I feel like that match didn't rise to a climax or crescendo.

Yeah, the finisher exchange did not get the crowd going. Like Timbo says, they were probably expecting something much crazier as a finishing stretch.

Not every match needs a million finishers and 2.9 kickouts. A nice contrast to Omega-Ospreay

Yeah, it’s not necessarily a bad thing - the finish made logical sense for the match. It’s kind of refreshing, actually.

I do think it’s curious that Omega/Ospreay got as much time as they did vs. what was allotted for Danielson/Okada, though.

I loved the match, it's just that I understand why the crowd wasn't going crazy in the final minutes.

Danielson does have a knack for having surprise finishes to matches. Last big one that came out of nowhere was when he debuted the running knee and beat John fucking Cena with it.

I could go on for hours about the commentary and Renee . And I will on Mystery Titans Theatre eventually. Listening to Kelly try to figure out how to professionally work with passive aggressive motor mouth Excalibur, Taz, and useless Tony and succeeding was something else.

That was brought up. A lot of good matchups there.

I’m now pretty convinced the seizure spot was on the fly considering it was right after the elbow drop. And that his quip about the magician not revealing his secrets was along those lines.

AEW has way, way more injuries than WWE. Hard to think of talent that hasn't missed time in some form or another. Then you have guys like Malakai Black and Moxley taking mental health breaks, MJF disappeared for a while. It is a luxury and necessity for them to have a large roster and work with outside promotions.

It’s true but there have been some freak injuries, as well, like tonight. I’d much rather they think about taking care of their talent the best they can. They even keep dudes out of matches because of the flu. It hits on both extremes.

Also, Jeff Hardy showing up and immediately disappearing. It's ironic of all wrestlers that Darby Allin hasn't been hurt or missed time since the inception of AEW. Jericho, despite a brief health scare and a broken nose, is another iron man that hasn't been injured or taken any leave of absence since day one.

The Jeff Hardy thing was more about him not being able to go to Canada where they were doing a run of shows than any of the usual reasons.

I think you're right, I think it was half him assessing the damage and probably half getting the word to Okada.

Also it might have been a legit "I just broke my fucking arm" convulsion as well.
