 tags in 2. Assassin 2 jumps off the top rope with a knee drop and gets the pin! Schiavone: Impressive win for the Assassins. Speaking of impressive, my guest right now is Mid Atlantic Champ, Harley Race. Harley you successfully defended that title against Wahoo McDaniel at the Battle of the Belts but then you got involved in the NWA world title bout. Now, its been signed, you will face Rick Martel on March 11th at the Omni for the world title. It looks like you got what you wanted. Harley: I'll get what I want on March 11th, Schiavone. Rick Martel has been ducking me for months but not any more. All I did at Battle of the Belts was send him a message. I know you got that message Martel. Harley Race was standing right there, looking down at you, letting you know I'm coming for you. You thought Terry Gordy was tough, just wait until March 11th at the Omni. You will see what tough is all about. Schiavone: Ok strong words from Harley Race, fans when we come back Rocky Johnson takes on Bob Roop. These two have been going at it so it should be quite the fight. Commercial Break Rocky Johnson vs. Bob Roop Roop charges Johnson before the bell rings but Johnson blocks his punches, shuffles his feet and hits Roop with a series of punches. Johnson body slams Roop, jumps up and hits a standing leg drop. Roop kicks out of the pin attempt. Roop takes control with an eye gouge and rake. Roop slams Johnson down then chokes him with his boot. The Ref tries to get Roop to break but Roop pushes him down. The bell rings and Roop is disqualified. Roop continues choking Johnson. Roop falls back against the ropes and Johnson follows with another drop kick, knocking Roop out of the ring! The crowd is going wild as Johnson holds up his fists. Schiavone: Oh my that was a wild one and looks like their feud is far from over. Fans joining me right now is Rock Riddle and his Agency. Riddle leads out Tom Prichard and the Fabulous Blondes. Riddle: Tony, I'm out here to TCB baby. Take care of business. Now you saw that B level team, Nightmares didn't even make it out of the first round of the Crockett Cup. If my Blondes were in there, they would be a million dollars richer right now! We want the Nightmares and we want a title shot! Now the Doctor of Desire has something to say. Tom: Thanks Rock, Terry Taylor, boy, you got a fluke win over me at Battle of the Belts. I had the match won until that dumb timekeeper messed everything up. I deserve another shot and everybody knows it. So here's the deal. You and me, March 11th at the Omni and if I don't win the TV title then I'll leave Mid Atlantic for good. I'm putting it all out there and all you have to do is put up that TV title. Are you man enough Taylor? Riddle: The Agency wants answers Schiavone. You hear me? The Blondes want the Nightmares and Tom here wants Taylor. The Agency gets what we want. Commercial Break 'Wildcat' Wendell Cooley vs. Tim Straw Cooley swings Straw to the ropes and nails him with a back elbow then follows with an elbow drop. Paul Jones comes out and is scouting the match. Cooley picks up Straw, hoists him over his shoulder then hits the Oklahoma Stampede for the pin. Johnny Rich w/Paul Jones vs. Steve Ramsey Rich and Jones smile at Wendell Cooley and let him by as they head to the ring. Rich hits Ramsey with a running knee, Rich hops up on the 2nd turnbuckle, jumps off and lands a fist drop for the pin. The fans boo as they head to the podium. Schiavone: Ok, solid win for your man Johnny Rich. Now, Mr. Jones it looks like Brett Sawyer and Hot Property have an alliance. I think maybe your man Johnny Rich and the Devil's Duo should be a little worried. Rich: Hold on there Schiavone. Worried? Why? I've already beaten up that Sawyer and do you really think those two pretty boys are a match for the Devil's Duo? Jones: That's right Johnny. The Devil's Duo are the toughest tag team in Mid Atlantic and they cant wait to mess up the faces of those two pretty boys. As for Sawyer, I guess he just loves getting whipped again and again by Johnny. He must love punishment. Schiavone: Well I guess so because I've been informed that on March 11th, your man here will face Brett Sawyer in an anything goes Alley Fight. Jones and Rich are livid. Jones: Johnny Rich should be getting a title shot! He's already beaten Sawyer from one arena to the other. Ok Johnny, I guess on March 11th you will just have to finish the job once and for all. Rich: I can guarantee you that Paul! Schiavone: Fans, you wont want to miss that card at the Omni. In addition to everything you heard tonight, Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff takes on Bruiser Brody in a block buster match up. Also on the card Mil Mascaras takes on the Cobra. March 11th at the Omni, Be there! When we come back Pedro Morales clashes with David Sammartino. Commercial Break Pedro Morales vs. 'The Great One' David Sammartino David spent most of the early moments running from Pedro. When Pedro finally caught him, he unleashed a flurry of punches. Pedro swings David to the ropes and punches him in the stomach which flips David over. Pedro continues to dominate as he back drops David then body slams him. David tries to run out of the ring but Pedro pushes him into the ropes and rolls him up but David carries the momentum and rolls Pedro over, grabs a handful of tights and gets the pin! The fans boo as David exits the ring and jumps up and down in excitement. Commercial Break Schiavone: Before he goes to the ring, my guest with me is the TV champion, Terry Taylor. Well, Terry you heard the challenge by Tom Prichard. Your TV title or he leaves Mid Atlantic. Taylor: Tony, I told you I was going to be a fighting champion and answer all challenges. Tom, I beat you at battle of the belts and I'll beat you on March 11th at the Omni. Yes, I accept! TV Champ Terry Taylor vs. Tim Straw Taylor hits the jaw breaker on Straw then hoists him up and falls back with a vertical suplex. Taylor hits a knee drop from the 2nd turnbuckle and gets the pin! Taylor holds up his TV title to the cheering crowd. The Fabulous Blondes nail Taylor from behind then double body slam him. Tom Prichard climbs up on the top rope and hits Taylor with a diving splash! Riddle kicks Taylor then holds up Prichard's arm to the booing crowd. Commercial Break Schiavone: Ok fans, Terry Taylor was helped out by officials. Another cowardly act by Rock Riddle and his Agency. I'm sure Taylor would love to send Prichard packing. Fans, I want to show you a video of a man who will be making his Mid Atlantic television debut in the near future. Lets take a look at Austin Idol. A video is shown of Austin Idol in ring clips to the song of 'Do you want to touch me' by Joan Jett. Schiavone: Mid Atlantic is excited to have Austin Idol arriving soon. Fans when we come back we will hear from Magnum TA and I'm sure he has some big announcements. Commercial Break Schiavone: At this time please welcome out Magnum TA. The fans roar as Magnum comes out limping a bit. He waves to the fans. Schiavone: Magnum, great to have you and looks like your doing a lot better. I understand you just arrived and have some very big news concerning the big 10 man tag team match at the Omni. Magnum: Tony, I'm feeling a lot better. I told all these people I wouldn't come out and cry about losing my US title and I wont. I would like to say that I gave 100% every time I stepped into the ring to defend that prestigious title. As for right now, I owe the 4 horsemen some serious payback for that parking lot attack and Tony, it looks like I'm going to get it. JJ Dillon, the worm that he is managed to get out of the match. Ric Flair thinks he put me in checkmate by going to Puerto Rico and picking up Chicky Starr. Well Flair, I have an ace up my sleeve. I just got off the phone with somebody who would love to be on my team. Matter of fact he would love to go at it with Chicky Starr because they go way back. The man teaming with me is connected right now on satellite, he is the Universal champion, Carlos Colon! Colon: (via satellite with a big smile) When Magnum called me and told me Chicky Starr came to town and is teaming with the horsemen, I gave him a yes before he had to ask. Oh Chicky, it will be a lot of fun to fight you over in the States. Chicky, Flair, we have unfinished business. Magnum: (smiling) You like that Chicky? If anyone's got your number it's Carlos Colon. You know something Tony, it turns out the horsemen have a lot of enemies. Which brings me to my next partners. Ole and Arn, you know them well. We got them on satellite, the UWF tag team champs, the Road Warriors! Animal: Andersons! You cost us the Crockett Cup! Magnum has given us this golden opportunity for sweet revenge and we cant wait to beat up the so called most dominate group in wrestling! When your talking domination, you're talking about the Road Warriors! Tell them Hawk! Hawk: Well! Andersons you pulled a good one on us last night but this fight has just begun! We're gonna break every bone in your bodies and just for kicks we're gonna break that pencil neck of Blanchard's and then we're gonna take Flair's head off with a clothesline! Domination is coming! Schiavone: I cant believe this! Carlos Colon and the Road Warriors! Magnum who can possibly be your last partner. Magnum: Glad you asked Tony. I needed somebody crazy and I mean really crazy. I called him first and he sent in these comments. Tony, my final partner is Terry Funk! Terry: (pre recorded) Of course I'm gonna team with Magnum. He's given me the chance to get my hands on those egg sucking dogs, the Andersons. I also get to beat up that bleach blond, banana nose Ric Flair. You all might of left Texas alive but at the Omni, your all going to be put down! Schiavone: Magnum, you have indeed put together an incredible team. March 11th will be a historic night indeed. Magnum: I've assembled the best team possible. We're coming to fight and rest assured not one member of our opponents will be standing when its all said and done! Schiavone: Fans we've got to go. What a match that's going to be. See you next week. Then Magnum COMPLETELY one-ups that announcement with his team. Colon, Roadies, and Terry Funk! I hope that the roof on the Omni is screwed down tight. I'm also really looking forward to The Cobra vs Mil Mascaras.
LowBlowPodcast
I will say that the rise of David Sammartino from his WrestleMania match last year to his current status has been one to watch and throughly enjoy as a guy who has seriously done way too much with not that much talent. Looking forward to the 10 man tag with a lot on the line there along with Martel vs Race and Orndorff who is going to set the place a blaze coming in against Bruiser Brody. Top three matches sell the card while we continue to see the builder underneath. Great stuff.
SirEdger
When the Horsemen thought they had everything figured out, Magnum TA upps the ante with his own dream team. The Omni will be rocking on March 11!
GeneJackson95
Great card lined up for Atlanta! I can't tell you how much I love Chicky Starr showing up to help the Horsemen and then Magnum bringing in Colon and Terry Funk is perfect! Super fun stuff here! Riddle and Prichard keep the heat on Taylor here, such a well booked TV title feud!
dawho5
It's not often the Horsemen are one-upped in star power, but I think they definitely get outshone here. Even with Chicky Starr involved. Johnson and Roop are quietly having a very intense feud. David Sammartino has indeed made a lot of use out of the famous name. I would pay good money to see that Pritchard/Taylor feud. dawho5
Magnum showing David why it's bad to play around. The four matches leading up to that were great , with my favorite being Rich/Sawyer. The Fullers continue to be great as well.
SirEdger
I'm having a blast with this version of the Sawyer vs Rich feud. It's not Buzz vs Tommy but they still garnering some serious heat, which is very enjoyable!
rainmakerrtv
Tag matches on the Charlotte card looked all kinds of fun. Flair vs. Backlund was the epic it deserved to be. Loving the Stud Stable , so wonderfully hateable.
spaldoni
MACW @ WTBS Studios TV aired 3-8-86 Schiavone: Hello again everybody and welcome to another edition of Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling, back with me this week is David Crockett. Welcome back David and boy do we have a lot in store tonight. David: Thank you Tony and yes we do. We will see and hear from a number of wrestlers who will be on the big Omni card. We have learned that 2 more matches have been added to that big card as Jimmy Snuka will go one on one with Ron Fuller and the Stud Stable Rob Fuller and Jimmy Golden will defend their US titles against the number 1 contenders the Nightmares. Schiavone: Wow, as if that card could get any bigger. As I said we have a lot of action tonight as well. Mark Youngblood will take on Tom Prichard, Jimmy Snuka will go head on with US tag champ Jimmy Golden and Spike Huber will take on one half of the Devil's Duo Jeff Sword. David: All that and also in action will be the Soul Patrol, Wildcat Wendell Cooley, Bob Backlund, Hot Property, Billy Robinson and The Iron Sheik teams up with Alexis Smirnoff. We will hear from Harley Race in regards to his upcoming NWA Title match with Rick Martel. We will also show you a special work out by Magnum TA as he gets ready for that gigantic 10 man tag match in the Omni. Speaking of that match please welcome our guests at this time, the United States Champion, Ric Flair and the NWA world tag team champions Ole and Arn Anderson along with JJ Dillon. Flair and the Andersons come out with the belts on their shoulders while JJ sports a smug smile. Flair: WHOOOO! David Crockett, you just stand there and keep your mouth shut! Just take a moment and look at what greatness is all about. JJ: You're right about that champ. Now as everybody knows the 4 Horsemen are worldwide and right now Tully is up in Canada showing Lutte what the 4 Horsemen are all about. Come March 11th at the Omni, Tully will be ready to rock. As a matter of fact David Crockett, yours truly worked out a deal and on March 22nd in Wheeling West Virginia, the NWA Canadian International Champion Jacques Rougeau will defend his prestigious title against none other than Tully Blanchard! HA! Yea you heard me. I told you the 4 Horsemen are global and Tully is going to win that Canadian Championship and become an Icon over there just like he is here. Now as for the 10 man tag match, Magnum thinks he has the upper hand. Nonsense! We are the most elite group in wrestling and now we have Chicky Starr with us. Nothing can stop us. Tell them boys. Ole: As always I'll keep it plain and simple. We're going into the Omni for a fight and that's exactly what we're going to do. Magnum has a plan and everybody does until I punch them right in the mouth. Until I wrap them up and make them beg for their lives. We're going to hurt them and hurt them bad, it's just as simple as that. Arn: At the Omni the 4 Horsemen and Chicky Starr are going to commit a crime, not jaywalking, not petty theft, but aggravated assault! Magnum thinks bringing in Colon will help, not when we have Chicky Starr. He thinks the Road Warriors are going to help, not when we have the NWA tag team champions. He thinks that crazy fool Terry Funk is going to save them, no way, not when we have the greatest technician in the world, Tully Blanchard. That just leaves you Magnum and guess what? We have the man who beat you for the US title, tell them champ. Flair: Whoo! You all heard him. There is not a weak link amongst our team. I see nothing but weakness with Magnum and his clowns. Oh Magnum, poor Magnum, I'm going to wrap that figure four on you and take you to school boy. After we take care of business at the Omni, the 4 Horsemen and Chicky Starr are going to party all night long and put every bar we can out of business. Now, as for my US title, boy the NWA is trying to send in the big guns this month. Whoo! I've got Raymond Rougeau on the 15th and Kevin Von Erich on the 22nd. When I beat those so called contenders, a world title match had better be in the cards and I hope your listening Bob Geigel. Whoo! 4 Horsemen! Chicky Starr! Omni! The after party! It's going to be one wild night! WHOOOOOOOO! David: Ok well, there you have it. A very confident group as they head to the Omni. Well, lets go to the ring. Hot Property vs. Vic DeMarco and Carl Hillman Hot Property are riding on some serious momentum, after some great outings on Wild Wild Wrestling in Texas. They work over their opponents with quick tags and crisp double team maneuvers. Travis and Savoldi swing Hillman to the ropes and hit the double Hot Shot for the pin! Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans with me at this time is the Mid Atlantic Champ, Harley Race. Harley, at the Omni you and Rick Martel will collide for the NWA World Title. It's all on the line. Race: Schiavone, you act like I should be nervous. I've been there before and I'm going to be there again. Martel has spent his reign ducking me and now he has to finally face me. Martel, at the Omni I'm coming to take my title back and there's absolutely nothing you or the NWA can do about it! Schiavone: A very determined Harley Race. Fans back to the ring. Billy Robinson vs. Tim Straw Billy toys with Straw and takes him down several times then hits a double arm suplex for the pin! The fans boo as Billy heads to the podium. Schiavone: Impressive win Mr. Robinson, well it's you and Tony St. Clair at the Omni. Billy: I'm so sick and tired of hearing that name. Everybody knows I'm the greatest wrestler to come out of the UK and yet everybody keeps talking about Tony St. Clair. He talked tough last week but he wont be able to back that up in the Omni. I guess I'll have to prove what I already know and that I am the superior wrestler. I'm taking you down St. Clair! Commercial Break Wildcat Wendell Cooley vs. Lou Simms Cooley has the fans fired up as he body slams Simms then follows with a drop kick. Once again Paul Jones comes out to ringside and scouts Cooley. Cooley hoists Simms up and finishes him off with the Oklahoma Stampede for the pin! Jones likes what he sees then heads to the back. Cooley heads over to the podium. David: Wendell, you've been on quite a roll here in Mid Atlantic. It seems like you've caught the attention of one Paul Jones. Cooley: First of all, its great to be here wrestling in front of these great people. I'm feeling great and I'm in the best shape of my life. Now I'm not sure what Paul Jones is looking for, he hasn't said anything to me. Paul Jones walks out. Jones: Wendell, I'll tell you what I'm looking for. I'm looking for another member of the Paul Jones Army and from what I've seen, you just might fit in very nicely. I like what I see. Come and talk to me in the back and I think you'll like what I have to say. Jones walks away as Wendell looks a bit puzzled. David: Well, I guess we know Mr. Jones intentions, I'm not sure if Wendell Cooley is interested. Fans my next guests are the Assassins led by their manager the Assassin. Now recently at a house show, your two men interfered in a match, costing American Made their match against Alexis Smirnoff and the Iron Sheik. What was that all about? Assassin: David Crockett, I told you the Assassins were coming to wreak havoc. I told you we were serving notice to every tag team in Mid Atlantic. Well, Kernodle and Kirchner just happen to be first up on the hit list. When we're done with them, on to the next team and so on until we're wearing tag team gold. Once again, get ready Mid Atlantic because this is only the beginning! Commercial Break Spike Huber vs. Jeff Sword w/Doug Vines and Paul Jones Huber starts off with fire as he hip tosses Sword several times then drop kicks him out of the ring. Vines and Jones yell at Huber then tend to Sword. Sword gets control with an eye rake and body slam then starts stomping away on Huber. Huber makes a big comeback, swings Sword to the ropes and hits the Powerslam! The Ref counts 1..2..Vines runs in and stomps on Huber. The ref signals for the DQ. Sword regroups and joins in. They double slam Huber. Jones throws in a chair. The Duo slams Huber on the chair! They place the chair on top of Huber. Vines jumps off the top rope and stomps the chair into Huber's ribs! Sword jumps off the top rope and does the same thing. The fans cheer as Hot Property rushes in and pounds away on the Devil's Duo. The Duo bail out of the ring and Jones takes them to the back. It looks like Huber is in serious pain as Hot Property checks on him. Commercial Break Schiavone: What a despicable act by the Devil's Duo. Spike Huber had to be helped out of here by trainers. What a shame as Huber had been on a roll here. We'll keep you updated. Well fans, on March 11th at the Omni you will see former AWA World Champ, 'Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff clash with Bruiser Brody, in what should be one heck of a hard hitting match up. In another special match up, The Cobra makes his Mid Atlantic debut against the legendary Mil Mascaras. Boy, what a way to make a debut here. March 11th will be a historic one in the Omni. Ok fans, to the ring. Soul Patrol vs. Bill Richards and Clyde Putnam The fans are on their feet and cheering as Sweet Brown Sugar jumps up and executes a flying scissors on Richards. Norvell comes in and nails Richards with a flying knee. Norvell tags in Sugar, they hit the double suplex, roll back, jump up then crash down with a double diving headbutt for the pin! David: Wow! The Soul Patrol looked fantastic. Fans please welcome out Don Kernodle and Corporal Kirchner, American Made. Well boys, you heard what the Assassin had to say. Any comments? Kernodle: The Assassin seems to think we're going to just roll over and take this. Think again my friend! We just don't do that! Kirchner: Exactly right! We're not going too lay down and play victim to these guys. They want a fight? Well so do we! Anytime, anyplace Assassins! Lets see how you do when your face to face with us! David: I think the Assassins messed with the wrong team. Fans when we come back, Superfly Snuka takes on US Tag Champ, Jimmy Golden. Commercial Break Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka vs. US Tag Champ Jimmy Golden w/Rob Fuller Golden attacks Snuka from behind and pounds away with heavy fists. Golden controls for awhile until he goes for a back drop and Snuka grabs his head and slams it straight down on the canvas. Snuka drops several knees on Golden then picks him up and body slams him. Snuka jumps off the 2nd rope, going for a knee drop but Golden rolls out of the way. Golden regroups and works on the knee. Golden lifts Snuka up and slams him knee first on the turnbuckles. Golden hits a back suplex and goes for the cover but Snuka gets his foot on the ropes. Rob gets on the apron and yells at the Ref. Golden joins in. Snuka limps up and grabs Golden by the back of his head then jumps up and nails him with a headbutt! Golden crashes into Rob, Snuka rolls Golden up 1..2..3! Ron Fuller runs in and kicks away on Snuka's knee. Rob slides back into the ring and helps his brother. Golden is still laid out. The Fullers double team Snuka until several wrestlers run in to get them off him. Commercial Break Schiavone: What a wild scene we just had. I sure hope the Superfly will be healthy enough for his match against Ron Fuller at the Omni. If I know Jimmy Snuka, I don't think that matters. It will be a busy night at the Omni for the Stud Stable as Rob Fuller and Jimmy Golden defend the US titles against the Nightmares. Fans before we go to the ring, with me right now along with Paul Jones is Johnny Rich. Johnny, you and Brett Sawyer have been going round and round in all the arenas. At the Omni, it will be you and Brett in a anything goes Alley match. Rich: (Bandage on his forehead) You see this bandage, its because of that no good dirty cheat'n Sawyer! He's also a coward! That's why he's not even hear tonight. Schiavone: Let me clarify, he's booked in Lutte right now. Jones: Shut up Schiavone! Rich: Sawyer, I'm going to finish you off once and for all at the Omni when I beat you down boy! I'm going to give you the biggest whip'n of your life! You hear me boy! I'm running that no good Sawyer out of town once and for all! Schiavone: A very angry Johnny Rich, I still cant believe this is the same Johnny Rich I used to know. Ok fans, to the ring. The Iron Sheik and Alexis Smirnoff vs. Jim Davidson and Gary Williams Sheik and Smirnoff just destroy their opponents. Smirnoff hits a backbreaker on Williams then turns him over. Smirnoff crashes down with a knee drop from the top turnbuckle then tags in Sheik. Sheik clamps on the Camel Clutch for the victory! The fans boo as they head to the podium. David: You guys seemed to have formed quite the tag team. Smirnoff: What you have here is two men who represent their great countries very well. We have united our forces for one reason, to rule the tag team division here in Mid Atlantic and all over the NWA. David Crockett, I want to tell you and all these stupid lazy Americans that we will now be known as The Caspian Empire! It is that sea that binds our great countries. Together, we cannot be stopped! Sheik: That's right! No team can stop our power. Cameraman zoom it! (Sheik Flexes) We will be champions because Iran is number 1, Russia is number 1. Any team in the USA (Sheik spits on the ground) David: Oh my, looks like a very dangerous alliance has formed. Fans, here's another special look at Austin Idol. A video of Austin Idol clips is shown to the song 'Do you want to touch me' by Joan Jett is played. It ends with 'Coming Soon to Mid Atlantic' Commercial Break Bob Backlund vs. Alex Portman Backlund rolls around Portman then suplexes him back. Backlund picks up Portman and hits him with the running atomic drop for the pin! Schiavone: Another solid win for Bob Backlund. I'm sure Bob is in contention for some title shots. Speaking of titles, last week we saw the TV Champ, Terry Taylor get jumped by Rock Riddle's Agency as the Fabulous Blondes and Tom Prichard really did a number on him. Taylor will defend his TV title against Prichard at the Omni, now if Prichard fails to win the title, he says he'll leave Mid Atlantic. On that note, up next Tom Prichard will take on Mark Youngblood. Commercial Break 'The Doctor of Desire' Tom Prichard w/Rock Riddle vs. Mark Youngblood Prichard tries to attack Youngblood before the bell but Mark blocks his shots and chops away on him. Mark swings Prichard to the ropes and hits him with a flying thrust shot. Riddle gets on the apron and Mark raises his hand and Riddle hops down in a hurry. Mark gets raked in the eyes and Prichard follows with a gut wrench suplex. Prichard drops a knee and covers 1..2..Kick Out! Prichard swings Mark to the ropes and hits him with a back elbow smash then drops an elbow but still cant put Mark away. Prichard continues to punch away on Mark. The fans start to rally behind Mark. Mark gets the War Dance going then starts chopping away on Prichard. He swings Prichard to the ropes and back body drops him. Mark body slams Prichard then goes outside on the apron. He's gearing up for the sling shot splash but Riddle comes over and grabs his leg. The ref runs over and is arguing with Riddle. Prichard gets up and super kicks Mark in the back of his head, then drags him through the ropes and back into the ring. The Ref is still arguing with Riddle. The fans roar as Terry Taylor hits the ring, Prichard turns around and gets nailed with the flying 5 arm smash! Taylor rolls out of the ring. Mark puts his arm over Prichard. The Ref turns around 1..2..3! The fans go crazy as Riddle throws a tantrum. Commercial Break Riddle and a very groggy Prichard are at the podium. David: (Smiling) Well, looks like Taylor got some payback and Mark Youngblood walks away with a victory. Riddle: Real funny Davey Baby, but I guarantee you or Taylor wont be smiling after the Doctor of Desire takes that TV title right off him! That title belongs on an A lister baby, a real top star and that top star is Tom Prichard. The next time you see the Doctor of Desire, you will address him as champ, got it! They storm out. David: (Still smiling) Ok fans we want to close out the show with a special video of Magnum TA It shows Magnum working out hard in the gym. He's lifting weights and working the knee hard. He takes time out. Magnum: As you can see I'm training hard and motivated. I've got one thing on my mind and that's March 11th, the Omni! 4 Horsemen, Chicky Starr, you've got one serious fight coming and I'm bringing in the Calvary. Carlos Colon! Terry Funk! The Road Warriors! Men I can depend on, men I know who can fight, and men who all have scores to settle. Well on March 11th, scores will be settled and business will be taken care of. All of you are going to regret stepping foot in that ring. We're coming for blood and we're coming for your blood! Cooley swings Mr. X into the turnbuckles then charges in with a clothesline. Cooley hoists Mr. X up on his shoulder then runs forward and finishes him off with the Oklahoma Stampede for the win! Mark Youngblood vs. Terry Gibbs Gibbs works over Youngblood with some hard hits, chokes and stomps. Mark comes back with a flurry of chops, swings Gibbs to the ropes and back body drops him. Youngblood body slams Gibbs then goes out on the apron and hits the slingshot splash for the pin! American Made vs. The Kiniski Brothers The match starts off pretty clean with some good tag team wrestling. The Kiniski's look pretty sharp tonight as they work over Kirchner. Kelly hits Kirchner with an atomic drop and Nick follows with a back suplex. They cant put Kirchner away and Kirchner is able to tag in Kernodle. Kernodle takes control with a clothesline on Nick. Kernodle executes the neckbreaker then tags in Kirchner who finishes it off with the fallaway slam for the pin! Afterwards American Made help Nick up and the two teams shake hands. Pedro Morales vs. The Iron Sheik w/Alexis Smirnoff Sheik attacks Morales from behind and punches him down then stomps away on him. Sheik chokes Morales with his boot. The Ref pushes Sheik back and Smirnoff reaches under the ropes and chokes Morales. Sheik swings Morales to the ropes and goes down for the back drop but Morales kicks him. Morales hammers away on Sheik with a flurry of punches. Morales winds up and sends Sheik flying with a fist. Morales swings Sheik to the ropes and back body drops him then jumps up and drops a knee. Smirnoff gets up on the apron and Morales runs over with a flying knee that sends Smirnoff off the apron. Sheik comes up and kicks Morales from behind then gut wrench suplexes him back. Sheik covers 1..2..Kick Out! Sheik picks up Morales but Morales punches away on the Sheik then body slams him. Morales runs back to the ropes but is tripped up by Smirnoff, Morales runs back towards Smirnoff. Sheik hits Morales from behind and rolls him back with a hand full of tights 1..2..3! Smirnoff runs in and helps Sheik up then raises his arm to the booing crowd. Morales comes up from behind, grabs both of their heads and slams them together. The crowd cheers as Morales shakes his fists. Soul Patrol vs. The Fabulous Blondes These two contending teams put on a good contest for the fans. After about 20 minutes, Norvell hits Crews with a body slam, Timbs runs in and gets a body slam from Norvell. Sugar runs in and him and Norvell swing Crews to the ropes and hit him with a double back elbow smash. Timbs runs over and gets a double back body drop from the Soul Patrol. The Ref is trying to regain order. He guides Sugar back to his corner. Timbs pulls something out of his tights and slips it in Crew's hand. Norvell picks Crews up and Crews nails him with the foreign object. Crews staggers back and Timbs tags himself in. Timbs hops up on the 2nd turnbuckle and drops a double front forearm smash on Norvell. The Ref counts 1..2..3! Bob Backlund vs. 'The Great One' David Sammartino Most of this match is Backlund out wrestling and frustrating David. David bails out of the ring several times and the fans let him have it. David yells back at them. David gets back in the ring and continues to yell at the fans. Backlund grabs David by the waist and suplexes him over. Backlund picks David up in a vertical suplex position and drops him back. Backlund picks David up and hits the atomic drop, David fly's forward and through the ropes. David staggers around on the outside as the Ref counts. David waves his hands in frustration and heads to the back as the fans boo him mercifully. The Ref counts to 10 and raises Backlund's hand in victory. Backlund doesn't seem to pleased with this victory. It's possible David might have jet lag from his flight back from Canada. Hot Property vs. The Devil's Duo These two teams have been going at it recently both in Mid Atlantic and Wild West Wrestling. Multiple times all four men are in the ring brawling. The Ref shows a lot of leniency in this match. Sword and Savoldi are fighting in a corner and Vines and Travis are going at it in the opposite corner. Hot Property swings The Duo into each other, the Duo collides then staggers back and Hot Property drop kicks them back into each other. The Ref finally gets some control. The Duo takes over with a double running knee to Travis's back. They follow with a double back breaker. They swing Travis into their corner and put the boots to him. Savoldi runs over and once again everybody is brawling. In all the chaos Vines swings Savoldi to the ropes and ducks down but Savoldi fly's over him with a sunset flip, the Ref jumps over and counts 1..2..3! Savoldi wasn't the legal man but in all the confusion the Ref made the count. The Devil's Duo are yelling at the Ref then charge over and continue the fight with Hot Property. The two teams brawl all the way to the back. Taped Fist Match Rocky Johnson vs. Bob Roop There's a reason these guys hands are heavily taped because they just go all out and pound away on each other. Both men end up bleeding as they hammer away on each other's heads. Roop gets control with a low blow. He clamps on a headlock and punches away. Roop body slams Johnson then puts his knee on his chest, grabs him by his head and punches repeatedly on his bloody face. Roop throws Johnson outside the ring. Roop goes out and stomps away on him. Roop picks up Johnson and swings him towards the steel post but Johnson reverses it and swings Roop head first into the post. After Johnson clears the cob webs he grabs Roop and hammers away on his head. Johnson throws Roop back into the ring. Johnson slides in and waits. Roop grabs the ropes and slowly lifts himself up. Roop is dazed and staggers around. Johnson holds his taped fist in the air to the cheering crowd. Roop turns towards him and Johnson blasts him with a solid right hand! Roop just falls back. Johnson covers 1..2..3! The crowd roars as Johnson holds his fists in the air.
gordi
I like the way that you wrote up the face vs face tag match. I could easily picture it in my head, and it worked just right for he story you were telling there. Same with Morales vs The Iron Sheik, it feels just right for an aging baby face vs classic ethnic heel match, where they are working within reasonable limits but still putting on an entertaining bout. dawho5
Really good TV that builds to the Omni. Savannah got a great look at the midcard with some very different presentation match to match. Main event would have been lots of fun and you sent the fans home happy.
GeneJackson95
Another great episode of tv, you've do a great job of getting everyone's characters across...I enjoyed Sheik and Smirnoff and Rock Riddle was entertaining as always. That Omni card is going to be wild.....especially Orndorff vs Brody! Great card in Savannah as well...I love what your doing with David Sammartino, great way to end the match with Backlund. I could just envision the Taped Fist match with Rocky and Bob Roop, really great stuff!!
SirEdger
Man, you're doing such a great job at turning David Sammartino into a chickenshit heel. Those are the best heels, in my book!
