Except Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins has nowhere near the money potential that Goldberg vs. Hogan had on PPV. Not even close to a straight comparison. As far as creating a super memorable moment that helped solidify Goldberg as a true main eventer, it DID work out really well.

I have been thinking lately that WWE needs a shakeup and a World Title change on Raw might not be a bad idea. I think a surprise Roman Reigns win on Raw would do more for him than a PPV main event where it'll be kind of telegraphed. I wouldn't even put it at the end of the show, I'd stretch the match between the end of hour 2/beginning of hour 3 and have something else follow. Plus a surprise win helps negate any backlash because people will pop just for the "oh shit I didn't think I was going to see that" factor.

I thought pretty much the whole feud with Drew Mac was really good. That was during the "LOL Fatt Hardy" period when he was posting stupid shit online so it didn't get as much praise as it should have. I also LOVED the MVP feud and it really sucked that Hardy got injured when he did and it took all the steam out of the feud.

Via the Mid-South set: The Dirty White Boys/The Grapplers (Tony Anthony & Len Denton)

I liked the best Rose/Hennig match that I saw better than my favorite Bock/Hennig match. I couldn't tell you which one that was off of dates though as I kind of watched them all at one sitting. I actually thought Rose was a better overall opponent for Hennig but it's not like there's a wide gap.

Add The Nightmares to the list.

Completely not my position. I am not a guy who is high on Bret and I don't make WWF my "home promotion" by any stretch. I watched all the AWA Curt on the 80s set. But Bret wins this one for me. I didn't really agree with Dylan's assessment of babyface Hennig in the leadup to the set. I just wasn't as high on early 80s Curt as the committee was. I thought he really came into his own when he was "Cool Curt" after the amazing match with Bock. That was probably the best stretch of his career. This is how I felt too. It's not that he didn't have some great matches on the AWA set, it's that the great matches just made you even more aware of how good Curt COULD be but only rarely was. Like, I would have LOVED to see more of the bad ass brawling Curt that we got against Stan Hansen but he rarely brought that much fire. I also think Curt was a guy who needed a great opponent to get the most out of him. I don't think Curt could have ever gotten anything as good out of Nash as the Survivor Series 95 Diesel vs. Bret match. That was one of my favorite matches for YEARS and one I still really love.

I like Portland & AWA Hennig. But even peak pre-WWF Hennig doesn't beat peak Bret for me and I'm not anywhere close to the "Bret is a GOAT" crowd. For all the shit Bret gets as a guy who coasted a lot, Hennig wasn't exactly the model of consistency even in his early babyface days. I found myself completely bored by him during more than one of his AWA matches and his willingness to just sit in holds when he's on top. I think his pre-WWF work definitely benefits from the limited availability of footage because I think if there was a lot more of it we'd find more "average" Hennig performances than the really great stuff like him vs. Hansen, Rose and the best of the Bockwinkel series.

He had at least one, I think it was two, really good hardcore matches with Drew McIntyre that seem to have been completely forgotten since that was during the "LOL Fatt Hardy" period where he was posting a lot of dumb shit online.

Last laugh will be Dixie's when Dave Meltzer is in jail for being a lying liar and TNA buys ROH with the money they take from the WON/F4W Empire of Lies.

Actually I forgot the bag boys and handing out the bags to the crowd. That was the best part of the gimmick, especially Booker T getting more and more pissed about being handed bags. That's the only part of the gimmick I liked and had totally forgotten it.

This is fun posturing from 1wrestling.com

I know but I think that would make it equally as fun. The draft concept is really interesting to me but I have a difficult time seeing DiBiase as a top 4 pick.

PTBN Reaction Show: NXT Takeover Unstoppable

I'm listening to the TNA eulogy/Bob Ryder sucks part now since Will mentioned talking about my fake TNAMecca quote. The line of "What was the website, ChrisHarrisCircleJerk.com?" cracked me up.- 22 replies

Haha no I made it up. They are just the easiest group to make satire posts about. And I thought mocking WF.com's attitude with my "Road Runner is an asshole" topic was easy. I wouldn't doubt if I looked hard enough at all the garbage they have spewed on their site and on twitter if someone over there hadn't stumbled upon that delusional line of thinking though. I mean maybe some big wig at Discovery read the PRESS RELEASE~ and decided they need some of those sweet sweet ratings.

I thought the guys that they are recruiting and training from scratch end up getting put on house shows after they train long enough in the Performance Center. I don't think there is really anything wrong with leaving those guys in the PC for a year or so before actually putting them on real shows.

I can't think of another time when putting a title on a guy completely killed his momentum the way it did Hogan in 2002. He could have had a much better run if they hadn't gotten desperate with giving him the belt. It might have even worked if they had maybe built it up more but it was way too fast and babyface HHH was definitely not the right guy to put him over for it.

If this had been during a different time period, I might feel some joy at TNA seemingly being in it's death throes. As it is, I actually think their current product is legitimately a good wrestling show and I like quite a few of the people on the roster right now. If TNA is dying I hope GFW sticks around long enough that we get some Drew Gallows vs. Chris Masters matches.

"Comic book villain" Cody Rhodes with that stupid plastic mask. I think it's the worst WWE gimmick ever. Mostly because all the other "worst" gimmicks didn't go on so long and have so many shitty promos.

Most of their regular advertisers specifically asked to NOT have their ads run during iMPACT. They aren't struggling to sell ads for BBQ Pitmasters or Psychic Bigfoot.

"We'll see who has the last laugh when the REAL story comes out from someone more credible than D*ve M*ltzer that TNA isn't getting cancelled from Destination America, they are being moved up to be the flagship show of the Discovery Channel."
-
That is what was reported in the latest Observer. So I would imagine it's the plan as of right now unless somehow TNA manages to convince Destination America not to drop them. But it would definitely seem like the end of the line if DA drops them because I mean where do you go after such a small time network like Destination America drops you?
-
But...but...who cares how prophetic that turned out to be, Dave doesn't know anything because he says bad stuff about TNA.
