  1. The Legends of Wrestling signed a guy from the 1800s called the Terrible Turk. Some of the other players dug up an article on the guy and it's actually kind of funny:
  2. Ugh..... horrible horrible move. Angle has never shown anything as a face and as I said earlier his big face run bombed so badly that they had to take the belt off of him immediately. What's up with this company? They have an injured World Champ, an injured Tag Champ and they just transitioned the belt from an injured World Champ to a World Champ that's going insane amounts of various substances just to operate. What are they going to do if Angle drops dead as their Champion?
  3. I got that Tag Team Hall of Fame book. I didn't see the Crusher and Dick the Bruiser mentioned at all in the table of contents. Seems like a horrible oversight to me.
  4. They're supposed to have a video package for Tanahashi on Impact this weekend. It should be interesting to see what they show of the guy. I think it will turn out ok. It's not like Styles can't work with more grounded guys. As long as Tanahashi is healthy I think the match will be solid. I'm not expecting a lot out of it. I'm mostly just excited to see Tanahashi on an American PPV.
  5. There will probably be another match or two that get added. I expect to see Gen Next vs. Dutt/Sabin in there as well. Maybe Apolo/Cide vs. the New Age Outlaws in there or Killings/Roode.
  6. I'll definately being getting this to see Hiroshi Tanahashi, Sting and Joe/Daniels.
  7. I can understand that. I'll give him credit, unlike Austin, that once he got to the top he tried to pull as many people with him as possible. I have no sympathy for Austin because once he got to the top he almost immediately turned into what he hated in WCW the most.
  8. It's kind of odd that they always go back to the Kurt Angle well when most of his big runs have tanked drawing wise. I mean his big title win in 2001 did so awful that they had to take the belt off of him after 2 weeks.
  9. He had a good PPV run during the summer. He's carried a lot of useless lugs to the best matches of their career. Abyss does suffer though from not getting top of the line talent to work against.
  10. A Backlund DVD would be great just to hear Meltzer cry.
  11. Any TNA PPV that puts Abyss/Sting on the card will be an automatic buy for me this year.
  12. It just came off as whiney to me. As a single story it doesn't bother me as much but when you insert it into all of his grumblings about how he should've been main eventing in WCW and it gets tedious.
  13. I have the 2 Foley books. Enjoyable reads but the guy WAAAY overrates his value as a performer until about 1998. It seems to me that a lot of his negativity towards Flair, Sting, etc. is that they weren't willing to give a lot to a mid-card nobody for the most part. It seemed like he expected to be main eventing in WCW despite not having any real amount of heat. I like Foley and everything but he can be eye rolling sometimes. Also have Idiots Guide to Pro Wrestling with Lou Albano and I don't remember the other guy. It has it's faults but hey it's where I learned about Frank Gotch, George Hackenschmidt, Ed Lewis, Jim Londos and a few other guys from the early eras of wrestling. So it's actually a useful book despite what others will say about it.
  14. I need one of those puking icons. The level of suck in that match had to have been off the charts.
  15. It's kind of pathetic that a title change can only pop a .3-.5 in the ratings these days. It seems like even a few years ago that a title change was worth an extra .7-1.0 in the ratings.
  16. I think it's time to end the brand split and do a title vs. title for the main event of Wrestlemania. You have Cena win the belt back from Edge and then you do Angle/Cena to start off Mania and then the winner of the match faces the winner of the Royal Rumble in the main event.
  17. It didn't work the second time around because a lot of the shoot fighters didn't really get the shownmanship aspects of ringwork. Plus he was throwing his guys into real shoot fights and that killed the credibility of guys like Yuji Nagata. Plus you'd get a guy like Fujita who would play nice until he got the belt and then would refuse to job to anyone. It also didn't work because Pride and K-1 were starting to steal away the wrestling fans because well it was real.
  18. Did Antonio Inoki just hijack your account?
  19. This makes a Sting/Abyss feud sound like a good possibility. I think Abyss is just the guy to make Sting look like he can still go in the ring.
  20. Edge, Christian, Gangrel, Droz, the Hardys, the Dudleys, Rikishi, D'Lo, Albert, Kane, Val Venis, Al Snow Stevie Richards, Kurrgan, Ken Shamrock, Bucannon, Test and I'm probably missing a lot of obvious ones from that time period. II Cool got about as far as humanly possible in the WWF with their gimmick.
  21. It doesn't seem like anyone that started around Edge's time really panned out. Remember when people used to think Jeff Hardy was the next Shawn Michaels?
  22. I usually tune in briefly after a title change to see the new champion with the belt.
  23. I like TNA's monthly PPVs.
  24. Nah, Lawler's got a good 15 years on Austin for face getting cheered for attacking valets.
  25. I'd say this is definately a temper tantrum to them getting Sting. It also makes me wonder if maybe he's going to lose the case against Lesnar and is worried that TNA will sign him. It's a stupid policy. As someone mentioned TNA should just start showing interest in a bunch of people so that the WWF spends itself to death. Vince doesn't have the bottomless pockets like he used to.
