An epic card from top to bottom that had a Starrcade/WrestleMania type feel Very impactful debut for Studd. I'm a little bummed to see the run of this Johnny Rich gimmick coming to a close. I dug the St Clair win and your write-up on the entire match. Very descriptive. Good stuff with the Fuller turn, which was hinted at with his vicious whipping of Bass. Fullers and Armstrongs are made to fight one another. I get this was a super long card, but on what I envisioned as a bunch of blowoffs, my only real note was the couple of super-quick matches seemed odd. Oliver running through Miller in particular. Colon-Ayala seemd like it would fit in perfectly in a stadium in Puerto Rico, and Lawler-Adonis had that tasty Memphis feel. Epic main event with Kerry Von Erich unseating the seasoned champ Bockwinkel USWA shows remain a treat, as always!

Seattle Showdown is looking awesome. I'd buy a ticket for the main event for sure. Yamada and Poffo is also a definite sleeper. The whole card is strong!

Mid Atlantic adds Steve Armstrong and drops Rocky Kernodle

Young Vader and Mark Lewin is a brawl I would have wanted to see Hope all these champions got double their normal envelope from having to wrestle twice!

Lots of good stuff here. What strikes me is just how deep your roster is. There's a good 10 or 12 guys that easily could be elevated to the main event at any one time

poor Bobby Duncum!

[2012-01-04-NJPW-Wrestle Kingdom] Kazuchika Okada vs YOSHI-HASHI
Wahoos Leg replied to bradhindsight's topic in January 2012
There are certain matches that are not good matches that are worth watching either because of some sort of historic significance, or they're so bad and off-base that you can't look away. Having finally seen this last night, this match is both- 3 replies

Good stuff here and it's intriguing to watch things build from the break. Baby Bull is going to be a force and I like the development of Sam Houston

No offense to anybody else but this is my favorite territory in the game right now. I plan on going back and reading through the entire archive of shows. I love matches where an established guy tries to put over or make another wrestler, even in defeat, and Bock vs Cooley accomplished that perfectly. Lawler vs Adonis was total Memphis and the crowd would have ate up that whole story. Mean Mike Miller as a relevant threatening force is an impressive feat. narratively speaking. Everybody has a thing. Everybody has something to do. Just good storytelling all the way around

change-ups on characters like the Ray Candy gimmick is what makes games like this great I'm here for heel Bulldogs as part of the Family I like a lot of what's going on, but where's that captivating top of the card babyface? Is it Andre? Snuka? Time will tell

The atmosphere created here is top-notch, and it feels like watching a 1980s episode of WWF TV to me. Crazy unhinged Backlund is my favorite part, and I'm wondering if we might see Bruno come away from the commentary desk for one last shot at the gold?
