Jmare007 Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Just now, Dav'oh said: I feel like that match didn't rise to a climax or crescendo. Yeah, the finisher exchange did not get the crowd going. Like Timbo says, they were probably expecting something much crazier as a finishing stretch. Quote
The Man in Blak Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 I feel like we’re going to hear some stories about that finish. Quote
Ricky Jackson Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Perfect finish, even if it caught the crowd by surprise Quote
KawadaSmile Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Okada tapped to the man who couldn't beat Roman Reigns. Sad!!! Guess he just can't hang with the big boys!!!!! Quote
Ricky Jackson Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Not every match needs a million finishers and 2.9 kickouts. A nice contrast to Omega-Ospreay Quote

A nice contrast to Omega-Ospreay Yeah, it’s not necessarily a bad thing - the finish made logical sense for the match. It’s kind of refreshing, actually. I do think it’s curious that Omega/Ospreay got as much time as they did vs. what was allotted for Danielson/Okada, though. Quote
Timbo Slice Posted June 26, 2023 Author Report Posted June 26, 2023 I think a return match at WK18 is in the cards. Quote
Jmare007 Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 I loved the match, it's just that I understand why the crowd wasn't going crazy in the final minutes. Danielson does have a knack for having surprise finishes to matches. Last big one that came out of nowhere was when he debuted the running knee and beat John fucking Cena with it. Quote
Jmare007 Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Btw, thank you to @NintendoLogic for giving Tony the heads up about the Final Countdown being available. Quote
Timbo Slice Posted June 26, 2023 Author Report Posted June 26, 2023 Media scrum starting late, kinda weird. Danielson needed to be told no with the seizures. Took away a lot from the stretch run. Quote
MLB Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 No sign of Kota Ibushi at FD, is he still in negotiations with NJPW? Quote
Johnny Sorrow Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 That was a good show. Not THE GREATEST CARD EVER, EVER , EVER!" Like Young and the others were hyping it during the pre show. Quote
MLB Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Young? Are you talking about Renee Moxley-Good? Quote
Johnny Sorrow Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 I could go on for hours about the commentary and Renee . And I will on Mystery Titans Theatre eventually. Listening to Kelly try to figure out how to professionally work with passive aggressive motor mouth Excalibur, Taz, and useless Tony and succeeding was something else. Quote
Timbo Slice Posted June 26, 2023 Author Report Posted June 26, 2023 Broken arm for Danielson, out 6-8 weeks. Wrestled last 10 minutes with it. Quote
Jmare007 Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Fucking injuries, we were going to get Danielson vs Ishii on Dynamite.... Quote
Perfectly Straightedge Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Happen on the elbow drop from Okada that’s wild. Bryan did a great job at explaining sometimes the easiest spots will hurt you. Quote

Timbo Slice Posted June 26, 2023 Author Report Posted June 26, 2023 That was brought up. A lot of good matchups there. I’m now pretty convinced the seizure spot was on the fly considering it was right after the elbow drop. And that his quip about the magician not revealing his secrets was along those lines. Quote
MLB Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 AEW has way, way more injuries than WWE. Hard to think of talent that hasn't missed time in some form or another. Then you have guys like Malakai Black and Moxley taking mental health breaks, MJF disappeared for a while. It is a luxury and necessity for them to have a large roster and work with outside promotions. Quote
Timbo Slice Posted June 26, 2023 Author Report Posted June 26, 2023 It’s true but there have been some freak injuries, as well, like tonight. I’d much rather they think about taking care of their talent the best they can. They even keep dudes out of matches because of the flu. It hits on both extremes. Quote
MLB Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 Also, Jeff Hardy showing up and immediately disappearing. It's ironic of all wrestlers that Darby Allin hasn't been hurt or missed time since the inception of AEW. Jericho, despite a brief health scare and a broken nose, is another iron man that hasn't been injured or taken any leave of absence since day one. Quote
sek69 Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 The Jeff Hardy thing was more about him not being able to go to Canada where they were doing a run of shows than any of the usual reasons. 1 hour ago, Timbo Slice said: I’m now pretty convinced the seizure spot was on the fly considering it was right after the elbow drop. And that his quip about the magician not revealing his secrets was along those lines. I think you're right, I think it was half him assessing the damage and probably half getting the word to Okada. Also it might have been a legit "I just broke my fucking arm" convulsion as well. Quote
Mr JMML Posted June 26, 2023 Report Posted June 26, 2023 I only hope that Danielson's arm will be okay for Wembley. Quote
