    I'm not a Balor fan, but that was the best Balor match I've seen. It was also the second Thatcher match I've seen and both were really good. It's really weird seeing Thatcher's style in the WWE, even if NXT is not really aligned with the main roster. It's also weird seeing Balor, the first Universal champion, curtain jerking NXT.

    Unrelated to her wrestling matches, I think this may be the earliest footage of Jaguar training as part of the AJW dojo I've seen so far. It's from November 1986 (she retired in February) in Saipan, and it's one of those travel trip things they'd show on the old AJW TV shows every once in a while. It's kinda neat, you can she they're working on a judo hip toss and you can see a much skinnier Aja Kong grappling with another student. Akira Hokuto is in it also, but she already graduated and has been on TV for a year, but she did the best out of the long jumping competition (which is OMG dumb, some girls seem to get hurt). And yep, that's Akira Hokuto in the thumbnail.

    Thanks! I have another two matches in the process right now. I really, really like that match and I still think it's great, and it was the first Jaguar match I've seen (I mean well it was rated ***** by Meltz, it's probably a lot of people's first Jaguar match). But yes, it gets ruined by Lioness Asuka. The Nagayo/Masami match is definitely the best match of the night.

    If I'm still here regularly by the next time the GWE poll is done, she'll be very, very, very high on my list. I have a lot of Rimi/Jaguar Yokota matches on disc, and I've been cataloguing old AJW on Youtube, though they're unlisted (I hate getting strikes). If anybody is wanting to watch Jaguar in AJW, I have a playlist in the works here:

    What was the point of Sunny here. I forgot how bad the original Nation of Domination was, ugh that horrible rap. The AKKlaim Slam of the Week is Rocky's debut match at Survivor Series! Nice spine buster by Faarooq. Yeah, that blown superplex spot looked bad, but they both acted like nothing happened.

    Austin does a long entrance giving enough time for Mankind to club from behind. And we get a brawl to open RAW! Really good fun match that got about 12 minutes of TV time.

    LOL, total north eastern crowd. Sid is just so bad, his movements are so slow and so awkward, it's pretty amazing that Shawn was able to get this kind of match of Sid and most likely Sid's best singles match.

    Both interviews before the match are pretty good, Austin was obviously better. Austin's entrance is fucking awesome. This feels like a big match even though it's not gimmicked, there's no title on the line, and it's not the main event. Austin and Bret have always had great chemistry together, and this was an excellent match that doesn't really feel like a WWF match, and it's one of the best WWF 90's matches, but they would top this a few months later.

    Hokuto and Kandori were destined for each other, they are magic together in the ring. I almost liked this almost as much as their April match.

    Probably my favorite Mima Shimoda performance so far, she is such a bitch! This is like the closest thing to a DePalma movie, over-the-top violence and the split-screen! Crazy match, lots of blood especially from AKINO, really great underdog tecnico performances by Hamada and AKINO.

    Heavenly Bodies do a good job at carrying this, lots of fun teamwork between the two. Yeah I can't stand Lance Storm in this either. Chris Jericho doing left-handed offense was pretty amusing, and ugh, that blade job is beyond crazy. I've been bored and watched a bunch of dirty motel videos on Youtube with roaches and and vomit and cocaine, and this blade job is the worst thing I've seen on Youtube this week.

    The earliest Bolshoi match I've seen had her spam nothing but moonsaults and brawl poorly, so to see her have a very good, smartly worked 15+ minute match with a tough gimmick to work with in such a short period of time is very impressive. Very good performances by both women.

    I just have to say that the production value improvement over the last few months for JWP has been great. Man, Hotta wanted to kick Kansai's ass so bad!!!! She wanted her so bad, that it may have cost her the match. She was even treating Ozaki as a complete scrub and a waste of time. Takako, unfortunately, is the weak link here, and she gets her ass kicked. Crowd is loving all the action in this match. A few blown spots and Hotta's last save was shite, but otherwise I love this match.

    This is from ARSION's penultimate show and has a 3 five minute rounds. It's also Fujii's pro wrestling debut. Lots of mat wrestling to start off, and Fujii is legit badass, might be the greatest badass in women's wrestling history, so she has no problem doing wrestling. Yoshida is the one doing the "pro wrestling" moves, she does a pedigree, stomps, Air Raid Crash attempts, while Fuji is doing sweeps, arm bars, triangle chokes, etc for most of the match until Fujii pulls out a huracanrana late in the second round. Yoshida gets a Spider Twist at the end of the round, but Fujii gets saved by the bell. Fujii gets this crazy submission hold attempt in the third round and gets a guillotine choke which Yoshida sells like death, before getting a suplex to break it. A fast sequence of reversals from multiple Air Raid Crashes and pin attempts and Yoshida eventually gets on top to get the pin. Really, really good match, it almost goes the distance but feels like 3 minutes to me. After the match, Yumiko Hotta comes out and challenges Yoshida. I guess this was to eventually build up the transition to AtoZ.

    I love how super low budget early JWP was. You have these commercial tapes that are just handcam videos with awful camera work. I'm watching one of their commercial tapes from 1990 where they did a show in front of the US Air Force at Yokota (I assume Yokota, not sure). The horndogs *ahem* I mean military really love Cuty Suzuki. The ring card girl had a tough job, she can't even do a lap around the auditorium without dudes jumping out trying to get pictures with her. Devil Masami has such great stage presence and she's so impressive, even the crowd of foreigners learn quickly that she's a super badass. The last match on the tape has Kazama/Saito vs Ozaki/Ozawa. None of the matches on the show are amazing, they're literally just touring matches, it's just neat seeing joshi in front of a different audience than normal.

    God, I love a good violent lucha brawl, and this was an amazing one. This is up there with the best, I just wish there was more footage out there so I could follow the rivalry start to finish. I know they were in a trios a week after this and that's about it until October 1984.

    Toyota looked scared before the match. The interviewer really sold Bull's punch! Toyota pinballing in a match can be really fun, so to have a monster ace vs young future ace is a great situation to have a fun match. Aside from typical Toyota sloppiness, this match was a really good squash main event.

    LOL at Vince mispronouncing Tateno and Yamazaki's names. I've seen so many joshi tags, that I can't really say this anywhere near great. It gets pretty sloppy at times. I was too young to watch WWF at this time, but I'm assuming this was probably mind-blowing for the WWF in this era, crowd popped really huge for this.
