I don't think it's fair to say Hansen was a disappointment in AWA unless there was a bunch of stuff that didn't make the set. He was in my #1 match on the set vs. Curt Hennig and I never even considered putting another match at the top of my ballot.

EDIT:Nevermind. Wasn't that funny and not worth a derail.

Hahaha. I hope Zach Ryder secretly reads this forum.

You could rationalize it by sharing it with the rest of us

I didn't want to derail a thread about Jumbo vs. Misawa by talking about Cena but I definitely felt this way too. I'm not sure who else you could compare him to at having to put out so many widely viewed main event matches so close together. Most of the other guys had the advantage of having more time to build to a main event than like 2 or 3 weeks. Admittedly Cena has had some off nights but some of that also has to do with the fact that there is just no emotional investment in some of his stuff because it was just thrown together or he's stuck wrestling someone who shouldn't be in the main event with him.

Come on now, you know if the match involved Mr. Electricity it was anything but great.

Glad you're enjoying it, I kind of fell off in my watching somewhere around May. (1986 Continental is the only actual viewing project I've ever completed so this is not unusual)

I may have gone too far out with 2002, I was thinking that Booker T/Goldust team was mostly in 2003. I don't really remember anything about the quality of the Venis/Goldust feud I pretty much just remember the whole "He's Coming Back" part.

For Memphis this is really a no brainer but there are definitely gonna be some other territories where that 1 pick is going to involve a lot of thought.

I miss Santino. No one else is even close to his level of making stupid WWE "comedy" actually funny.
-
I think it'd be better to set a starting point, say January 1st 1983 and everyone gets to pick ONE guy off the roster to keep and everyone else goes into the draft. I mean if I pick Memphis and someone drafts Lawler before I even get my first pick I'm pretty much just gonna say "fuck this"

I voted Dustin but this is just demonstrably not true. He has long stretches of doing nothing or being actively not very good. I mean 98-2002 is like a completely dead period.

BRAINBUSTER FOUR : The One With The Whales

I was surprised that Khan's name came up as a Paul Jones guy before Shaska Whatley. I also don't know why I had Hardbody Harrison mixed up with Hardwork Bobby Walker. -
I don't know why Sinclair would want TNA's library though. At most I would just see them cherry picking whoever is out of a job.

I know people get sick of the "build up a heel to feed to a babyface" formula that has existed in WWF/E for like 30 years now. But I still think it's a much better formula than what we got in 2002-2003 of "heel kills momentum of the entire promotion by beating every popular babyface"
-
If the majority of the rest of the people involved didn't want to use real promotions it wouldn't be a huge problem for me. I'd still participate. I just think it's more fun to try and work within some kind of realistic framework.
-
One backup on my regular hard drive in case the game gets corrupted and one on my external if my regular comp dies. I don't have my footage backed up at all though so if my 3TB external died that would be a major pain in the ass.
-
I would lose my mind if I lost my TEW game lol. I've got like 2 backups.
-
I've had an ongoing TEW game for like 5 years at this point booking TNA from the beginning all the way until June 2015 where I am in the game now. I found it a lot more fun to try to stay within the framework of reality and stick to kind of a timeline of when guys became available to pick up. But my TNA game copies almost NOTHING from what TNA actually did except for keeping the starting roster mostly the same and not going crazy on picking up "name" guys.
-
I like the idea of using existing territories and having to stick to some semblance of reality. Like if you take over WCCW you can't just go "fuck the Von Erichs, I'm jobbing them out and getting rid of them." Same thing with Lawler in Memphis. Other people may disagree though.

I love that match. Maybe my favorite match from Japan.

I can't decide if that would be worse.

It's Georgia TV so Larry didn't really wrestle anyone but jobbers but I watched the first few months of 1983 Georgia a few months ago and he really stood out. When you watch something like Georgia TV you really start to appreciate the guys who make their squash matches interesting. Larry always did, between his interactions with the referee, the crowd, or just busting out some move you really didn't expect. I noticed the same thing with him in dying days AWA. Maybe one of the best squash match workers of all time. For some people I guess that would mean absolutely nothing but to me it's pretty damn important considering how frequent squashes were back in those days.

I never hated a heel the way I hated Goldust in 1996. I have never been so excited to see someone wreck a heel as when Ahmed Johnson kicked his ass. Then the Booker T/Goldust team was GREAT. Some of the best comedy WWE has ever done and really good matches at a time when Raw was in the shitter. I am just going to assume the criteria here is "Who do you like more?" and pick Goldust.
