Bix
I hate this shit SO MUCH. WRESTLING superstar John Cena has blasted former WWE champion The Rock for turning his back on the business. Cena, who has managed to combine acting and grappling, feels that Rocky has betrayed his fans by concentrating solely on Hollywood. Rock will make a one-off appearance at this year's WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony to induct his dad and granddad, but John told us: "He is a genuinely nice guy and a fantastic human being. "What I kind of get peeved about, and this is my Achilles heel, is that I've wanted to do this my whole life. "Rock falls into that category. At one point he loved wrestling and wanted to do this all his life. "So explain to me why he can't come back. "Simply put it's because he wants to be an actor and there's nothing wrong with that. He's very good and very successful. Associating with sports entertainment doesn't do much for his acting career. I get it. "Just don't f*** me around and tell me that you love this. "That's the only thing that gets me really p***ed off. "Our fan base have so much admiration for him, he's got to respect that. He doesn't give anything back." Tim Evans
A Anti Cena thread? Say it ain't so? Rock vs Cena would make huge money. Those Youtube shooters would kill YouTube with that.
Cox
It's funny, because even while I'm reading this, I swear I can see Vince's lips moving from afar.
floyd
I'm guessing he makes more money and isn't in constant pain by fake acting then fake acting AND taking bumps.
Boondocks Kernoodle
He's just towing the company line. I'm sure Vince, HHH and Stephanie, as well as a number of wrestlers, feel the same way. Even if they're wrong.

Boondocks Kernoodle
I'd like to think WWE would be a little smarter than to start their biggest angle in years via a small-time article in the British press, STAN.
tomk
OK I'm not going to listen to actual interview but the entire page of pull quotes (not just the Rock one) all read like one douchebag statement after another. For a guy who normally handles himself well in the media: just it all comes off douchey.
Loss
Anyone think this is the start of an angle An angle? No. An attempt for Cena to get some publicity by being discussed alongside The Rock? Possibly. That said, I'm sure people like HHH and Michaels have this conversation amongst themselves all the time, and Cena has probably heard it so many times among key people in WWE that he believes it. Kinda like Ric Flair and his views on Montreal.
PeteF3
While I don't disagree that Cena comes off poorly here, the Sun is a rag that makes Fox News look like a bastion of journalistic integrity--no quote is too small to cherry-pick or misrepresent. I'd take anything printed in it with a five-pound bag of salt.

I'd take anything printed in it with a five-pound bag of salt. I just listened to the interview and it's pretty much verbatim I don't see how he could have planned saying this, he pretty much answered the Rock question right away with a condescending tone, so yeah it's not an angle Anyone think this is the start of an angle Kinda like Ric Flair and his views on Montreal. Yeah you would think Shawn conned Ric pretty good, I mean I hear he's not only retiring him but inducting him at the HOF. Flair had to request that

Wrestlers who take steroids claiming it's for 'testosterone replacement therapy' - "Maybe somebody who's become anaemic, or is terminally ill, is the only person who I would suggest needs that. I don't buy or believe any of that. "Any time somebody is busted in our system it's a 30 day suspension. You know what it should be? Call the authorities and have somebody f***ing go to jail." Can someone listen to the podcast and verify these pull quotes?

sek69
Man, did Cena owe money to Ken Kennedy and decide to repay him by raising the bar of dumb comments made by WWE workers? The Rock comments seem to be more HHH's opinion than Vince's. Hasn't he always been jealous of Rock getting movie roles when Hunter can't land any part better than Flunky #3 in that one Blade sequel? Any time somebody is busted in our system it's a 30 day suspension. You know what it should be? Call the authorities and have somebody f***ing go to jail." Man, that quote needs to be photoshopped on a photo of him as the Prototype. A LOLCena, if you wheeeel.
Resident Evil
I find the idea (granted it comes off as exaggeration to make a point) of putting roid users in jail interesting but before we'd do that that means we'd have to put all wine/beer drinkers and smokers/other drug users to jail too since those drugs are a much worse problem to society. Loss
Any time somebody is busted in our system it's a 30 day suspension. You know what it should be? Call the authorities and have somebody f***ing go to jail. The other may have been more HHH influence, but the use of the word "authorities" suggests Vince is talking through Cena on this point. It's just missing the phrases "In any event" and "Notwithstanding" ... I wonder if Cena also believes that people from suburban Massachusetts should be quarantined and that steak should be taken off the market because of its tendency to cause high cholesterol. Tha Are you aware that alcohol is legal? Yes. I know a lot about alcohol since my family has a lot of alcoholics in it. To some people it's illegal -- If you're too young for instance Roids are legal for some people But that's beside the point. Being legal or not has no meaning on what I'm trying to say and that is that the effects of other drugs are much, much more of a problem to society than roids. So other drug users are the ones that should go to jail first on a moral basis if were were to theoretically live in a society where drug users went to jail. I'm just fooling around Loss. Also, Cena being hypervigilant about TRT (anemia and terminal illness?!?!?!) to make it seem like he hates steroids more than his bosses hate black people is hilarious. sek69
What happened to prompt Cena to go off so harshly? He's normally way more media savvy than that. Especially bashing a guy who's going to be showing up to induct his family in your company's Hall of Fame.
