This is kind of why I've just been rolling my eyes at people acting like the sky is falling because the ratings are down. There are still close to 4 million people watching Raw every week. Ratings for cable and network TV is down across the board from 1999 so I don't know why people expect wrestling to be any different. Ratings are really not that important of an indicator especially when they're reporting great quarterly profits and have now gotten enough subscribers to make The Network profitable. And they're still one of the highest rated shows on cable.

Cool to see that you didn't just immediately drop Bobby Colt as soon as he lost the belt. Larry Zbyszko vs. Mando Guerrero sounds like a fun match that I would like to see just for Larry reacting to Mando's odd movements.

I kind of quit reading this after the NetCop style review fearing you were going to that style full time. Just got caught up, lots of cool stuff going on here. Was surprised to see The Tongans win the tag belts. I think they might have failed to defend within the 30 day limit though unless I missed a defense in another promotion Brody & Blackwell as a team is a pretty bad ass combination. Too bad Terry Funk is gone now.

It hasn't made sense for months now. Rollins is the golden boy relying on The Authority to help him keep the title until it's time to set up the next PPV match at which point they are screwing him over. They've done it at least 3 times now.

Somehow Rollins is gonna walk out of Night of Champions with both belts and seriously fuck this Rollins push already. Why the hell do they keep giving him all those long ass promo segments?

It sucks that the crowd is going to turn them back babyface and ruin the act.

I tried to tell you they were real. Yes there are definitely people who hate Cena the person and not just Cena the character. I would have posted that earlier but I didn't want to keep beating the same "WF sucks" dead horse. As for why those people continue to give WWE their money for the Network and pay to go to shows? I have no idea. I also don't understand why people buy tickets to "hijack" shows. Nothing you chant is going to send a louder message than a half empty arena. But then there are a large amount of stupid people in the world.

Thought it might spark some interesting discussion to ask how everyone does their writing? I do mine, especially the TV shows, a little bit at a time as I have time or whenever I'm feeling inspired to write. I think I've only done maybe one show so far where I sat down at wrote out the whole thing at one time. Generally I start with an outline of what I want for each of the 6 segments on my TV and then I'll start writing with whichever segment/promo/angle interests me the most. For the HemisFair Arena shows I will generally only write 1 or 2 matches at a time so I don't get burnt out writing a bunch of matches all at once. Sometimes I'll go back and forth between writing the TV and the arena show, especially if I write a segment on TV that gets me excited to write out the arena match.

As good as that match is and I think Parv would probably like it, I don't think it really fits this deal because neither of those guys is really a contender for GWE and definitely not for Parv's list.

I just watched Hacksaw Duggan & The Rock n Roll Express vs. Ernie Ladd & The Midnight Express 6/8/84 again after seeing it years ago on the Mid-South set. Such a wild, all action match. Duggan & Morton get made to look super strong in the early part of this match, especially Morton in his stuff with Ernie Ladd. I liked this a ton and the crowd was PISSED and throwing all kinds of garbage in the ring during that post-match beatdown.

I'm far more interested in Dave's thoughts on business matters and what the mindset is backstage than his match reviews. His biases are well known at this point. He likes matches with a lot of action and moves, I would much rather see a match with more of a focus on selling and storytelling. I don't really pay attention to his match reviews because it's not going to influence me to watch/not watch either way. The only thing I would give him shit about lately is that ridiculous notion that Ishii/Makabe from Dominion was somehow "next level selling" and not Makabe just being really shitty in that match.

That was probably my fault because I couldn't remember which one of them was supposed to be the really good one. I did remember that it was pretty much the only match off December to Dismember that got any praise.

Just watched The Fabs/Guerreros Cage match and it was pretty good but I wasn't in love with it or anything. I thought the Dibiase/Dr Death vs. Guerreros Cage match was a lot better. Paul Boesch also turned in one of the worst announcing jobs I've ever heard in this match. You could have put a gun to his head and asked him to tell you which Fab was beating on which Guerrero and he'd probably have gotten shot.

The ring announcer couldn't have looked more confused while reading the rules for the Duggan/Akbar match. To be fair they were some pretty odd stipulations. This was a lot of fun for what it was. Duggan has one of the best "I've had enough of your shit, now eat my fist" punches ever in wrestling. Not saying ALL of his punches are the best but that one big haymaker that you know it when you see it. Who the heck ran in at the end with a cattle prod? Pretty crazy stuff.

Well that's the point. The worst aspects of some people who consider themselves die-hard fans is they are more influenced by backstage drama and bullshit rumors than what is actually happening on screen. Just like the people still talk about Roman Reigns being "shoved down our throats!" when he's had maybe 1/3rd of the TV time that Rollins has had since WrestleMania.

"Still really green and limited" is a criticism completely divorced from reality unless it simply means doesn't do enough MOVEZ~!

I loved the escalation from straight wrestling to brawling in this one. Jose is so clearly past his prime but still brings great punches & selling to the table and it makes you wish you could see some early 70s Jose footage to see him when he had more in the tank. The ref bump in this was pretty silly but I liked the finish and the interview afterwards. Really good stuff here.

I'd like to see you review The Hardys vs. MNM from either December to Dismember 2006 or Royal Rumble 2007. Or both if you watch one and like it.

It's really hard for me to see an argument for Owens as the best guy in WWE this year. The only match I even liked out of the Cena/Owens series was the first one, after that it was all diminishing returns and the fact that they seemingly had no ideas other than "lets just do our finishers a bunch and repeat the same spots from the first match" did not impress me.

I'd love to see your 25 ahead of them lol, you may be the only person voting who thinks this Well they aren't even nominated yet so I doubt he's alone.
