Scarlet-Left
Really cool to see Davey Boy Smith get such a competitive match with the world champion! The Hart Foundation look like monsters here! Loved the drama in the main event, and the post-match!
Control21
The buildup for Savage vs Warrior has been very well done. I love the way the Von Erichs are being used as well. Lots of good stuff happening in WWF this month.
spaldoni
I think the Rockers want to make sure they get the best from Demolition at Mania. Bulldog looked like a million bucks, but Savage was great with these kinds of finishes. What's Sherri's deal with Martel? With Muta on the horizon, now is not the time for Martel to be distracted. What a way to showcase Earthquake! Muta looks strong heading into Mania. On the other hand, Warrior gets his momentum back in a heartbeat. Savage vs. Warrior is the exact Mania main event the WWF needs after the departure of Hogan. This is going to Rock!

LowBlowPodcast
3/25 Superstars of Wrestling with Vince McMahon & Jesse Ventura WRESTLEMANIA SHOWDOWN EDITION! Shawn Michaels vs Smash Really a fun contest between two of the better tag wrestlers in the WWF… they go toe to toe right in the middle of the ring for 12-minutes. We have Ax come down first… then Jannetty… the finish is fun… Smash takes over and he looks for a big powerslam… when he runs Michaels pushes him off and Smash hits the turnbuckle… he turns around and RUNNING SUPERKICK! Smash goes down for the 1…2….3!! Ax jumps right in the ring as Jannetty helps Michaels… Ax then comes over and he starts bad mouthing both of them before throwing Michaels out of the ring to the floor! Face to Face with Muta and Martel These two come face to face… as it were… with Muta all gussied up in his attire. Paul E does most of the talking and lets Martel know exactly where he stands in the scheme of things… near the bottom! Martel tries to chime in but Paul E is running his mouth big time… Martel then says that if Muta has something to say… he should say it… take off that mask and show the world your face… just then Muta removes the headdress… but wait… that isn’t Muta… That’s Sherri! She was all bundled up in the suit… Martel can’t make sense of it… now wait… Muta is behind him… he turns Martel around and MYSTS him right in the face! Martel is writhing in pain on the ground… Sherri runs off one way and then Paul E and Muta go the other! Rick Steiner w/ Scott Steiner vs Mike Rotundo w/ Kevin Sullivan This is a contest that many have been waiting for. Rick and Scott look like a million $$ out here… and Rotundo is such a pro. We see some good amateur wrestling to get things going before Sullivan sticks his nose into things. This causes Scott to come over and pummel him… only for Dan Spivey to show up out of the back and jump in the ring to give Rick a huge Boot to the Mush and then a powerbomb. Rotundo rolls him up with a handful of tights and we’ve got a winner… or so it seems. Face to Face with Warrior and Savage Big segment with these two… both men bring their A game… Warrior is going on about some nonsense regarding his destiny and the sacrifice of the ultimate macho man will bring him closer to the gods and secure his spaceship to parts unknown. Savage looks at him and runs him through the ringer about living in a fantasy world but reality is soon going to strike him like a bolt of lightning and brother it is going to burn… it’s going to burn you right to the ground… and just when you thought you might be able to recover… I am going to drop my elbow through your heart and put you out of your misery! Warrior and Savage go face to face… Warrior starts to talk but Savage slaps him in the face! They are nose to nose now… we have got officials and agents out here… Savage is being escorted to the back while Warrior is welcoming the fight. We see Savage stop, right in the middle of the aisle and he looks out in the crowd… he yells what is she doing here? The camera pans but we can’t see who he’s referencing. Dusty Rhodes vs Greg Valentine w/ Jimmy Hart A good main event… Dusty works the fans into a frenzy… Valentine gets some good heat… We see Jimmy getting involved when he can. Soon we see Dino come out… but that brings out Kerry Von Erich… then Honky… then we see Kevin Von Erich… before too long we’ve got a hug six-man brawl… Jimmy is screaming to the back and here comes the Earthquake! Quake walks down the aisle and Kevin goes up to nail him but Quake throws him into the guardrail! Quake comes from behind and nails Kerry Von Erich and puts him down. Quake gets in the ring and he attacks Dusty from behind. Rhodes has won this match via DQ… but the finish is when The Hart Foundation hold down Dusty and Earthquake hits the SMASH right on his chest! OMG! The officials come down but the Hart Foundation walk off with a victory… Rhodes is hurt… could this be their fate this weekend? Event Center:Final Card for WrestleMania 5 Event Center: Matches already signed for WrestleMania 5 Randy Savage vs Ultimate Warrior - WWF title Kerry Von Erich & Kevin vs Honky Tonk Man & Greg Valentine w/ Jimmy Hart Demolition vs Rockers - Tag Titles Dusty Rhodes vs Dino Bravo w/ Jimmy Hart Rick Martel vs Great Muta w/ Paul E- IC title Steiners vs Varsity Club w/ Kevin Sullivan Brutus Beefcake vs Terry Taylor - HAIR MATCH Hercules vs Big Bossman w/ Slick Davey Boy Smith vs One Man Gang w/ Slick Hacksaw Duggan vs Haku w/ Heenan Tito Santana vs Rick Rude w/ Heenan Snuka & Andre vs Warlord & Barbarian w/ Fuji
Autistic Dragon
I like the idea of a short show to hype the big event. We may have only gotten three matches but they all meant something. Just what the hell is Sherri up to? Whatever it is, she helped the Dangerous Alliance pull off a classic on Martel. Speaking of classics, Macho Man pulls off the old slap n run. kevinmcfl
Sorry for falling so far behind here. Awesome build up to Wrestlemania. I loved reading about Andre shoving the money in Fuji's mouth... great visual. Your promos with Savage and Warrior have been awesome! Can't wait to see where you go with some off your big matches. It will tell a lot about which way you are going with the WWF. You have so many choices with the roster you've built up.
Scarlet-Left
Dusty Rhodes versus Greg Valentine is a lovely TV main event!
spaldoni
Perfect go home show for Mania. I always liked tag wrestlers going at it in singles competition before a big tag title bout. Martel, Paul E, Sherri and Muta were all on their A game during that segment. That match is a potential show stealer. The Varsity Club and Steiners are going to tear the house down. Savage was the master of the slap LOL. I wonder who Savage saw? hmmmmmmm Fun main event. Earthquake is really getting the push. Bring on Mania! LowBlowPodcast
April 1 - WWF Prime Time Wrestling w/ Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan All the fallout from WrestleMania is covered. We hear about Savage retaining the WWF title, Muta winning the Intercontintenal Championship, and Demolition retaining the Tag Team Championships. Heenan says he’s going to put a team together to challenge for those US tag titles… Gorilla says that the Rockers will be defending the titles on April the 22nd on a special Superstars of Wrestling Live. They will go against Rhythm and Blues. Gorilla and Bobby also talk about the Big Bossman and his incident with Randy Savage the other night… We see the post WrestleMania press conference… at the stage we’ve got Demolition, Muta and Paul E, Dusty Rhodes, Rick Rude, Bobby Heenan, and Randy Savage. Everyone is putting over the event until a ruckus is heard… it’s the Big Bossman! The Bossman is being held back by security and he is giving Savage the business… he is telling him that he’s the true number one contender and it is time he puts up the title like a man. Dusty Rhodes chimes in to let Bossman know he is good for nothing… Heenan tries to talk and Dusty tells him to keep quiet… Bossman is now getting closer to the stage and he throws a glass of water at Savage… “Come on Boi! Come on Boi” but Dusty of all people jumps up and we’ve got a hockey style brawl with shirts being pulled. Savage gets involved and Bossman pulls out the Night Stick and NAILS him right in the skull! Savage goes down as Rhodes chases Bossman off. Savage does a nasty blade job and the last images we see are of him, busted wide open, laying on the concrete floor… Gorilla and Bobby then stir around the idea of Rude being the number one contender but Savage says that they have an agreement. We hear about some newcomers and returning stars here in the WWF. We get two different return/debuts The Dynamic Dudes (Shane & Johnny) defeated Ken Young and Mark Strong Kamala w/ Mr. Fuji defeated Bob Wilkins & Geoffrey George Gorilla and Bobby come back to put over the Superstars of Wrestling event on the 22nd here on the USA Network. Bobby says he will be in attendance and so will the family. We hear that Andre the Giant will team with Tito Santana and Jimmy Snuka to take on the Powers of Pain and Kamala…. But Mr. Fuji is saying he has an even bigger surprise for Andre. He says the war is far from over! Brutus Beefcake defeated John Demspey <<<< Then gave him a haircut Dino Bravo w/ Jimmy & The Earthquake defeated Phil Simmons Gorilla and Bobby come back to put over the haircut match at WrestleMania and how the Terry Taylor is going to have a hard time getting the red out of his hair. Heenan says he looks like a rooster. Hmmm… then we hear about Dino Bravo and how we’ll see the debut of the Earthquake next week on Superstars. We also hear that a main event has been set for the Superstars live on April the 22nd, we’ll see Dusty Rhodes taking on the Big Bossman with the winner getting a shot at Randy Savage. We have some news from the event center…. We hear from Paul E who says that the Dangerous Alliance is coming together and he welcomes in Sherri and Muta. He says that this is a group that will tear the WWF down to its very foundations and they are just getting started. We hear from the Big Bossman who really lays into Randy Savage and now Dusty Rhodes. These two are on a collision course! Hacksaw Jim Duggan chimes in to let us know that he’s got an eye on Dino Bravo and another eye on Jimmy Hart. He hears that Bravo is going to try and take Duggan’s American Flag… but Duggan says he’ll fight for Ol Glory until he can’t fight no more! We then hear from the Macho Man… still heel at this point… putting down Dusty Rhodes and the Big Bossman. He has got the bandage on his head and he says he might be a little crazy… yeah… he might have a screw loose because wants both of them! Mean Gene ends the event center with news that the Ultimate Warrior has not been seen since WrestleMania… the search for the Warrior has begun! Gorilla and Bobby come back with some more push of WrestleMania. We hear about stars like the British Bulldog and the Steiners who look to be on the rise. Stars like Tito Santana who is looking to get back on the winning side. We’ve got two big matches to finish up the night… Hercules defeated Kevin Jackson The Steiner Brothers defeated the Bolshiveiks We see the Varsity Club come back out… and Kevin Sullivan put over how they have been aimless recently… but now they have a focus… they have a mind that could put them into the stratosphere… here he is… from the Alma Mater… with a PhD is Wrestlign Psychology….the one… the only… the Genius! The Steiner Brothers a duo of two They share a brain that is less than half of a monkey crew Your intelligence is weak just like your Alma Mater Who has ever been afraid of a Wolverine…. I lead my men to victory on the field of battle We are going to beat you so bad that you’ll have to run and tattle But tell whomever you can think of just don’t get your hopes up too high Becauce when the Varsity Club is finished with you - everyone will see you and sigh
Autistic Dragon
Bossman and Dusty are getting ready to fight each other for a time shot but Savage says "screw it send'em both!" Lanny probably could've work shopped that poem.
Control21
Savage/Bossman/Dusty is a title build trio I did not see coming, but one I quite like! Pairing the Steiners with The Genius is a great move. He could be a great "advocate" for them.
LowBlowPodcast
The WWF held a very interesting house show last night at State College in Pennsylvania... US tag Titles - The Rockers defeated The Powers of Pain WWF tag Titles - Demolition defeated The Varsity Club but only Spivey and Sullivan - Genius and Rotundo were no shows Intercontinental Championship - Muta went to a 29-minute work-a-thon with Martel before defeating him Andre the Giant defeated Haku In what may go down as history... Randy Savage defeated Dusty Rhodes & The Big Bossman in a Triangle match when Rick Rude got involved and caused a DQ. This was said to be very messy with Savage working both face and heel - Rhodes as face - and Bossman as heel. Rhodes and Savage cleared the ring but then acted like they were going to go at one another until Elizabeth showed up to pull Savage out of the ring... Autistic Dragon
An interesting main event. A three-way dance between three old fashioned workers like these runs the risk of going off the rails. But the main focus is Savage going back and forth with his alignment against each opponent.
spaldoni
Solid aftermath from Mania. What happened to Warrior???? Sherri is officially in the Dangerous Alliance. The Genius's poem was classic. Very interesting main event scene. Savage as the tweener. Bossman and Rhodes vying for a world title shot. And now throw in Rude. Looking forward to watching all this unfold.
