Well I made me bi-annual 10 minute tune in. See you guys around July.

Hating on Hogan is the cool thing to do on the net. Like I said he lead WCW to the only money it ever made as a company. But it's cool to hate on Hogan so obviously the downfall of WCW was his fault. His effect on the company pales in comparision to what Kevin Nash, Kevin Sullivan and Vince Russo did to it.
-
The finger poke is highly overrated in the downfall of WCW. They were still pulling 5's for a good while after that. What gets ignored is that about every upper mid-carder got seriously injured during the next couple of weeks following that.
-
Hogan lead the company to the only money it ever made. He takes way too much shit for the downfalls of the company. Nitro and Thunder getting cancelled are ultimately what killed the company. That act allowed Vince to swoop in and buy the company. Had those shows not been cancelled Bischoff's group would've bought WCW and Rob Van Dam was going to sign with them.
-
WCW died because Turner execs cancelled Nitro and Thunder. Had that event not happened WCW would still be here.

I've been trying to come up with a comparison of someone from the past winning the world title. The best I've been able to come up with is Kevin Sullivan. So basically Edge winning last night would've been like Kevin Sullivan showing up in 89 and beating Ricky Steamboat when he started to bomb as champion.
-
Yeah, but this is the second or third time he's torn that tricep. Even if he's not on roids he's worked out in such a way that gives him no flexibility. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him out of wrestling within 2-3 years.

Edge's potential as a main eventer died well before Mania last year. Jobbing to HHH in Japan and then having to give his job back to Michaels killed his hopes of being a drawing main eventer. They've cut back about as much as they can. Plus they have stockholders who they have to pay dividends too. But here's an idea how bad it is in the WWF right now. They can't run shows without taking a loss in MSG right now. The company is in serious trouble when they can't even draw enough of a gate in their home arena to cover the rental fee. Where I live there used to be a rabid fanbase and it was impossible to get tickets. I went to a show a couple of years ago and they drew maybe 3000 fans in an arena that holds 12,000. And that was in 2003. I think they've actually stopped coming to my city due to poor attendence.

I would like to point out how similar this is to the Evolution breakup the night after Orton won the title. I wrote a post minutes after it happened talking about how they just ruined Orton and how awful the booking was. I got post after post telling me I was insane because it was a cool momentand blah, blah. I think Loss was one of the only ones in that thread that agreed with me. Well guess what? It was a cool moment but who was right in the end? Cool moments don't put butts in the seat 2 months from now if you don't build them up. Andre turning on Hogan the day he won the title wouldn't have the same impact as Andre deciding he wants the title after 3 years of Hogan with the belt.

I find the net denial over Kurt Angle's condition to be increasingly sad. -
Edge can't face anyone though. Anyone who's a halfway decent contender on Raw has beaten Edge in the last year or so. This is just going to be a hot shot back to Cena or to whoever Trips wants to take the belt from at Mania. EDIT: Just read Batista might've torn his tricep again so both World Champs are injured.
-
You know... If they were going to go this route they should've just had Edge beat Flair for the I.C. Title. It would've given him some form of momentum and you could easily have sold him winning both belts in one night as a big deal. EDIT: It's also going to be interesting reading the net the next couple of weeks as the thrill of this wears off and the reality of there being nowhere for Edge to go as champion sets in.
-
I agree. Even to a casual fan this is a lameduck title reign.
-
I hope not. There's nowhere to go with Edge as champion and I wouldn't be surprised to see Cena win it right back tomorrow night or something equally as lame. Plus Edge had no buildup for winning the belt. Most of the casual fans probably don't even remember that he was owed a title shot.

They only did at first. They were chanting for Sting and then about Storm in the chicken outfit. I didn't think it was that bad. It was only 5 minutes before Christian came out. Had that been on a WWF show it would've been 20 with the faces never showing up. Eric Young resembled Sting quite a bit too.
-
They could hire Nathan Jones back to be a wet nurse for the baby.
-
It also has a large impact on the future of wrestling if it's a boy. 20 years from now you'll see their kid getting a major push and a bunch of WWF Title runs no matter what.
-
I pray it's not a boy. It's kind of funny this was announced right after we discussed this recently.
-
Impact, great show this week. Styles/Sabin/Daniels vs. Generation Next was good stuff. The end segment was pretty funny despite what some of the spoilers were claiming. James Storm flapping around during the end brawl was hilarious for the most part. Eric Young also got in a good one liner in the backstage area. I also like how they had various guys sharing their favorite Sting moments.

If they don't mind ratings and buyrates completely tanking until Mania then sure. -

I also get a kick out of the Destroyer. That guy's gotta be one of the happiest men on the planet. If he's not doing his mean wrestling face for pictures he's always got a huge smile. -
I wouldn't blame him for not enjoying that as 3 out of the 4 guys in that match aren't anything special. KENTA can't carry the whole load in the match.

Savage sucker punching him and the boating accident seem to be the two most likely events. -

I've never really bothered to learn the real names of wrestlers. It seems like useless knowledge and I'd never even consider calling a wrestler by their show name. Fans who call wrestlers by their real names deserve to be smacked in the back of the head by anyone within reach of them. Trolls? -

I think the problem though is that they're trying to blame him for bad booking. It's not his fault that the Angle feud has been going on forever and it's not his fault that every week has been essentially the same screwjob finish. The booking for him has been in a complete rut since he came to Raw and I think it killed his reign when they didn't give the fans the Cena/Christian feud they wanted. Wrestling wise his reign has been miles ahead of Batista but Batista is actually being booked somewhat competently.
