Even the Spoiler seems a bit concerned. Fantastic technical bout follows with Yamada and Cobra picking up the win. Good sportsmanship follows. Nord and Strong machine give the fans a hard hitting brawl that ends in a double C.O. to keep the feud going. LOL, poor Larry is taking a beating from everybody lately. The sight of Big Jim and Valiant dancing over an unconscious Larry was hilarious. Garvin knocks out Adonis in the sleeper match of the night. New TV champ as Flowers takes advantage of Burke's previous injuries and takes the title via the Piledriver! RnR Express end the California Cowboys great title run. Hoping for some more fun rematches. Big Piper/Rose main event that I'm sure sold a ton of tickets. Piper has things going his way until Bundy interferes and squashes him! That sneaky Rose once again walks away with the title and seems to have new ring allies in Foley and Bundy. This solidifies Bundy as a top heel. Looking forward to seeing how Piper deals with Bundy. His time away from the territory certainly hasn't mellowed his disposition any, as he laid a brutal beatdown on young Daniel Lue, savagely pummeling him before putting him away with a nasty neckbreaker. Only time will tell what his plans are in AWA Pacific, but it is sure to be bad news for somebody. AWA Pacific Television Title Match : "Diamond" Timothy Flowers © vs. Mad Dog Vachon Flowers recently won the TV title at the Aloha Spectacular by taking advantage of an injured Leo Burke. He would have no such advantage in this match, facing a health and quite angry Mad Dog. Vachon has been targeting the Diamond & Gold Exchange for the past while, since Goldie Rogers attacked him during an earlier match with Flowers, and the addition of the TV title to the mix has intensified his focus. Vachon went all out against Flowers, who seemed to be in a state of high panic throughout the match. Flowers went for the tried and true tactic of having his partner, Goldie Rogers, attack Vachon. This meant an end to the match by DQ, but didn't slow up Vachon any , who simply started pounding on Rogers. Flowers resorted to bringing in a chair and hitting Vachon over the head with it, opening up a gash on his forehead. The two proceeded to beat down Vachon until somebody charged into the ring and sent Flowers and Rogers flying. It's Butcher Vachon! The Vachon Brothers are reunited in AWA Pacific! The Diamond & Gold Exchange went running for the locker room while the Butcher held back his brother, who was bleeding and baying for the blood of Flowers and Rogers. The Diamond & Gold Exchange certainly look like they have kicked the hornet's nest in the Vachon Brothers. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my guest is *still* the AWA Pacific Heavyweight Champion … "Playboy" Buddy Rose! The crowd explodes in boos as Buddy Rose, title belt over his shoulder and an insufferably smug expression on his face, made his way to the ring. His is accompanied by his partner, Rip Oliver, and a third man who is unfamiliar to the AWA Pacific fans. Bonnema : Buddy Rose, I am somewhat surprised to see you still with that title belt. I would have figured you would be stripped of the title after your match with Roddy Piper, given the strict injunctions in the match contract against outside interference. Rose : Contract, you say? Well , let's have a look at that contract. (pulls the contract out of the pocket of his robe) Hmmm, the following people are barred from being present during the match … Rip Oliver, The Diamond & Gold Exchange, The California Connection, Lightweight Larry and the LA Express … no mention of King Kong Bundy, no mention of JR Foley , no DQ rule in play, and nothing stopping them from lending a hand. All legal as church on Sunday! (waving the contract under Bonnema's nose) The Playboy is still the champ, and all of you might as well get used to it. Bonnema : (backing up while giving Rose a dirty look) After the match, you were calling Foley The New King. Does this mean that his stable is now the Fourth Family? Rose : You have a keen grasp of the obvious, Bonnema. Foley got it done where Zbyszko failed. Larry the Loser is out, JR Foley is in. And we finally have a Fourth Family worthy of being in the same alliance as myself. Bonnema : You may be champion for now, but Piper is not going to take this lying down, and his friends Chris Adams and Scott McGhee are hot on your heels as well. Rose : Oh, please. Piper had his shot and he missed. If he wants me, he has to get past King Kong Bundy first, and that is just not going to happen. And as for Adams and McGhee … I've brought in one of the toughest men in wrestling (gesturing to the new man) , big Phil Hickerson out of Jackson, Tennessee. When Phil and the Crippler get done with them, Adams and McGhee are going to find it hard to challenge for my title with broken legs. Face facts, Bonnema. The Four Families have taken over, and the Playboy is sitting pretty, as he always does. AWA Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Rock & Roll Express © vs. LA Express Ricky and Robert are hot of winning the Tag Titles from the California Cowboys, and were looking to have that momentum carry them past Ron Starr and Eric Embry. Starr and Embry clearly were in no mood to by bypassed, and put up quite a fight for the new champions, but in the end the Rock & Rolls hit the Double Dropkick on Embry and retained their titles. An impressive first defense, but they will still have to contend with the former champs Bob Orton and Tim Brooks, as well as the many other tough teams in AWA Pacific. Keiichi Yamada vs. Phil LaFleur These two wowed the fans as part of an exciting tag match at the Aloha Spectacular, and were both equally impressive in this singles match. They had an intense and fast paced technical match where the momentum shifted back and forth throughout the match, and the fans were on the edge of their seats for every second of it. As the match wound down to the end, Yamada caught LaFleur in an armlock, but LaFleur was just barely able to get to the ropes to escape, and the bell rang, signaling a 15 minute Time Limit Draw. Both men shook hands after the match, but from the looks on their faces, they clearly wanted another crack at each other. Larry Zbyszko vs. Jimmy Valiant Larry Zbyszko has had a very rough ride of late. Failing to retrieve the gold ring from Roddy Piper, being abandoned by his now former partners the LA Express , getting kicked out of the Four Families , and, most humiliatingly, having Jimmy Valiant and Big Jim dance over his unconscious form at the Aloha Spectacular. He certainly was wearing an anxious look on his face as he walked to the ring, carrying with him a briefcase. Not wanting to risk Larry using it as a weapon in his match, the ref insisted he put it down on the timekeeper's table before starting the match. Larry would frequently glance nervously at the briefcase throughout the match. Valiant, for his part, would regularly mock Larry for this as he taunted him during the match. Larry could not get much offense going with this distraction, and Valiant dominated the match until a mid ring collision sent the ref dazed to the mat , barely conscious. Larry gestured out to the briefcase, but before he could get to it, Valiant locked him in the Sleeper Hold. It looked like that was it for Larry Z, only the ref was still out. But then, out of nowhere, someone leapt into the ring and attacked Valiant. It was Nord the Barbarian, with his manager KY Wakamatsu close behind! Nord knocked Valiant down with a big clothesline, then went to the top rope and crushed him with a flying kneedrop. He then put Larry on top while Wakamatsu revived the ref to make the three count. After the match, Larry handed the briefcase to Wakamatsu, who opened it up, revealing the briefcase to be filled with stacks of money. Wakamatsu nodded and closed the brief case, heading to the locker room while Larry and Nord followed close behind. The crowd was stunned at this shocking turn of events. Buddy Rose gets some tough help in the form of Hickerson, and The Four Families do indeed look strong. Rock and Rolls with a nice title defense, but man with Orton/Brooks, Glamour Boys, LA Express, and now the Vachons all on the scene, they have a rough road ahead. Zbyszko needed a little pick me up, and Nord is about the best pick me up money can buy! That'll teach Valiant to Boogie Woogie on Larry!! He's right, the 4 Families could end up ruling the Pacific. Hickerson is a perfect henchman for Rose. RnR continue to roll as they get their first title defense in. Another solid match up between Yamada and LeFleur. These types of matches really keep the fans on the edge of their seats. LOL, sooner or later it had to happen as Larry Z gets a win. Matt Borne vs. Dick Slater Slater won with a piledriver The Diamond & Gold Exchange vs. The Vachon Brothers The Vachons bloodied both men and got the pin on Rogers after a double running elbow smash to the head King Kong Bundy vs. Roddy Piper Both men were counted out while brawling outside the ring Buddy Rose, Rip Oliver & Phil Hickerson vs. Chris Adams, Scott McGhee & Billy Jack Haynes Rose's Army relentlessly worked over McGhee, keeping him in their corner for most of the match. Billy Jack was able to tag in, and immediately caught Rose with a powerslam and went for the cover, but the ref failed to see the tag, and while the ref was sending Billy Jack out of the ring, Oliver and Hickerson hit a spike piledriver on McGhee and placed Rose on top of him , giving the victory to the Army. Piper and Bundy will be a fun feud as this one goes to a double c.o. Good main event as the Rose Army picks up the win. The Rose Army seems to be clicking. rainmakerrtv Posted May 16, 2019 Author Report Share Posted May 16, 2019 Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN , May 10th Tom Zenk vs. Roger Sexton The AWA Pacific territory has been witnessing an influx of new talent into the region, and one such newcomer is young Tom Zenk, a good looking young man from Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Zenk sported an impressive physique that caught the eye of the ladies in the audience but also strong potential and solid ring skills as he easily dealt with Sexton, hitting a missile dropkick to score his first victory. Zenk is definitely one to look out for in the months ahead. The Diamond & Gold Exchange vs. The Vachon Brothers The arrival of Butcher Vachon , coming to the aid of his brother last week, seems to have put a scare into "Diamond" Timothy Flowers. In fact, the TV Champ seemed terrified of the French Canadians, refusing to tag in and just watching as they tore apart his partner like a pack of wild dogs. Flowers ultimately fled the ring without getting involved in the action, leaving Rogers to be bloodied and ultimately finished with an elbow smash from the second turnbuckle from Mad Dog while he was stretched over the Butcher's knee. It's doubtful we will see Rogers again and now it looks like Flowers is now on his own. Al Perez vs. Ryan Shoulders Zenk is not the only handsome newcomer making his Pacific debut. "The Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez was very friendly with the fans, shaking hands and giving high fives all the way to the ring, but displayed a considerable wealth of technical ability as he wrestled Shoulders, showing both amateur wrestling talent and surprising submission skills before finally polishing him off with a big German Suplex. Perez certainly made a strong first impression in the AWA Pacific circuit. Buddy Rose & Phil Hickerson vs. Chris Adams & Scott McGhee Having diverted the challenge of Roddy Piper for the time being, Rose has moved his attention to fending off Adams and McGhee. To that end, he has brought in Phil Hickerson, and the two focused on trying to injure McGhee. They kept McGhee in their end of the ring for most of the match, keeping Adams from tagging in and luring him in to provide a distraction for the ref, allowing them to double team McGhee while Adams was sent back to his corner. Rip Oliver's presence at ringside provided an additional distraction, and in the end, Adams and the ref's attention was just pulled in too many directions. Adams thought he had been able to tag in, but the ref didn't see him, and while the ref was sending him out, Rose and Hickerson hit a spike piledriver on McGhee that put him down for the count. McGhee looked like he was in bad shape at the end of the match. With the line of defense he has build up, it looks like Rose is nearly impossible to beat for the Heavyweight title. Losing Team Leaves Town : Jimmy Valiant & Big Jim vs. Larry Zbyszko & Nord The Barbarian After some humiliating losses at the hands of Valiant and Big Jim, Larry Z went out and bought him one hell of an equalizer in Nord The Barbarian. Valiant and Jim did their best to try to contain the huge Barbarian, but were at their most effective when they were able to get Larry into the ring. It looked like they would prevail when, after double teaming Larry, Big Jim trapped him with a big bearhug, but while the ref was distracted with Valiant (much like the refs tonight seemed to be prone to distraction), Nord came off the second turnbuckle with KY Wakamatsu's megaphone and hit Jim in the back of the head. Jim collapses and Nord put Larry on top of him. The ref turned around to see Larry in the pinning position and counted the one two three. After the match, Red tried to hit the Heart Punch on LaFleur, but Rougeau saved his partner by dragging him out of the ring AWA Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Rock & Roll Express © vs. The East-West Connection The Rock & Rolls defended their belts when they hit Ventura with a double dropkick Roddy Piper vs. King Kong Bundy Piper manager to get the Sleeper Hold on Bundy, but was attacked by the Zambuie Express, leading to a DQ. Piper managed to make it out of the ring and fend them off with a chair, then got on the mic and challenged them to a six man tag match the next week in Los Angeles. Buddy Rose & Phil Hickerson vs. Chris Adams & Scott McGhee McGhee was still hurt after the match on Pacific Showcase, so instead Adams partner was Billy Jack Haynes. This wound up being bad news for Rose, as Haynes caught him off the ropes with a powerslam and scored the one two three, to a huge cheer from the fans. The Vachon's are dominating, and whether they choose to pursue tag or singles gold should be a force. Loving Hickerson as back up for Rose, but not quite as much as I am loving Nord as back up for Larry Z!! I would pay good money to see Borne and Slater brawl all night. Piper vs Bundy would be fun, and the six man should be a ton of fun. Will be interesting to see who Hot Rod brings as partners! Billy Jack pins Buddy! I think we have us a title match!! Awesome seeing the Vachons wrecking havoc. Al Perez makes a solid debut. Rose and Hickerson polish off McGhee and leave him hurting. LOL, Larry Z actually gets the best of his opponents (with help from Nord) and sends Jim and Valiant packing. Still loving the Borne/Slater matches You've done another amazing job of building a young star, this time with Texas Red. RnR continue their strong reign with a great win over the East West Connection. Piper has things going his way with Bundy until the Zambuie Express show up. Good grief, Bundy teaming with the Zambuie Express! Piper better bring in some big guns! Luck runs out for the Rose Army as Billy Jack puts Rose down and looks to be the next title challenger. rainmakerrtv Posted May 23, 2019 Author Report Share Posted May 23, 2019 Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Cow Palace , San Francisco , on ESPN / TSN, May 17th Mike Rotunda vs. Osten Taylor The recent injection of new blood into the Pacific territory continues with the arrival of young Mike Rotunda. The Syracuse alum bring with him an impressive resume of both collegiate and professional wrestling credentials and they were certainly on display as he took on the rookie Osten Taylor. Rotunda easily dominated Taylor with his considerable technical skills before polishing him off with a leaping clothesline. With all of the young talent joining the Pacific roster, Rotunda may well be racing out in front of the pack. Adrian Adonis vs. Ricky Morton After the Rock & Roll Express took the Pacific Tag Team Titles from the California Cowboys, the other half of the California Connection, the East-West Connection , have been making a concerted effort to bring the belts back into the fold. In this singles match, the Golden Boy administered quite a pounding on Morton, even bloodying his nose at one point, but Morton just kept firing back, no matter how much punishment he took. Morton seemed like he might just gave the permanent advantage when he whipped Adonis into the ropes and ducked down for a backdrop, only for Adonis to stop in his tracks and drill Morton into the mat with a DDT for a quick 1-2-3 . A big singles victory, but it will take a tag team win to get the titles. Dick Slater & Jonathan Boyd vs. Billy Jack Haynes & Matt Borne When Slater first arrived in AWA Pacific, he immediately targeted Billy Jack Haynes, but lately it has been Haynes' friend Matt Borne who has weathered most of Slater's attacks while Haynes aimed for Buddy Rose's Pacific Heavyweight Title. For this match, Slater teamed up with Jonathan Boyd to face both men at once, but the pair kept their focus on wearing down Borne, dodging Haynes whenever he came in the ring and working to keep Borne from tagging out. The match took a strange turn when Buddy Rose and Phil Hickerson came to ringside and attacked Haynes. Billy Jack was not able to tag in for Borne when he was able to make it to the corner, and not able to rescue him when Boyd hit the reverse neckbreaker and get the pinfall. Haynes sure has his work cut out for him, fighting a war on two fronts, and Borne seems to be the one caught in the crossfire. Ron Starr vs. Ron Garvin Ron Starr was accompanied not just by his partner Eric Embry, but another wrestler that Starr identified as his cousin from Puerto Rico, Chicky Starr. It wasn't too long before the two men were prowling around the ring like hungry sharks during the match, and Garvin called in backup in the form of his partner, Leo Burke. What resulted was a hard hitting match with a lot of chaos surrounding it. Garvin was attempting to Sunset Flip Ron Starr, but the ref was distracted by Embry and Burke brawling at ringside, allowing Chicky to sneak in the ring and clobber Garvin with a blackjack. He then put Ron on top of him, and the ref, having not noticed the attack, counted Garvin's shoulders to the mat for a three count. It looks like Ron Starr's cousin is just as "Rotten" as he is. Texas Red & The Spoiler vs. Jacques Rougeau & Phil La Fleur One newcomer who has been carving a path of terror across AWA Pacific has been Texas Red. Guided by his mentor The Spoiler and using the dreaded Heart Punch, the lanky Texan has left a trail of broken bodies and terrified fans everywhere he has gone. Jacques Rougeau certainly seemed very reluctant let his young pupil anywhere near Red, but La Fleur was very eager to prove himself. When Rougeau finally tagged him in, La Fleur went all out against Red, peppering him with rapid punches and dropkicks. He held his own for a while, but then went for a reverse crossbody, which Red dodged with seeming ease. Red then unleashed a vicious beatdown on La Fleur, culminating with a lariat that got the pinfall. Looking to make an example of La Fleur, Red picked him up from the mat and seemed to be about give him the Heart Punch. Rougeau desperately dove into the ring and grabbed La Fleur, trying to pull him out of the ring. Red caught Rougeau by the hair, pulled him back in, and instead gave the Heart Punch to Rougeau, who collapsed to the mat. Red and Spoiler arrogantly left the ring, while the medical crew took Rougeau out on a stretcher. King Kong Bundy & Zambuie Express vs. Roddy Piper & ?? ?? JR Foley's men have kept Piper away from challenging for the Heavyweight title but haven't been able to keep him down for long, and the fans were certainly eager to find out who his partners would be in this six man tag match. They didn't have to wait for long, as he came charging out with … THE VACHON BROTHERS! All three of them immediately went after Bundy and the Zambuies, with the result being a crazy brawl with all present getting busted open. The match finally ended when Butcher held Elijah Akeem over his knee and Mad Dog came off the second turnbuckle with a crushing kneedrop that got the three count. Piper has finally found some partners as crazy as he is, and the impregnable wall of Foley's men are actually starting to look vulnerable. Haynes might be in serious trouble with Rose and others gunning for him. Chicky Starr makes an immediate impact as he helps his cousin get a shady win over Garvin. Texas Red continues to wreak havoc with his heart punch, this time sending Jacques out on the stretcher. Piper bringing out the Vachons was a huge WOW moment!
