  1. For what it’s worth, apparently the ring is heated. It is supposedly a special ring they purchased that is heated specifically for outdoor events like this. That doesn’t mean the fans and announcers aren’t freezing, of course.
  2. So Kofi sees a guy spinning a ladder around his head, and his plan is to run directly into it, face first. Oookay.
  3. Agreed. You can do whatever you want with Gargano, but you can’t make him interesting.
  4. Finn Balor looks like he’s been kidnapped and his captors put a bag over his head.
  5. I loved Punk on the pre-show panel talking about how weird it was to be talking without someone screaming in his ear.
  6. I was thinking the exact same thing. I think he leaned over too far after the double clothesline on the Creeds, it looked like he fell out of the ring!
  7. Great speech by Paul E., no surprise.
  8. Delivering speeches in front of a live Philadelphia crowd must be a total nightmare. I really wish this was still a banquet type deal instead of in front of a bunch of mouth breathers.
  9. Keith Lee just ended up on camera at the HOF. I wonder how that will go over with Tony. I know for VKM, that was a firing offence.
  10. You must be a barrel of laughs when you go to parties.
  11. I was going to say…not hard to figure out the colour scheme if you know anything American football. The minute I saw the colours I thought “Okay, they’re playing in the Eagles stadium so they’re using their colours. Makes sense.”
  12. Not surprised about Drew Gulak. His brother Rory was a notorious sex pest who got blackballed from the industry. I guess it runs in the family.
  13. Especially when your hiring strategy seems to be signing every wrestler who ever lived.
  14. Hey @KawadaSmile did you (or anybody else I guess) see the A&E Biography Special on Roman Reigns that aired tonight? I thought it was pretty good. It was produced and directed by Paul Heyman, and I found it a bit weird that part of the show was pretty much sticking to “Kayfabe” if such a thing is even possible anymore. Parts of it were definitely done in character. But it was still really good, especially if you are a Roman Reigns fan, which is why I couldn’t help but think of Good Bubba KawadaSmile while I watched it.
  15. I agree. A lot of the territories were consistently drawing big houses every single week. I really believe the whole myth that wrestling didn’t consistently draw big crowds or TV ratings until the 80’s was just rewritten history from Vince and the WWF.
  16. As a Torontonian, I am glad Copeland and Christian got to do this match in Toronto. I bet it means a lot to them.
  17. And to the surprise of no one, Booker admitted today that he made the whole thing up for fun, and to “entertain” people. He then chastised people for falling for clickbait. Yeeeaaahhh.
  18. Especially since by all accounts, Punk has been pretty much drama free and hanging out in NXT trying to help out while he’s rehabbing his injury. The last thing anybody needs is Booker starting shit with another one of his pointless worked shoot works.
  19. Not to mention, remember that whole stupid worked angle between Booker and Corey Graves which turned out to be totally fake and entirely pointless. Booker is King of Clickbait.
  20. I want to scrub the ball shaving story off my brain with steel wool.
  21. I think that was Daniel Puder, not Rodimer.
  22. I thought the main reason for the new set is because they are planning on running smaller arenas due to their terrible ticket sales. Apparently the old set (especially the lighting rig) was too big to fit into most of the smaller places they are now planning on running. That’s also why they got rid of Raffael Morbi and brought in Kosha Irby. Rumor has it TK finally clued into the fact that blocking off half the arena and averaging 2-3000 fans in a 15-18,000 seat area was making AEW look more like WCW. I hope it works for them. I am all for AEW running smaller “ECW sized” arenas. It really adds to the atmosphere to have a packed house in a smaller arena as opposed to a 3/4 empty house in a big arena. They are back in Toronto soon, and they are running the Coca-Cola Coliseum (7000 seats) rather than the Scotiabank Arena (18,000 seats) which is a very smart call.
  23. Unless you beat up Jungle Boy. Then you gots to go.
  24. You hit it on the head, that’s pretty much the main issue right there. I don’t even hate Kelly as much as some people, but he stunk on Collision and seemed uninterested, unmotivated and ill informed. Tony Khan probably should have just fired him when Schiavone took over, but of course TK doesn’t fire anybody.
  25. That’s hilarious. Billy’s probably cussing up a storm. “Why couldn’t WWE try and sandbag OUR TV deal? Oh yeah…because we couldn’t get one.”
