This was a really good go-home show because it made WrestleRock feel like a huge event from top to bottom. The celebrity appearances gave it a big-time feel, and the Carlos Colon training video was excellent because it made him look like a hero representing all of Puerto Rico, while Kokina looked like an absolute monster destroying everyone in his path. Hogan and Gerry Morrow remain one of the hottest feuds in the company and the visuals of Morrow celebrating with champagne and Hogan shaking the cage were memorable. Warrior and Kerry Von Erich made their match feel important without needing hatred, and the tag division continues to be one of the strengths of the AWA with several different feuds and stipulations that all feel unique. The returns of Muraco and Matt Borne added some surprises, and the six-man brawl gave fans a taste of the chaos to come at WrestleRock. By the end of the show, there were multiple matches that felt like must-sees, which is exactly what you want heading into a major event.

The show starts with Brenda Britton standing in the middle of the ring

britton.jpg.5aec91034fa6881ddb8f0e304ad2e2e2.jpg

Britton: Hi everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Get ready for the thrill of a lifetime. The Champagne man himself, Gerry Morrow will be gracing everybody with a match right here, right now! So, let me introduce to you the man that will end Hulkamania forever...Champagne Gerry Morrow!

Sade's Smooth Operator plays as Morrow walks into the ring wearing a sparkling green vest, shiny green boots and trunks and of course his trademark fedora and sunglasses. He hands a bottle of champagne to Brenda then takes off his suit, fedora and sunglasses. Morrow kisses Brenda's hand and is ready for action.

'Champagne' Gerry Morrow w/Brenda Britton vs. Tony Goya

morrow3.jpg.ad197ccbcd3815e1a52841ba4fa0aeff.jpg

Morrow dismantles his opponent and begins to toy with him. Morrow hits a suplex and follows with a diving headbutt 1..2..NO, Morrow lifts his opponent up. BOOOOOOOS! Morrow chokes his opponent on the top rope and flings him back. Morrow hits a body slam then goes to the top rope. Morrow smiles before crashing down with a diving headbutt. Morrow stands up and puts his foot on Goya's chest 1..2..3.

Brenda enters the ring with a Hulkamania shirt and the champagne bottle. Brenda lays the shirt across Goya's face then hands Morrow the bottle. Morrow opens the bottle and gives the fans a toast gesture. Morrow's about to pour champagne over his fallen opponent.

The fans come absolutely unglued as HULK HOGAN hits the ring in jeans and a tank top! The fans are going crazy as Hogan unloads on Morrow! Brenda gets out of there. Hogan punches Morrow to the ropes. Hogan swings off the opposite ropes and clotheslines Morrow over the top rope!

hogan.jpg.7dd58c1b2a5ffc447a19d220c0ecf98d.jpg

The fans are on their feet. Hogan rips off his shirt and throws it down at Morrow. Brenda runs over to help Morrow. Hogan does his traditional poses as the fans soak it all in. Hogan grabs the mic

Hogan: Gerry Morrow! Whatcha gonna do at WrestleRock when the power of Hulkamania runs wild on youuuuuuuuuuu!!!!

Commercial Break

Larry Nelson: oh my! What a way to start the show! Hulkamania just ran wild on Gerry Morrow! (takes a deep breath) Ok, a lot going on tonight. I can tell that AWA world champ Kokina is in the building as is Carlos Colon. We'll be hearing from both men tonight. Let's get back to the ring.

'Tidal Wave' Tommy Jammer vs. Neil Jordan

jammer.jpg.31114f9748d43ebe0e6ea6b6c23ae73a.jpg

Jammer's fired up tonight as he puts his opponent down with a dropkick from the middle turnbuckles. Jammer swings off the ropes and hits the California Splash for the win.

Nelson: Ok, Tommy, at WrestleRock you've signed to face a mystery opponent who will be making his AWA debut. Does this worry you at all?

Jammer: Hey, it's like surfing the waves in Cali. Sometimes you never know where they're going to take you but you just gotta go with the flow. At WrestleRock, I'll be ready to ride that unknown wave and come out on top!

Commercial Break

Footage from last week is shown as JW Storm returns to save Gary Young from a double team beating by Austin Idol and Bill Dundee.

Nelson: With me now are Gary Young and JW Storm.

Young: JW, thank you brother. I had been feeling pretty alone but as a true friend you were there for me. It's sure great to see you.

Storm: Gary, you've been a great friend to me and Austin did us both wrong. I say...

Boos as Austin Idol and Bill Dundee come out.

Idol: Awwwww isn't this sweet. A reunion of the losers. You guys were made for each other

Dundee: You two are just pathetic. Austin, you definitely made the right move by cutting ties with these two sad sacks.

Young: You know Austin, I'm glad you came out especially with your little friend here. JW and I were talking and why don't we settle this at WrestleRock. You two versus us two. Easy as that.

Storm: Yea Austin, I would love to take a shot at you and your little buddy

Dundee gets pissed and moves closer. Idol smirks and whispers something to Dundee.

Idol: It's clear you boys need to be taught a lesson in the ring. So yea, I'll lace up the boots one more time just so the Superstar and I can teach you that lesson you'll never forget. See you darlings at WrestleRock.

Dundee: But nobody will be seeing you afterwards, you can bet on that

Idol and Dundee leave. Young and JW high five.

Young: Idol! Dundee! The Mavericks are back!

Storm: And with a vengeance!

Commercial Break

Mil Mascaras and El Canek vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez

mascaras.jpg.aab817940d70ebe8c8a4c718458eccb5.jpgcanek.jpg.b144562d8ceffccc2c1b875970131df6.jpg

Canek and Mascaras look tremendous and their chemistry is off the charts. Canek holds Lopez in a vertical suplex position as Mascaras hits a flying press from the top rope for the win.

Nelson: Impressive victory indeed. Canek and Mascaras will get their well deserved world tag team title shot at WrestleRock.

Before the commercial break we see clips of the AWA dual champs the Heavenly Bodies on various local talk shows. They make sure to always show off both sets of titles and talk about how great they are and how great they look. When asked about their WrestleRock opponents they only refer to them as faceless chickens who hide behind their masks before dismissing them as any kind of threat or challenge.

Commercial Break

The Hangman w/Nell vs. Trent Watkins

hangman.jpg.18fefd7eba91761e11c8fb97dd7f775f.jpg

Hangman obliterates his opponent before finishing things off with the Hangman's neckbreaker! Nell gets in the ring and says something at Hangman. Hangman lifts his opponent and sets up for the heart punch.

Hold on! The fans roar as the Big Bossman hits the ring!

bossman.jpg.8cf10ab7220d0d21d3597a08f55c9311.jpg

Nell turns around as Bossman puts him down with a big boot!

Bossman twirls his nightstick and nails Hangman. He swings Hangman to the ropes and hits Hangman in the mid section with the nightstick. Bossman twirls the nightstick and smacks Hangman over the head with it! Hangman and Nell are down and out as Bossman holds his nightstick high. Bossman looks into the camera and yells "Justice is back!"

Commercial Break

Rampage vs. Samson Smith and Carl Kellerman

Morgan and Equalizer take turns mauling their poor opponents before swinging Smith to the ropes and finishing things off with double boots to the head! Rampage huff and stomp around the ring. We'll see if they can do this to Los Boricuas at WrestleRock.

Commercial Break

Nelson: About to join me is Greg Gagne along with his Ace, Frank Andersson.

Gagne runs up wearing a sweatsuit and carrying a towel.

Gagne: Whoa wait one second Nelson. Only I'm allowed to introduce the Ace. I want all of you to show proper respect for the greatest wrestler walking the face of the earth, the Ace Frank Andersson!

The Swedish National Anthem plays as Frank smugly walks out wearing a Swede Olympic sweatsuit with all his gold medals around his neck. He gives the fans a disdainful look, totally shuns Nelson and then shakes hands with Gagne.

ace2.jpg.4892045b127a0de53dac18e717945168.jpg

Nelson: (rolling his eyes) Well, you asked for it and got it. The AWA has chosen Bobby Blaze to be your Ace's opponent at WrestleRock.

Gagne pauses for a long time with a disappointed look on his face. Frank holds out his arms while giving Gagne a puzzled look.

Gagne: (laughing and shaking his head) I gave the AWA two weeks to find a suitable opponent and all they could come up with is Bobby Blaze? (laughs again) Bobby Blaze? Really? Bobby Blaze? (shakes his head) So be it. I guess we'll just look at this as an exhibition to showcase the Ace's talents. I feel for you Bobby Boy. You're about to be embarrassed at the biggest AWA event in history. However, you can hold your head high knowing you lost to the greatest wrestling technician in the history of wrestling. We're done.

Gagne leaves. Andersson bumps Nelson's shoulder as he exits.

Commercial Break

We see Maxx Payne playing his guitar in a dark room. He stops

payne.jpg.5e3b0df34a8e8dcd54d01387809b9722.jpg

Payne: At WrestleRock, Norma Jean and I are going to deliver some very bad news.

Maxx gives an evil smirk and starts playing taps.

Nelson: Fans, with me now is the AWA commissioner Magnum TA

Magnum: Thank you Larry. I've said this countless times but WrestleRock is where grudges will be settled. After what's been going down with Don Muraco and Tommy Rich, I've signed them to go at it in a street fight.

Cheers as The Magnificent Muraco comes out

Muraco: Thank you so much brothu! You hear that Tommy Rich! That means I can do anything I want to you! Oh and Tully Blanchard, that means the same for you too! At WrestleRock, I'm taking out two dirty birds with one stone!

Commercial Break

AWA TV Champ Gama Singh and The Rock n Roll RPMs vs. Iceman Parsons and TCB w/Jackie

This one's a wild one. There's a lot of animosity in the ring and tempers flare several times during the seesaw match. RPMs and TCB have furious exchanges while Parsons does his best to avoid Gama. After minutes of hard hitting action a pier six brawl escalates. The RPMs and TCB are fighting all over the place. Gama unloads on Parsons and puts him down with a top rope missile dropkick but the Ref is occupied with the RPMs and TCB. Jackie gets in the ring and nails Gama's head with Parson's scepter! Parsons rolls over and covers as Jackie yells at the Ref. The Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! BOOOOOOOO!

Commercial Break

Nelson: Fans, stay tuned for our WrestleRock report after the show. I understand both official cards will be announced. Ok, joining me now is the man who will wrestle for the AWA world title at WrestleRock, Carlos Colon.

The fans pop as Colon walks out wearing a suit.

colon2.jpg.0b1809729f06a5a88182ec6ebdf57b33.jpg

Nelson: Carlos, I know you spent a lot of time training in Puerto Rico and I have to say you look to be in the best shape of your life.

BOOOOOOs as Adnan Al Kassie comes out

Adnan: Carlos Colon! You have no idea of what you're dealing with! You really think training in your homeland is the same as preparing for Kokina? You've awaken a beast and he wants your blood!

WHAM!

kokina.jpg.f9f06b888f30e4c1a37fbeaab73456ba.jpg

From behind, Kokina headbutts Colon! Kokina grabs Colon by his head and headbutts him again! Kokina keeps his vice grip on Colon and headbutts him again! Colon is busted open. Kokina swings Colon into the steel post! Security and officials swarm the scene. The last image we see is a bloody and fallen Carlos Colon.

Report

The show opens with a special Ultimate Warrior/Kerry Von Erich video set to Foreigner's Jukebox hero. We see clips of Warrior and Von Erich training, cutting promos and in ring highlights. The video ends with Warrior's voice saying "There can only be one!" The Ultimate Warrior clashes with the Modern Day Warrior at WrestleRock!

Magnum TA comes on screen. He's standing in front of a WrestleRock banner.

Magnum: At WrestleRock, Leo Burke and Konnan will wrestle for the AWA International title. Earlier this week each man participated in a special sit down interview. Let's show you some highlights.

Leo's asked about his time in the AWA and how much he has left in the tank.

Burke: I've had my ups and downs in the AWA, that's for sure. I've always been in title contention but came up short. This past year I was able to advance to the world title battle royal at Champagne Slam. I was so close but once again came up short. Since then I've been reenergized and refocused. I may not be as young as I used to be, but I can tell you right now, I'm more determined than ever. I'm well aware that this may be my last chance at gold and there's no doubt in my mind that I have to win this match. Konnan's a tremendous competitor but I simply can't lose this match. I've worked too hard and I plan on walking out with that International title.

Konnan's asked about his loss to Leo Burke at Champagne Slam and how does it affect him mentally.

Konnan: The fact of the matter is I took Leo Burke lightly and he beat me. The only thing that did was light a fire under me. I won't make that mistake again. Leo Burke is going to get the very best Konnan and Leo Burke can't handle the best version of Konnan. Last year I had to make a name for myself and Gary Hart was a big part of that. When Gary left, I was riding high but I let my guard down. I had to regroup. I don't need a manager, I don't need to prove anything to anybody but myself. At WrestleRock, Leo will be out of his league. He's going to get a Konnan he can't hang with. That International title is mine!

We see another vignette of the Tribal Nation. They're sitting in a domed enclosure heated with hot rocks and water. They're doing a spiritual cleansing. They say they're preparing for battle against Latin Desire and after the battle, Latin Desire will be sacrificial offerings.

The British Bombers and Guerreros each cut promos. Guerreros say if the Bombers had any kind of honor then they would promise to refrain from any rule breaking whatsoever at WrestleRock. The Bombers say the Guerreros wont be able to keep up with them for 30 minutes.

Ron Garvin and Dick Slater cut promos

Slater: Garvin! We have a lot of unfinished business but at WrestleRock, (holds up a taped fist) you can bet your ass I'm going to finish things!

Garvin: You know something Slater, you don't hit as hard as you think you do. I can take your punches but when I nail you with these hands of stone, you're going down.

Magnum: Ok, you can see there's a lot of bad blood heading into WrestleRock. I say, let them put it all out there and settle things once and for all. Fans, here's a rundown of the official WrestleRock cards. I'm sure you're excited as I am.

Larry Nelson: Hello fans and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. (Somber tone) Earlier this week, Hulk Hogan was being honored at a fundraiser event. In what was supposed to be a joyous occasion turned into a disaster. You'll see what I'm talking about right now.

We see several people inside a ballroom sitting at tables. A man gets up at the podium and starts talking about Hulk Hogan and his charitable contributions. The man says children from schools all over America wanted to thank Hulk Hogan and present him with a trophy.

Several kids carry the trophy up to the stage and present it to Hogan. The kids hug and shake hands with Hogan, then go back to their tables. Hogan is speechless and takes this moment in.

hogan.jpg.7dd58c1b2a5ffc447a19d220c0ecf98d.jpg

Hogan: I can't tell you what this means to me and Hulkamania.

There's a bit of commotion as Brenda Britton walks up on the stage.

britton.jpg.5aec91034fa6881ddb8f0e304ad2e2e2.jpg

Britton: Hulk, I know we might be on opposite sides but I can put those differences aside for a moment and tell you this.

Brenda pulls out a bottle and quickly sprays Hogan in the face!

Hogan's blinded

Gerry Morrow comes up, grabs the trophy and breaks it across Hogan's back! There's a frightening gasp and screams from the crowd.

Mass security gets up there as Morrow and Brenda get out of there. People in attendance are absolutely shocked and disgusted. The place is in complete disarray. Security and a doctor are attending to Hulk. The last image we see are frightened kids crying.

A camera follows Morrow and Brenda to the parking lot. Brenda gets inside the limo. Morrow puts on his fedora and sunglasses, looks himself over in the tinted window, smiles and turns around.

morrow3.jpg.ad197ccbcd3815e1a52841ba4fa0aeff.jpg

Morrow: You cannot blame me for dis. It is Mr. Hogan who is de foolish man. I told him several times he would not make it to de cage at WrestleRock but he did not listen. He is a very selfish man indeed. He did not think of de consequences. He did not think of those poor little kids. He only thought of himself. He could have left de AWA with dignity. Well, now he has paid de price. Mr. Hogan will not be at WrestleRock and Hulkamania is no more. However, Morrow Mania will now run wild on de AWA! HAHAHAHAHA, de Champagne Man will be de kids new hero to look up too. And I will not let them down unlike dat selfish Mr. Hogan. Now if you'll excuse me, a toast is in order.

Commercial Break

Nelson: I can't even tell you how disgusted I am by Gerry Morrow's actions. I can tell you this, there's no way Hulk Hogan will miss WrestleRock. No way! (calms down) Ok, let's get to the ring.

Bobby Blaze vs. Trent Watkins

blaze.jpg.ce1c2e0c2280598a90a5541eeccbc61d.jpg

Blaze is feeling good tonight and gives the fans some much needed positive energy. Blaze wins the match with the Northern Lights Suplex.

Nelson asks Blaze about Gagne and his Ace underestimating him at WrestleRock. Blaze says it's nothing new but maybe Gagne should ask other wrestlers who've underestimated me. Blaze says Gagne's not the only one with an ace up his sleeve.

Commercial Break

Scott 'Flash' Norton w/Ted Arcidi vs. Neil Jordan

norton.jpg.550c804744672d8ac1673c0efc34ed83.jpg

Norton just punishes his poor opponent before finishing him off with a powerslam! Arcidi gets in there and him and Norton celebrate by laughing and yelling.

gaylord.jpg.e711d2c2c4900edc1f8409591b6b886f.jpg

The fans cheer as The Missouri Tiger sprints down the aisle. He gets up on the top rope. Norton and Arcidi turn around as Tiger takes them both out with a flying shoulder tackle! Norton and Arcidi bounce and roll out of the ring as Tiger tears off his football jersey and shakes his fists. The Missouri Tiger is back and ready for his showdown with Norton at WrestleRock.

Commercial Break

Nelson: Joining me now, finally, are the AWA world tag team champs, the Heavenly Bodies.

The Heavenly Bodies come out smiling and showing off both sets of titles. Before they get a word in, commissioner Magnum TA comes out.

Magnum: Well boys, it's nice of you to finally join us. You've missed a lot of bookings here.

Prichard: Look Comish, we're dual champions and we're wanted by the media. It's not our fault.

Del Ray: That's right. Everybody wants a piece of the Heavenly Bodies and as dual champions we need to appease the people.

Magnum: Ok, I get it. However, missing wrestling bookings mean fines and possible suspensions or even title stripping. But, I've got a better idea. This could throw WrestleRock into a frenzy which makes it exciting.

Prichard: Just get to the point Comish. We have a tight schedule.

Magnum: You better clear your schedule because today, you will defend your titles against the Mavericks.

Del Ray: You can't do that! We're dual champs and we call the shots!

Magnum: I call the shots, I can do that, and I just did. Good luck champs.

Magnum walks away, Larry's smirking and the Heavenly Bodies are all shook up.

The Cobra vs. Arnie Goldstein

cobra.jpg.62d019d2a8dbb40b7f20875c706adb0e.jpg

Cobra once again dazzles the fans with his high octane offense. He hits a snap suplex, goes to the top rope and finishes things off with the frog splash!

Cobra looks out and sees Art Barr and the Vin Man on the aisle. Both Barr and Vinnie are giving his frog splash a double thumbs down. Barr looks into the camera and says "I'm finishing this chump off a WrestleRock" Vin follows with "YEA!"

Commercial Break

Leo Burke and The British Bombers vs. Konnan and The Guerreros

This one's a good one. The Bombers and Guerreros continue their rivalry with several see saw exchanges. Burke and Konnan give the fans a WrestleRock preview with some intense segments. Ten minutes isn't enough time as the bell rings signaling a draw. The Bombers and Guerreros tempers flare and they start going at it again. Konnan and Burke have a tense stare down before exiting. They're clearly saving it for their International title bout at WrestleRock.

Commercial Break

The Magnificent Muraco vs. Todd Rooney

muraco.jpg.02cb1f41e6ce2d53c4dfff3226195956.jpg

As Muraco heads to the ring he's attacked from behind by Tommy Rich and Tully Blanchard! They put the boots to Muraco. Rich gets a trashcan. Tully holds Muraco up as Rich blasts the trashcan over Muraco's head! Rich gets another trashcan and dumps garbage all over the fallen Muraco. Tully rubs Muraco's face in the garbage. Rich gives Muraco a face stomp into the garbage and starts laughing. Tully goes to ringside.

tullly.jpg.d27285c97b603e24c22a941b24c4efa0.jpgtommy.jpg.3df03030a01d7e69bfbf8ecf64dcb877.jpg

Nelson: Oh, I'm sure you and Tommy are real proud of yourselves.

Tully: Shut up Nelson! Muraco! You've been a thorn in my side for way too long boy! After Wildfire takes care of you at WrestleRock, I'm going to throw you out of the AWA just like the trash you're lying in!

Rich walks over.

Rich: What do you say Tully, one more time?

Tully: Why not

Rich pushes the officials out of the way and body slams Muraco into the trash. Rich takes a banana peel and rubs it in Muraco's face. Tully kicks more garbage on Muraco before more officials come out.

Nelson: Get them the hell out of here!

Commercial Break

Sam Houston vs. Harold Bannister

houston2.jpg.a431fff00f491f2476dcda36b405d33c.jpg

Sam roughs up his opponent and wins the match with a running bulldog.

Sam cuts a promo on his WrestleRock opponent Matt Borne and says that Brawny Man wannabe made a huge mistake and at WrestleRock he's going to get a bunkhouse whoop'n he'll never forget!

Commercial Break

AWA World Tag Team Title Bout

The Heavenly Bodies (C) vs. The Mavericks

heavenlybodies.jpg.4c94a776c5b647ec32b6ae7201694c15.jpgjw.jpg.91dbed90324fadf6d66a0e92ffbac219.jpgyoung.jpg.510b0180f8cdfff20c4f845d9d006757.jpg

It's clear the Heavenly Bodies are a little rusty as the recently reformed and re-energized Mavericks are all over them. They take turns pinballing the Heavenly Bodies all over the ring. Heavenly Bodies finally get it together and their chemistry shines as they perform several impressive double team maneuvers and score several near falls. The Mavericks stay strong and mount a comeback. Young's all over Prichard.

Boooooos as Austin Idol and Bill Dundee come out. They yank Storm off the apron and start double teaming him. Young sees this and starts to run out there but Del Ray's one step ahead and nails Young with a flying knee to the back. Del Ray distracts the Ref while Dundee and Idol continue to beat down Storm. Young staggers up as Prichard nails him with a superkick 1..2..3!

The Heavenly Bodies celebrate and brag into the camera about being dual champs and the greatest tag team ever. Idol and Dundee enter the ring. The Heavenly Bodies strut out of there.

Idol clamps the Las Vegas Leglock on Young as Dundee hits Young with a Bombs Away from the top rope. Officials rush the ring. Idol and Dundee go to ringside.

Nelson: Come on! Why?!

Idol: I told you! I told you all! They choked again! See, they're incapable of winning.

Dundee: Just pathetic! If you losers think that was something, just wait till WrestleRock!

Idol: You darlings are finished!

Commercial Break

Crush w/Ax and Smash vs. Shinya Hashimoto w/Jumbo Tsuruta and Mr. Saito

This one's hard hitting as Crush and Hashimoto beat the hell out of each other for a few minutes. On the outside, Demolition, Tsuruta and Saito start brawling! Jumbo and Saito throw salt in Demolition's faces and proceed to beat them down. Saito gets on the apron and distracts the Ref. Crush has Hashimoto up for a suplex but Jumbo clips Crush behind the knee. Jumbo powerbombs Crush and gets out of the ring. Hashimoto covers as the Ref turns around and counts 1..2..3! BOOOOOOOO!

The Japanese walk out with confidence leaving the fallen Demolition behind.

Commercial Break

The Ultimate Warrior vs. Samson Smith

warrior.jpg.e6e786b1ac28f3ad4ef50bf232fe1573.jpg

The crowd's electric as Warrior runs to the ring and shakes the ropes. It's all Warrior as he wins the match with a press/slam followed by a body splash! Warrior grabs the mic.

Warrior: At WrestleRock, two fighting warriors will battle for supremacy but only one will be victorious. That one will be the ULTIMATE WARRIORRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Commercial Break

Nelson: My goodness, what a show! Certainly a lot of hatred going into WrestleRock. Fans, I've been given a note that we will hear from the immortal Hulk Hogan next week. Oh boy, I don't care how confident Morrow is, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him when Hulkster gets a hold of him. Ok, joining me now is the AWA world champion, Kokina, along with his manager Adnan Al-Kassie. Kokina will be defending the AWA world title against Carlos Colon at WrestleRock.

Adnan leads Kokina out. Adnan's in full Sheik attire as Kokina proudly wears the title on his shoulder.

kokina.jpg.f9f06b888f30e4c1a37fbeaab73456ba.jpg

Nelson: Adnan, your champion attacked Carlos Colon from behind last week and busted him up pretty good. Why attack him from behind? Could the champion be a little worried about his WrestleRock challenger?

This pisses Kokina off. Kokina gives Larry a big scare by grabbing him by his shirt!

colon2.jpg.0b1809729f06a5a88182ec6ebdf57b33.jpg

BIG POP as Carlos Colon (bandaged head) comes running out! He clotheslines Adnan from behind, then starts pummeling Kokina! A swarm of security run out. They hold both men back. Colon breaks free and attacks Kokina. Both men fall down. Colon's on top and just starts hammering away on Kokina! Officials and prelim wrestlers run out. The show ends in chaos.

Report

We see Kerry Von Erich standing in the desert sun.

Kerry: Ultimate Warrior, you know my history and you know I've conquered some of the most dangerous men in wrestling. I survived War Games and rocked the house at Champagne Slam. However, my biggest challenge happens at WrestleRock. That's our destiny. You're absolutely right about one thing. There can only be one in the end. That one will be the modern day warrior Kerry Von Erich!

Next, we get a Dick Slater/Ron Garvin montage video set to Pat Benatar's Hit me with your best shot. These two collide in a taped fist match at WrestleRock!

The Big Bossman is standing in front of a Prison

Bossman: (twirls his nightstick) Hangman! You thought you put me down for good but you found out last week the Big Bossman is back and back with a vengeance! At WrestleRock I'm going to administer law, order and justice! And Nell, if you get in the way, you'll be serving hard time punk!

The Hangman and Nell are standing in the desolate town

Nell: Big Bossman, you might think you have the upper hand but you're sadly mistaken. When we call out a poor soul, we always collect. You'll be no different from the rest. At WrestleRock, the Hangman will finish things and you'll become obsolete.

Hangman grips his noose

Latin Desire are standing in front of a WrestleRock banner

Lou: Tribal Nation, we know you're getting ready for battle but nothing can prepare you for what's coming at WrestleRock

Al: That's right! You wronged the Perez family and we'll get our payback at WrestleRock!

We get a TV title hype segment

Iceman Parsons and Jackie are in a dance club surrounded by colorful lights and music

Jackie: At WrestleRock your time is up Gama Singh!

Parsons: I beat you not once, not twice but three times sucker! The odds are on me at WrestleRock, so kiss your TV title goodbye Gama!

Gama's standing in front of his car, wearing a suit with the TV title on his shoulder

Gama: I'll give credit where it's due. You've gotten the best of me so far Iceman but only with a lot of help. The question is, can you beat me all by yourself? I don't think you can. At WrestleRock, I'll be prepared for anything that comes my way and I can tell you this, I will defeat you and I will walk out (Gama taps on his title) with this TV title.

The report ends with tidbits from the WrestleRock celebs, Jose Feliciano, Foreigner, Hector Camacho, Gladys Knight, Maria Conchita Alonso and Mr. T.

Can't wait- we are getting ready for the big one- Wrestlerock!

Historically, Morrow vs Hogan wouldn't be such a huge deal but the way you have booked the AWA over the last few years makes this HUGE!!  Can't wait for this one as you never can predict the future of the AWA with you bookig and that's what makes it awesome.

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 7-3-91

ring.jpg.243e52cd28f6e2a12890087b7b23c08d.jpg

We see footage from last week at the charity event when Gerry Morrow broke that trophy over Hulk Hogan's back. That's followed by highlights of the wild pull apart brawl between AWA world champ Kokina and Carlos Colon.

Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Wow, WrestleRock is just 2 weeks away and you can certainly cut all the tension with a knife! Tonight, we'll be hearing comments from the immortal Hulk Hogan. We'll also be hearing from Adnan Al-Kassie and the AWA world champion, Kokina as well as comments from his challenger, Carlos Colon, who's back in Puerto Rico. (deep sigh) but right now, let's take you inside the ring as apparently Gerry Morrow has purchased an entire segment.

Brenda Britton is standing inside the ring

Britton: Hi everybody! It's now time to introduce the man who has single handily destroyed Hulkamania. The greatest C.O.O. in wrestling history, none other than Champagne Gerry Morrow!

Thundering boos as Morrow walks out wearing his white suit, fedora hat and sunglasses. He's also carrying a bottle of champagne. He strolls into the ring and waves his arm to the back. Jumbo Tsuruta, Mr. Saito, Shinya Hashimoto, Tully Blanchard and Tommy Rich all walk to the ring wearing suits. The boos are deafening. Morrow kisses Brenda's hand.

morrow3.jpg.ad197ccbcd3815e1a52841ba4fa0aeff.jpgjumbo.jpg.e38382b7b41404e93f709d4286cb5935.jpgsaito.jpg.cc445087657e6977e015da6d15af5e3b.jpghashimoto2.jpg.bb23a2a28bf8aa0e2678e1a2c461e022.jpgtullly.jpg.d27285c97b603e24c22a941b24c4efa0.jpgtommy.jpg.3df03030a01d7e69bfbf8ecf64dcb877.jpg

Morrow: Ahhhhhhh, thank you Brenda. As you can see all de affiliates of Morrow Industries are in attendance. Mr. Blanchard, de time is yours.

Tully: It's an honor to be standing here amongst the best in the business. Gerry, I can't thank you enough for finally putting an end to that sickening Hulkamania. Muraco! It's your turn! You were just as guilty and responsible as Hulk Hogan for your part in the Horsemen's AWA departure. Well, now it's time to pay for your gutless actions. Last week you were humiliated and deserved every bit of it. However, that was only the beginning. Just wait and see what Tommy Rich does to you at WrestleRock boy!

Rich: Donnie boy! I had so much fun rubbing garbage in your stupid face last week that I can't wait to do a lot more than that at WrestleRock. I wrote the book on street fights and Jack, I'm going to have a whole hell of a lot of fun beating you down and embarrassing you to the point where you'll never show that ugly face of yours ever again!

Morrow: HAHAHA! As you all can see, Morrow Industries is stronger than ever. I have no doubt in my mind dat Hogan's accessories will be extinguished at WrestleRock. Muraco is an embarrassment, plain and simple. As for Hogan's feeble attempt to bring in de muscle of Demolition. HAHAHA, just take a look at these 3 men. (Jumbo, Saito and Shinya are standing there with stoic looks and arms folded) Nothing fazes them. They are indeed human wrecking machines. Not only will they walk out as 6-Man champions but they will be walking over de 3 bodies of de Demolition.

The boos get louder

Morrow: Boo all you want but I only speak de truth. Now, let me talk about de man who is not immortal after all, Hulk Hogan. But first I want to ask all of de little Hulkamaniacs to not shed a tear for their false hero. They can now look up to me as their hero. I did you all a favor and proved Hulk Hogan was nothing more than a selfish and idiotic fraud. Hulk Hogan has failed you. I am de right person you can admire and look up too. I exposed Hulk Hogan for who he truly is. I gave de man a chance to leave de AWA with respect, honor and dignity but he ignored me. I gave him fair warning dat he would not make it to WrestleRock but again he ignored me. Hulk Hogan will not be at WrestleRock but de good news is dat I will be. I will attend to get my hand raised and then I will give de most celebratory toast de AWA has ever seen. And trust me when I say, you will all get to be a part of dis sensational moment as we close out WrestleRock on de highest note possible. AHHHHH I can see it now.

Morrow holds up his champagne bottle

Morrow: To de end of HulkaMania and de dawning of a new era with MorrowMania. HAHAHAHAHA!

Barr and Vinnie celebrate but then see Cobra standing in the aisle. Cobra writes something on a scorecard and holds up the number 0. The fans laugh as Vinnie and Barr have a tantrum.

Commercial Break

Nelson: Fans, I'm standing here with Ron Garvin. Ron, just a few months ago, you and Dick Slater were world tag team champs but now it's come down to a taped fist match at WrestleRock. I still can't believe things escalated that quickly.

garvin.jpg.f00e306974023f120e0d4e4ea26ca4b4.jpg

Garvin: It was all over a misunderstanding and Dick just couldn't accept that. Well, if this is how we have to solve things then so be it. But listen up Dick. You're dealing with the man with the hands of stone and you can bet that I'm ready for the fight...

There's a commotion as Dick Slater comes out

slater.jpg.32202cdf407453ca49175fa337c47e0f.jpg

Slater: You know Ronnie, you like to always remind people about your hands of stone. I'll say this, they aint much at all. And I'll tell you one thing more, don't worry about being ready for a fight, you better be ready for a first class ass beating! Because that's what I'm going to give you!

Garvin: Dick, you always talk about how tough you are, and it seems like a lot of people believe it. But after taking a few of your punches I can honestly say you're nothing but talk!

Slater: Forget about WrestleRock. We can go right now!

Slater pushes Garvin. Garvin pushes back. Nelson gets out of there as Slater and Garvin start brawling! These guys have a furious exchange and then fall to the ground. They're wrestling and throwing punches as officials and security run out.

Commercial Break

El Canek and Mil Mascaras vs. Todd Rooney and Ray Glader

The dream masked team dazzle again and show off insane chemistry. Canek holds up Glader in a vertical suplex position as Mascaras hits a flying press from the top rope for the win. One thing's for sure, these guys are ready for their title shot at WrestleRock.

Commercial Break

The Magnificent Muraco is standing in front of a WrestleRock banner and he looks pissed

Muraco: (arms waving) Tommy Rich! Tully Blanchard! You jumped me! You poured trash on me! The two of you humiliated me! This I don't forget! This I don't forgive! Tommy Rich! At WrestleRock, I'm going to beat you down until you beg for mercy and then that's when the pain begins! Tully Blanchard! You're not safe! Oh no brotha! At WrestleRock, you're in the danger zone and I'm going to pound down on each and every one of your brittle bones! I'm going to do that until you give up for the whole world to hear!

Commercial Break

Maxx Payne vs. Arnie Goldstein

payne.jpg.5e3b0df34a8e8dcd54d01387809b9722.jpg

Payne takes great pleasure in making his opponent suffer before finally finishing things off with the Payne Killer.

Nelson: (looking nervous) Maxx, since you knocked out Bad News Brown with that guitar of yours, we haven't heard from Brown. I know he's been medically cleared for your match at WrestleRock...

Maxx: (pulls up his guitar) This is Norma Jean and you will respect her. Right now, Norma Jean and I would like to play a tune for Bad News Brown.

Maxx starts playing the guitar and then sings

"Bad News Brown, oh where oh where could he be. Where oh where could he be"

Maxx starts a sinister laugh that creeps Nelson out

Commercial Break

'The Modern Day Warrior' Kerry Von Erich vs. Neil Jordan

kerry2.jpg.0a3e84140a04cc06968b59d3bf07ec0e.jpg

The crowd's rock'n as Kerry goes to work on his opponent. Kerry back drops Jordan and applies the claw! It's over.

Nelson: At WrestleRock, we're going to find out who the real warrior of the AWA really is. Kerry, you look more than prepared.

Kerry: Larry, I've trained harder in my life than ever for this match. I've never been more ready. Ultimate Warrior, the Modern Day Warrior is coming to take you down and stand tall in the end. I've got nothing but respect for you but as you well know, there can only be one true warrior that walks out victorious. After the battle, Kerry Von Erich, the modern day warrior will prevail!

Commercial Break

Nelson: Fans, at WrestleRock, the biggest main event in Puerto Rican history will take place as Kokina defends the AWA world title against Carlos Colon. Let's take a look at both men.

Carlos Colon is standing in front of Hiram Bithorn Stadium. Thousands of fans are chanting his name. Colon takes it all in. He smiles and pumps his fists.

colon.jpg.df5c80283fd3edef392a672cd9d7edea.jpg

Colon: At WrestleRock, I will bring the AWA world title home!

The cheers get louder as Colon raises his fists high

We then see Adnan Al-Kassie and Kokina on a beach with ocean waves in the background

Adnan: Doomsday is upon you Carlos Colon. Your fun and games will soon come to a brutal and bloody end. Kokina will obliterate you in front of all your loved ones. At WrestleRock, the monster Kokina will be released and you Carlos Colon will never be the same again!

kokina.jpg.f9f06b888f30e4c1a37fbeaab73456ba.jpg

Kokina takes a coconut and headbutts it into pieces. He grabs another coconut and crushes it with his hand.

Commercial Break

Nelson: Fans, we're going to take you now to the home of the immortal Hulk Hogan and let's hear what he has to say.

hogan.jpg.7dd58c1b2a5ffc447a19d220c0ecf98d.jpg

Hogan's sitting out on his patio deck. He looks a bit distraught and worn out.

Hogan: I've been beaten down, I've been put out of action and I've been cheated out of the world title, all by you Gerry Morrow. However, what you did last week was unforgivable and inexcusable. You crossed the line brother and there's no coming back from that. You put fear into all those little Hulkamaniacs and I just can't live with that. It doesn't matter if WrestleRock is my last match in the AWA. The only thing that matters is ending Gerry Morrow once and for all.

Hogan stands up and rips off his shirt!

Hogan: So, I make a vow to all my Hulkamaniacs, last match or not, at WrestleRock, inside the steel cage, Gerry Morrow will pay for all his sins! I will personally make Gerry Morrow pay! I will make Gerry Morrow bleed! I will break every bone in Gerry Morrow's body! I'm going to snap Gerry Morrow's yellow spine in half! Gerry Morrow! You better damn well believe that I'll be in that cage at WrestleRock! And when that happens, whatcha gonna do when Hulk Hogan, the Hulkamainacs and Hulkamania run wild on youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!

Report

We see Demolition at a junkyard holding the AWA 6-Man titles

demoltion.jpg.bcb6bae6d288726c2908c59ff4c8a83b.jpg

Crush: Playtime is over!

Smash: We aint going to WrestleRock to wrestle, we're going to kick Tsurta, Saito and Hashimoto's teeth down their throat!

Ax: It's a showdown and it's time to put up or shut up! No more talking! We're going to defend these 6-Man titles and we're going to steamroll over all of them to retain!

The Heavenly Bodies are sitting at a table in a nightclub. Both sets of tag titles are on the table. They're surrounded by beautiful women and seem to be on top of the world.

heavenlybodies.jpg.4c94a776c5b647ec32b6ae7201694c15.jpg

Del Ray: This is the good life. When you're dual champions, you get to enjoy the perks.

Prichard: Everybody thought we lost touch with reality but last week we proved exactly why we're holding both sets of titles. At WrestleRock, we're going to show...uh...what are their names again?

Del Ray: (takes a sip of his drink) who?

Prichard" You know, those masked guys we're facing at WrestleRock

Del Ray: Oh...uuuummmm... I wanna say El Chicken and Mr. Moron

Prichard: (laughing) Yea, yea, I think that's it. Well, whatever, their names don't matter. What matters is that front page magazine picture of us holding both sets of these titles

Del Ray: Yea, that's the important part. Ok, tomorrow let's work on our victory pose.

Prichard: Great idea

This week's music video is set to RATT's round and round as we see highlights of the British Bombers and Guerreros trading wins at various arenas. They'll settle things at WrestleRock with a 30 minute iron man match

We see Greg Gagne in front of a wrestling ring. Behind him is his ace Frank Andersson putting on a wrestling exhibition. After he pins another man, Gagne gets on the apron and towels off Frank's forehead. Gagne looks at the towel.

ace2.jpg.4892045b127a0de53dac18e717945168.jpg

Gagne: Ace didn't even break a sweat. You know, that Bobby Blaze has some heart but I feel for the kid. He's a pretty good little wrestler but man is he about to be utterly embarrassed at WrestleRock. Don't worry about your future Bobby, my ace is looking for a new water boy and I'll be more than happy to hook you up with a job interview. (laughs) Keep your chin up Bobby Boy.

The Mavericks are standing in front of a WrestleRock banner

jw.jpg.91dbed90324fadf6d66a0e92ffbac219.jpgyoung.jpg.510b0180f8cdfff20c4f845d9d006757.jpg

JW: We're not going to cry about last week. But what we are going to do is bring all our pent up anger and take it out on you Austin Idol and your stooge sidekick Dundee

Young: Idol! Dundee!  This has gotten personal and the only way I'll be happy is when we drive your stupid heads through the mat! And I'll be even happier when we send you back into retirement Idol! You hear me darling.

We get another highlight reel of the RPMs and TCB going back and forth with inconclusive results. Magnum TA says this will get settled in a tornado match at WrestleRock.

Leo Burke walks out of a gym with a towel around his neck

leo.jpg.58f63c753bdcd84a011e3c74e6d9a6f1.jpg

Burke: It's do or die at WrestleRock. I know this might be my last chance at some gold and I'm taking that extremely seriously. Konnan says I won't be able to handle his best but Konnan, can you handle my best? My goal is to win that International title and Konnan, you're not going to stop me.

Konnan's working the heavy bag. He stops

konan2.jpg.b4fd5e8eeb6d471f9ebd3646bb44ec02.jpg

Konnan: Everybody keeps bringing up my loss to Leo Burke at Champagne Slam. They ask if my mind is right. Leo Burke beating me was the best thing that could've happened to me. That woke me up! At the beginning of the year, I unmasked to establish my identity and said I was going to be the greatest International wrestler ever and I intend to achieve that. That starts at WrestleRock when I win that International title. You beat me once Burke but I can guarantee that won't ever happen again!

And finally, we see the Ultimate Warrior standing in front of a sunset

warrior.jpg.e6e786b1ac28f3ad4ef50bf232fe1573.jpg

Warrior: The time has come Warriors. The time has come for me to prove to you that I am the one and only true warrior of wrestling. One warrior stands in my way. The Modern Day Warrior. Kerry Von Erich, the two of us will battle until only one survives. That warrior will be the one. That warrior will be the Ultimate Warriorrrrrrrrrrr!

Preview

Night 1

Friday, July 17th

Hiram Bithorn Stadium, San Juan Puerto Rico

Singing La Borinquena- Maria Conchita Alonso

Special appearance by- Hector Macho Camacho

Guest Commentator for the world title bout- Chicky Starr

Special post WrestleRock concert- The legendary Jose Feliciano

Los Boricuas vs. Rampage

During a TV match between these teams, Rampage attacked before the bell and gave Los Boricuas quite a beating. A couple weeks later, Los Boricuas returned the favor and attacked Rampage on the aisle while they were on their way to the ring. Tensions are high and this match will kick WrestleRock off.

The Cobra vs. 'The Love Machine' Art Barr w/The Vin Man

The Cobra returned from Japan in January and has been lighting it up with his high octane offense. Vinnie has been a managerial staple in the AWA for years. He took some time off and returned with Art Barr. Barr has taken offense to Cobra using the Frog Splash saying it doesn't even compare to his. Both Barr and Cobra have been scouting each other and playing mind games. All that aside, a lot of people think this match might steal the show.

Tornado Match

The RPMs vs. TCB w/Jackie

Bobby Walker and Mike Jones were very popular with the fans as the Soul Patrol. Jackie came into the picture and brought their aggressive side out even changing their team name to TCB. The RPMs have been in and out of the AWA and always remained at the top of the tag team division. This feud all started when TCB turned on Mike Davis during a 6 man tag when Tommy Lane was out with an injury. Since then, these two teams have been in an intense feud and their matches have led to several inconclusive results. Magnum wants this settled at WrestleRock in a tornado match.

AWA TV Title Bout

Gama Singh (C) vs. Iceman Parsons w/Jackie

Gama won the TV title at SuperClash and has been a fighting champion. Parsons acquired the services of Jackie and immediately became the number 1 contender to the TV title. Parsons scored a win over Gama (thanks to help from Jackie) in the Champagne Slam tournament. Parsons scored a countout win (thanks again to Jackie) over Gama at Title Night. Parsons also got the fall on Gama in a 6-Man tag match on TV. Parsons and Jackie are beyond confident that the odds are with them at WrestleRock. However, Gama has been very calm and says he'll be prepared for Jackie and he'll retain at WrestleRock.

30 minute Iron Man Match

The British Bombers vs. The Guerreros

These teams have been giving the fans some tremendous matches all over the loop and on TV. The win/loss records are even. The Guerreros say the only way the Bombers have gotten the best of them is because they cheat. The Bombers ignored this and simply said the Guerreros wont be able to keep up for 30 minutes. Magnum wants them to go all out at WrestleRock and settle this once and for all. Whichever team scores the most falls in 30 minutes, wins.

Taped Fist Match

'Unpredictable' Dick Slater vs. 'Rugged' Ron Garvin

Garvin and Slater dominated the AWA as world tag team champs. They were even on the winning team at War Games. During a title defense at Champagne Slam, Slater accidentally punched Garvin. Everything seemed to be worked out. At Title Night, Garvin accidentally punched Slater and this ended up costing them the titles against the Heavenly Bodies. Slater said the punch was intentional and things escalated in the weeks that followed which led to a match at the Mecca. They brawled to a double co, nothing solved. Magnum was told by both men they wanted this resolved so Magnum signed a taped fist match for WrestleRock. The last time these two were in the same building on TV, they had a wild melee. No doubt about it, this match is going to be a fight!

Latin Desire vs. The Tribal Nation

Latin Desire are two time AWA National Tag Team Champs and have had a great AWA run. Tribal Nation were on a roll but then went into a slump. Their frustration came out after a loss to Latin Desire. Tribal Nation attacked Latin Desire and banged them up pretty bad. Tribal Nation went through a spiritual cleansing and seemed to have been reborn. Latin Desire are healthy and promised to get payback. This gets settled at WrestleRock.

For the AWA International Title

Leo Burke vs. Konnan

Burke has had his ups and downs in the AWA but has scored some big wins at big events and has always been a fixture in the title scene. He's been on an incredible roll lately even getting a pin on Konnan at Champagne Slam. Burke says this might be his last opportunity at gold and is taking it very seriously. Konnan started the year by unmasking and claiming he was going to be the biggest International wrestling star ever. He was on his way until suffering that pin against Burke, which eliminated him from a world title opportunity. Konnan says that loss woke him up and now he's more focused than ever. He promises to win that International title at WrestleRock.

AWA World Tag Team Title Match

The Heavenly Bodies (C) vs. Mil Mascaras and El Canek

Canek and Mascaras are masked legends and decided to team up. Their chemistry was unreal and they earned this title shot by winning the tag team battle royal at the Mecca. The celebration was short lived as the Heavenly Bodies attacked them from behind and laid them out with their titles. The Heavenly Bodies were the National tag champs and then won the world titles from Dick Slater and Ron Garvin. Being dual champs has gone to their heads. They've been out at night clubs, doing photo shoots, appearing on TV and Radio talk shows. They show blatant disrespect by acting like they don't know their WrestleRock opponent's names. This all could really come back and bite them because they're dealing with two of the world's best wrestlers.

AWA World Title Bout

Kokina (C) w/Adnan Al-Kassie vs. Carlos Colon

Kokina shocked the wrestling world by winning Champagne Slam and the vacated AWA world title. Since then he's been on a terror. At Title Night, International Champ, Carlos Colon announced that he was relinquishing his title to go for the world title. The news got bigger and better when Magnum told Colon he would get his title shot at WrestleRock in his homeland of Puerto Rico. Colon has been training in Puerto Rico and the masses of fans have turned out to support him. Things have gotten heated. At the contract signing in Puerto Rico, Kokina and Adnan tried to attack Colon but Colon got the best of them. During another TV taping, Adnan distracted Colon as Kokina attacked Colon and bloodied him up. A week later a bandaged up Colon ran out and attacked Kokina which took several people to break them apart. Colon says he's bringing the world title to Puerto Rico but Adnan says Kokina will destroy Colon in front of all his loved ones.

Night 2

Saturday July 18th

The Metrodome, Minneapolis MN

Singing America the Beautiful- Gladys Knight

Special guest commentator for the main event- Mr. T

Special post WrestleRock concert- Foreigner

Bobby Blaze vs. Frank 'The Ace' Andersson w/Greg Gagne

Bobby Blaze has been a solid hand in the AWA, a real workhorse. Greg Gagne announced he was going on a world tour to scout out the perfect wrestler, his Ace. He went to Sweden and found Frank Andersson, a multi medal winning wrestler. He brought the Ace here and said the fans would have to pay to watch his AWA debut. He gave the AWA 2 weeks to find an opponent. They chose Bobby Blaze. Gagne was very disappointed and laughed at Blaze's name being chosen. Gagne gave in and said at least the Ace will get to give the fans a high caliber wrestling exhibition. Gagne even said he'll hook Blaze up with an interview to be the Ace's water boy. Blaze has remained unfazed by their arrogance.

The Missouri Tiger vs. Scott 'Flash' Norton w/Ted Arcidi

For weeks, Norton was on TV doing open challenge arm wrestling matches. He did show off his amazing skill each week and had no problem putting his opponents arms down. Then he would hurl them over the top rope for his and Arcidi's amusement. One week, the Missouri Tiger answered the challenge. During the arm wrestling match, Arcidi clocked Tiger which led to Norton body slamming Tiger through the arm wrestling table. Arcidi and Norton laughed about this for weeks. After a match on TV, Tiger came back and nailed both of them with a flying shoulder tackle from the top rope, that sent both men rolling out of the ring. If you like power matches, then this will be for you.

'Tidal Wave' Tommy Jammer vs. A Mystery Opponent

Jammer says he ready to ride that wave of the unknown at WrestleRock.

'Maniac' Matt Borne vs. Sam Houston

Houston has been beating opponents up and for weeks demanded an opponent at WrestleRock. Borne returned to the AWA and immediately signed the contract. Houston says that Brawny Man wannabe doesn't stand a chance against a real cowboy and he's gonna get a bunkhouse whoop'n at WrestleRock. I hope he knows who he's dealing with.

Bad News Brown vs. Maxx Payne

Payne has had a turbulent run in the AWA. He was suspended for purposely injuring an opponent with the Payne Kiler. Bad News Brown is a former AWA world champion and was making his AWA return. Payne was playing a riff on Norma Jean when Brown came out. This rubbed Payne the wrong way and he smacked the back of Brown's head with the guitar, knocking Brown unconscious. Magnum was going to fire Payne but Brown said no. Magnum gave Brown his wish and signed this match for WrestleRock. Payne has been playing eerie tunes with Norma Jean that has freaked Larry Nelson out. Aside from talking with Magnum about this match, Brown hasn't been seen or heard from since the guitar shot.

The Mavericks vs. 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol and 'Superstar' Bill Dundee

Idol took Gary Young under his wing and added JW Storm and Ricky Santana. Austin's Idols won the 6-Man titles and things were going smooth. Until Idol signed them for an open challenge title defense at Title Night. Demolition answered the challenge and quickly won the titles. Idol was humiliated. He paid the Japanese to beat up Storm. Santana left the AWA. Idol brought in his new client, Bill Dundee. Young wanted answers. Idol berated him and told Young he wasn't cut out for this business. Dundee called Young pathetic. Young and Dundee wrestled the following week which led to Idol and Dundee double teaming Young. JW Storm returned and helped Young. The Mavericks were back. The last straw was when Idol and Dundee costed the Mavericks a chance at the world tag titles. The pissed off Mavericks challenged Idol and Dundee to a match. Dundee laughed at them and Idol said he would be glad to come out of retirement to teach these ungrateful punks a lesson. The Mavericks can't wait to crush Dundee and send Idol back into retirement.

Street Fight

The Magnificent Muraco vs. Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich w/Tully Blanchard

This one goes back aways with Muraco and Tully. Muraco was one of Hogan's strongest allies against the Horsemen. Tully constantly interfered in Muraco's matches and made his life hell. Muraco got his payback and made Tully bleed and suffer in the War Games. Tommy Rich is another former AWA world champ and made his return to compete at Champagne Slam to get the title he claimed is rightfully his. We all saw Rich's involvement with Gerry Morrow to screw Hogan over at Champagne Slam. This didn't sit well with Muraco. On TV, Rich came out wearing a suit and gloating about how he outsmarted Hulk Hogan. Muraco came out, beat Tommy up and ripped the suit off him. A couple weeks later, they had a match on TV but out of nowhere, Tully Blanchard returned and costed Muraco the match. Rich even put Muraco out for a while by piledriving him on a chair. Muraco eventually came back and whooped up on Tommy while Tully ran out of there. Weeks later, Tully and Rich jumped Muraco and poured garbage all over him. Rich and Tully came out with Gerry Morrow and said Muraco will be taken care of. Muraco cut his most passionate promo and swore to take out both Rich and Tully.

The Big Bossman vs. The Hangman w/Nell

At Champagne Slam, Bossman and Hangman both went over the top rope, eliminating each other. Nell gave Bossman a glare which meant only one thing, Bossman was the next poor soul targeted. Hangman attacked Bossman at TV and actually choked and hung him over the top rope with his noose. Nell gave ominous promos on Bossman the following weeks. Bossman returned with a vengeance and put Nell down, then put Hangman down with his nightstick. Nell says the Hangman will make Bossman obsolete at WrestleRock while Bossman says he's going to administer law, order and justice! Will Bossman be the one to finally put the Hangman down or will he be another fallen soul.

The Ultimate Warrior vs. 'The Modern Day Warrior' Kerry Von Erich

Kerry has been red hot in the AWA. He helped Hogan in his war with the Horsemen and was triumphant at War Games. Kerry also hasn't been defeated since coming back. The Ultimate Warrior shocked the wrestling world by coming to the AWA. He said he came to the AWA for a mission. To prove he is the Ultimate Warrior. In order to prove this he had to challenge the Modern Day Warrior. Two warriors will battle and only one will be victorious. Both men have shown the upmost respect and realize it's the only way. They will put it all out there at WrestleRock and we're going to find out who is the one true warrior in the AWA. This one's going to be a match of epic proportions.

AWA 6-Man Tag Title Bout

Demolition (C) vs. Jumbo Tsuruta, Mr. Saito and Shinya Hashimoto

Demolition exploded on the AWA scene by winning the 6-Man titles at Title Night. Gerry Morrow made a brilliant move by putting the Japanese on the payroll of Morrow Industries. They have been involved in many attacks on Hulk Hogan. Demolition said they were looking for a fight. Hogan gave them one and this feud was on. These teams have been involved in a lot of brawls since. With this kind of mass humanity and intensity, this match is going to be hard hitting and brutal.

Steel Cage Match!

Hulk Hogan vs. 'Champagne' Gerry Morrow w/Brenda Britton

Wow, where do we begin? Gerry Morrow has had one hell of a time in the AWA. He took a hiatus from the ring and was hired as the AWA C.O.O. along with Brenda Britton as his personal assistant. He did a great job and made a lot of smart decisions that is until SuperClash. He appointed himself as the special referee in the Flair/Hogan world title bout. This is where things took a turn. It appeared that Morrow was bribed by Tully Blanchard and he basically screwed Hulk Hogan over. An investigation went down. Through some miracle, Morrow's high paid lawyers were able to get him off.

Morrow actually had the balls to show up on TV. He of course was confronted by Hogan. A match was set. Anything goes. When match time came, Hogan was brutally attacked by Tsuruta, Saito and Hashimoto. He was triple powerbombed 3 times and then suffered the despicable actions of Morrow. Morrow even spit champagne in Hogan's face.

The world title was held up and a tournament was set. Hogan was cleared at the last minute and made it in. Both Hogan and Morrow advanced to Champagne Slam. Morrow won his match to advance to the battle royal. Tommy Rich was going against Hogan but Rich and Morrow were in cahoots and a BS DQ finish saw Hogan eliminated from the tournament. In the back, Hogan beat up and bloodied Morrow so bad that Morrow wasn't able to compete.

Weeks later, Morrow and the Japanese got the best of Hogan again. Hogan evened up the odds by getting Demolition on his side. Magnum signed the steel cage match for WrestleRock. Then the buzz behind the scenes was leaked out that WrestleRock could be Hogan's last match in the AWA. Morrow told Hogan he could leave with dignity if he would just forfeit and declare him the winner. Hogan said no way in hell. Since then Morrow has promised that Hogan will not make it to WrestleRock.

The last act by Morrow went over the line. As Hogan was receiving a trophy at a fundraiser, Brenda sprayed Hogan's eyes with something and blinded him. Morrow then smashed the trophy over Hogan's back. Morrow said this sealed the deal and he will be at WrestleRock to get his forfeit victory and have the biggest toast in wrestling history. Hogan cut an intense promo and said last AWA match or not, he will end Gerry Morrow once and for all.

Will this be Hogan's last AWA hurrah? Will Morrow indeed have the biggest champagne celebratory toast of all time? Or will Hulkamania continue to run wild? We'll find out at WrestleRock.

Calling double juice on the Slater vs. Garvin match. Triple ... ref gets busted open too.

My call is Hogan still getting the W on his way out the door,

Night One feels perfectly designed for Puerto Rico, with Carlos Colon challenging Kokina providing a huge hometown main event. The card has excellent variety, especially Cobra–Barr, the Iron Man tag match, and the taped-fist fight between Garvin and Slater. Mascaras and Canek challenging the arrogant Heavenly Bodies also feels special. This should have an incredible crowd and a completely different atmosphere from Night Two.

Night Two feels like a strong conclusion to WrestleRock. Hogan and Morrow has a ton of history behind it and absolutely belongs inside a steel cage, while Warrior vs. Kerry feels like a genuine special attraction. Muraco and Rich should be a great street fight, and the rest of the card has plenty of variety. Every match has a clear reason for happening, which makes this feel like a major event rather than just a collection of matches.

Los Boriquas halt the Rampage.

Barr wins the battle for the Frog Splashes. Too bad Vin Man slept through the whole thing.

The RPMs definitely took care of business tonight.

The Nation came prepared for war.

Jackie's men go 0 for 2.

Los Guerreros win by a hair (and a roll of coins).

Norman is coming.

I don't think anyone is buying Slater as the toughest after that win.

Between Konnan and Canek>Mascaras the lucha lovers are eating well on night one.

I hope Chicky had armed security with him after screwing over Colon like that.

Awesome show where I thought you did a great job in giving the fans in Puerto Rico what they wanted.... untilt the end.  I really hope that there was security for Kokina, Adnan Al Kassie and CHICKY STARR.  From what I have heard, that was as dangerous a venue as there was in North America.

Also, being a fan of early 80's wrestling, I loved the Garvin-Slater match.  Perfect way to end it!

Awesome job.  Can't wait for Night 2

What a hell of a show.

Wrestlerock was absolutely amazing from start to finish.

Be proud of this one man. You posted an awesome show.

I loved Hogan "leaving" AWA on a high note. If this is the end what a match to go out on, and leaving the fans happy, but if he does leave. I think your AWA is going to be in great hands especially with The Ultimate Warrior coming in. I can already see Warrior/Kokina being a HUGE money maker for the AWA.

Awesome show!! You put so much effort into these big shows and they are so fun to read.  Thanks for all your hard work.

The biggest surprise of the night for me came early when Bobby Blaze beat Gagne's man.  I thought cry baby Gagne would find some way to get his man over.  Can't wait to see what Gagne does next.

Col. Debeers is truly a great heel!

Enjoying Muraco as a babyface.  I only really remember his heel rin in WWF.  Great ending.  Not only beating Wildfire but making Tully utter the words, "I quit"---AWESOME

Great match between the Warriors--- Is the Ultimate Warrior next for Kokina or is Hulk not really done.  AWA is always interesting!
