Ron Fuller is coming to Puerto Rico! I'm excited for that.
-
Just the normal outrage competition of twitter.
-
Wrong thread.

There is no Dana, only Zuul.
-
It's him showing his support for the idea of gender neutral names.

Dave Meltzer seems to be on the side of "Why is anyone upset over this?" From his twitter account:
-
This is such a bullshit controversy. I am about as big a fan of wrestling as anyone and the word "fake" doesn't bother me at all. I also don't get upset at Dana saying the "fake shit" is only worth $9.99 because it isn't even worth that to me, I'm not giving WWE my money for the Network because I don't like their current product enough and they refuse to upload anything pre-1997. Stunt men get hurt all the time do you think they get upset if you call movies fake?
-
Sorry if I missed this somewhere but is there a list of all the women wrestlers that fall under that category in freelancers?

I watched the Atlantis/Rayo De Jalisco Jr./El Dandy vs Satanico/Emilio Charles Jr./Kamala match a few months ago and absolutely loved it. Kamala doing Rayo's taunt was the best thing ever.

I love that a dude whose name is probably Benjamin took the Spanish pronunciation and turned it into terrorist Bin Hamin. If I could get everyone to use the Spanish pronunciation of my name I wouldn't shorten it to Ben.

Wahoo just got a whole influx of new talent anyway so I'd say give him 5 more minutes and then we move on.

Does anyone really think Cena is going to miss the 2nd biggest PPV of the year over a broken nose? Please.

You aren't the first and won't be the last to be a bit late on posting the show, I wouldn't sweat it.

On the one hand, I can understand them being a bit miffed on not getting any royalties but on the other hand would you rather just not have anyone ever watch your life's work? NWAClassics.com isn't like WWE Network where you could argue that they really do have the money to give out royalties. I guess I won't be including @ChavoClassic in any of my future tweets about NWAClassics.com though

Haha dang shoe! He didn't threaten to beat ME up, he just retweeted me To be fair I'm sure he is in a really awful mood today after Piper's death.

The Grappler vs Tiger Conway Jr. 12/11/81 This was ok, smart work but nothing spectacular. Tiger Conway has a distinct lack of fire as a babyface. The ref bump in this is pretty weak. Not anything to go out of your way to watch.
-
Gino Hernandez vs. Bob Markus This is another example of Gino getting an entertaining match out of a guy who doesn't seem to be all that good. Bob Markus is more mobile than Putski & Ox Baker but he still doesn't really seem to be all that good at anything. Gino is awesome.

Can-Ams are from Montreal (dawho5) and are Jim Brunzell & Phil Lafon. Lafon was wrestling in 1983. KrisZ can confirm who the Moondogs are but I think it's Larry Latham & Randy Colley

AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich
-
I'm glad to get the first month done and my tag team title tournament out of the way. Pretty much all the stuff from the first month was just me making stuff up as I went along because most of my long term ideas were built off the fallout of the tournament. David debuting in the way he did and Tully & David winning the tag team tournament was booked before I even drafted David which is why I scrambled to make the trade to get him. Feel free to criticize the way Keirn lost the match if you don't like it as I wasn't really totally confident in going that way but I didn't really want to do a bullshit finish either.

Southwest Championship Wrestling @ San Antonio, TX - The HemisFair Arena 7/31/83 Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich defeated Bret Hart & Davey Boy Smith in 13:22 after Bret Hart rolled up Tully Blanchard in a small package but David Von Erich used his foot to push them over to have Tully on top while the ref was down counting Tully's shoulders and missed David's interference The Fabulous Rougeaus defeated El Gran Apollo & Jose Lothario in 11:08 when Ray Rougeau came off the top rope on Jose Lothario with a knee drop. After the match The Rougeaus helped up Jose Lothario and shook hands with him & El Gran Apollo. The Assassins defeated Brickhouse Brown & Bobo Brazil in 9:33 when Assassin #1 pinned Brickhouse Brown after Assassin #2 kicked Brickhouse with the loaded boot The Fabulous Ones defeated the AWA World Tag Team Champions the Wild Bills by DQ with the match never even starting. The Wild Bills hit the ring with their bullropes and immediately attacked The Fabs with them! They hog tie Stan Lane with the bullrope and then beat the hell out of Steve Keirn, busting him open after hitting him with one of the AWA World Tag Team Title belts. The Wild Bills talk trash during their beatdown about how they are the World Tag Team Champions and don't give a damn about the Southwest Tag Team Titles anymore. Eddy Mansfield w/Terry Adonis at ringside defeated Roy Lee Welch in 8:44 after Terry Adonis held Roy Lee Welch's legs down during the pin which the ref didn't see as he was looking at Welch's shoulders Semi-Final match for the vacant AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich defeated The Fabulous Rougeaus in 16:44 after the referee was knocked down and Killer Khan made a surprise attack and took out Jacques Rougeau with a cast covered thumb to the throat. Semi-Final match for the vacant AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: The Fabulous Ones defeated The Assassins in 12:22 when Stan Lane pinned Assassin #1. Assassin #1 was holding Stan Lane for Assassin #2 to kick him with the loaded boot but Stan Lane got out of the way at the last second and Assassin #2's loaded boot connected with the head of Assassin #1 instead. Steve Keirn came out with a huge bandage around his head due to being busted open earlier and Stan Lane was forced to work most of the match by himself. Mil Mascaras defeated Mike Masters by DQ in 9:22 after Tiny Anderson ran in to break up a pin. After the match Tiny Anderson and Mike Masters tried to beatdown Mascaras but Mascaras fought them both off and smashed their heads together and sent them running for the hills to the delight of the crowd. Finals of the tournament for the AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich came to the ring with Killer Khan beside them but once the match started, Bob Sweetan came down to ringside and attacked Killer Khan and they brawled back to the locker room! Stan Lane tried to once again fight the battle on his own due to the injures of Steve Keirn but after taking a lot of damage in the match against The Assassins, he was unable to fight off both Tully & David by himself. Tully & David work over Stan Lane and almost put him away but Stan Lane finally makes a hot tag to Steve Keirn who comes in a house on fire! Steve Keirn kicks some ass and hits the Flying Forearm on Tully but David Von Erich manages to break the pin up before the count of 3 with a big boot to the head of Keirn. Tully makes the tag out to David and David pulls the bandage off of Steve Keirn's head and works the cut on Keirn's forehead causing him to start bleeding again. Tully & David make quick tags and keep Steve Keirn in their corner and viciously attack the cut on Keirn's head. Steve Keirn is bleeding profusely now as the crowd in the HemisFair Arena cheer him on. David Von Erich puts the Iron Claw on Steve Keirn but Stan Lane runs in and attacks him! Tully comes in and tosses Stan Lane outside the ring and goes out of after him. David Von Erich puts the Iron Claw back on Steve Keirn as Lane & Blanchard brawl on the outside. Lane takes Tully down with a punch and tries to get back in the ring but Tully hits a low blow on Stan Lane as he gets up on the apron and pulls Stan back down to the floor. Steve Keirn looks to be out of it as the referee lifts his hand and it falls twice but on the 3rd try his hand stays up and he tries to use the adrenaline of the crowd to fight out of the Iron Claw. David Von Erich won't be fought off though and finally Keirn collapses due to the pain and the loss of blood and David Von Erich pins shoulders to the mat while Keirn is still in the Iron Claw. Winners & new AWA Southwest Team Champions in 13:01: Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich! Tully holds the Southwest Heavyweight Title over his head as he forces referee Juan Reynosa to strap one of the Southwest Tag Team Titles around his waist. Tully & David walk back to the locker room, talking trash to the fans as they go while Stan Lane rolls back in the ring and checks on his partner Steve Keirn who is still passed out in the ring.

I may end up doing a half and half. I have some matches that I know what I want from and some I have no idea how to write.

Southwest Championship Wrestling @ Waco, TX - Convention Center July, 30th 1983 The Assassins defeated The Masked Wildfire & Steve Pardee in 8:32 after Assassin #1 pinned The Masked Wildfire following a big elbow drop across the throat. Steve Pardee started the match and frustrated both The Assassins with his superior wrestling ability but once Pardee tagged out to The Masked Wildfire from Hendersonville, TN the match quickly turned in the favor of The Assassins. El Gran Apollo defeated Ali Bey the Turk in 5:55 after a Top Rope Crossbody Roy Lee Welch, Ken Lucas & Charlie Cook defeated Eddy Mansfield, Terry Adonis & T.G. Stone in 12:31 after Charlie Cook pinned T.G. Stone following a flying should block. During the match Eddy Mansfield tried to avoid Roy Lee Welch at all costs. Jose Lothario & David Von Erich went to a double countout in 10:44 when both men were brawling outside of the ring and ignored the referee's 10 count. The Fabulous Ones defeated Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson in 9:12 after Steve Keirn hit a flying forearm on Tiny Anderson. AWA Southwest Heavyweight Title: Tully Blanchard defeated Bob Sweetan in 14:01 after interference from David Von Erich. Bob Sweetan hit the Piledriver on Tully Blanchard but as Tully was going up he kicked his legs out and knocked referee Jack Howe out of the ring. While the referee was down on the outside, David Von Erich came in with a chair and KO'd Bob Sweetan and put Tully Blanchard on top, then pushed Jack Howe back in the ring to make the count. After the match David Von Erich & Tully Blanchard attacked the taped up shoulder of Bob Sweetan until The Fabulous Ones ran down to make the save! Tully & David bailed out of the ring before The Fabs could get their hands on them. Stan & Steve challenge Tully & David to get in the ring with them but Tully & David content themselves with talking trash from the safety of the arena floor. Tully & David eventually head back to the locker room as The Fabs help Bob Sweetan back to his feet in the ring. *Not quite sure when I'll get to the big HemisFair Arena show. I am having trouble really sitting down and typing out any matches right now. Promos & angles come really easy to me but I'm not all that good at writing matches unless I really have a strong idea of what I want from it like the Texas Death Match.

I watched the little slideshow of the Danny McShain vs Bull Curry Paint Match and the picture of McShain getting the bucket of paint dumped over his head got a big laugh out of me. I bet the crowd ate that stuff up.

I actually didn't like this too much and though that Brad taking out his own leg by atomic dropping Gang made Brad look pretty stupid.
