  1. I intend to for sure.

    Daniel Bryan

It's hard for me to see a number one case for the guy, or even really a top ten case. Maybe if he had 10-15 more PPV main events at the level of the match with Cena, but I feel like he's short on classic WWE matches. I love the guy and he'll make my top 100 for sure, but I don't think his career has been prolific enough to be considered for the top spot.
  3. When I've seen the bulk of the acclaimed stuff that's out there, I'm comfortable.
  4. Hard to use merch sales as an argument for someone when we don't have numbers, only anecdotes.
  5. I would change Britain to Europe. Just to confirm, the regions are defined based on where the home promotion is based, not where the match takes place, right? So something like Summerslam 1992 wouldn't be in the Britain region.

    Too Cold Scorpio

Is this 2 Cold Scorpio or Scorpio Jr.?
  7. I uploaded the complete match and would highly recommend watching it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJs1yLFvpTc&feature=youtu.be
  8. I swear I have read many times that they didn't want to draw old men who were turned on by the whole thing, so they wanted them cutting their hair short.

    Mitsuharu Misawa

Which matches would you say that most rings true for? It's definitely true in some cases.
  10. Good match with typical TV clipping. They are teasing dissension between Muto and Tenzan and Muto ends up walking out on his partner before coming back. Koshinaka is terribly sloppy here. We get a big chunk of this and it does have a pretty hot finishing stretch. Tenryu and Koshinaka get the win and the NWO excess is now unavoidable. Kojima joins the group. Is it possible to escape this crap?
  11. Cory Maclin interviews Baxter on the golf course in response to a Randy Hales interview where he talked openly about Brandon's personal problems on the air before he and Travis attacked him and threw him in a dumpster. He also talks about his family history and how he broke into pro wrestling. Baxter has turned babyface it looks like. I like him as a heel but I think he's much better as a babyface because he comes across as a genuine good guy.
  12. Francine hypes some match she's going to be in.
  13. This is billed as Credible vs Dreamer, but it looks more like a six-man tag with Jack Victory, Rod Price, New Jack and Kronus also involved. That New Jack balcony dive is one that has showed up in quite a few highlight reels. One Man Gang shows up and looks to be in great shape. Everything in ECW is beyond stale at this point. When everything is chaotic, nothing is chaotic. The most unpredictable thing they could do is have a match involving guys like Dreamer or the Dudleys and not have any outside interference or use of weapons.
  14. They're hyping some match I don't care about.

    Mitsuharu Misawa

It's a testament to Misawa that his matches still carried great intrigue and that despite being the best guy, he never seemed invincible. He could be beaten on the right night. Kawada and Kobashi would pin him in tag matches on rare occasions to keep the feuds alive, but they couldn't get the job done in a singles match. It took six years for Kawada to figure it out and even longer than that for Kobashi to put it together. What made Misawa so tough to beat was his determination to not lose. There were sometimes tactics he didn't use because he didn't have to use them. Notice he never targets Kawada's knee in the 12/93 and 5/94 tags even though Kobashi gave him openings. Kawada is throwing everything at him in the June match so Misawa has to go after the knee finally. And then nothing else works, so he has to bust out a move he hadn't used since 1991. I don't think he's comparable to Hogan's formula of suddenly being infused with the magical powers of Jesus and Ronald Reagan after taking a prolonged beating.
  16. Norton and Vincent run in to attack Malenko but the Horsemen quickly clear the ring. Arn's tire iron helps move everyone along. Arn warns the NWO that if they're going to take a shot at the Horsemen, they've gotta learn to finish the job. The Horsemen are taking the company back and they aren't putting up with Bischoff's roadblocks anymore, period. In spite of the fact that it could be even hotter, this is by far the hottest thing WCW has going at this point.
  17. The crowd is SO hot for this. They cut a fast pace and wrestle an exciting match. The work isn't super compelling, but it's solid, and the crowd reaction really makes this something special. This feels emblematic of the Attitude Era as much as any TV main event we have seen so far. Rock is FIP, which makes him look like a million bucks holding his own against the top two monsters in the company. He looks even better when Henry and D-Lo turn on him, because now the odds are stacked in a huge way. Austin ends up tied in the ropes with no tag team partner but manages to free himself. One of Vince's (masked) security guards comes out to attack Austin and it turns out to be Big Boss Man, who looks years younger than he did in WCW and has gotten in great shape. Undertaker goes after Austin's knee just like he did Vince's while Vince looks on in his wheelchair with a smile on his face.
  18. It took me a long time to get into Fujiwara, but once I did, I really appreciated him. I think after 1992 or so, his great performances are a bit more sporadic, but he's still very good. The Takada match on 10/25/90 is probably the best human chess game wrestling match I've ever seen.
  19. D-Lo and Mark Henry take exception to Rock teaming with Austin tonight.
  20. Foley coming along to help Vince dig out the keys of his cement-filled Corvette is priceless.
  21. Here it is - the famous segment where Austin fills Vince's Corvette with cement. I think WWE kept that for display purposes. I love the moment when the glass breaks. Austin follows by coming out for a promo, but Vince comes out with police and K-9 dogs. Austin gets uncomfortably close to them, but I think he's just trying to keep them riled up so the segment looks cool. Vince ends up making the Austin/Rock vs Undertaker/Kane main event, but I'm distracted by the dogs barking. This could have gone very wrong if one of the dogs broke free. Vince also warns Austin that he'll need eyes in the back of his head at some point tonight and goes into a great agonizing promo recapping all the things Austin did to him the week before. "YOU VIOLATED ME, AUSTIN! YOU VIOLATED ME!" - Vince in reference to the enema thing the week before This is where Vince also has the great line, "I've got balls the size of grapefruits! And this Sunday, you'll be picking the seeds out of your teeth!" Vince is amazing here.

    Mitsuharu Misawa

Not at all. That was the benefit of Misawa having so much credibility. Even in matches where he was challenging for the Triple Crown, he was the favorite, and the impetus was more on the champion to successfully ward him off.
  23. Mark Henry reads a poem to Chyna that melts my heart.
  24. Holy star-studded main event. They were going against Austin/Rock vs Undertaker/Kane on the other channel and couldn't compete with that. So much star power in wrestling at this time. I know Sting was going through personal problems at this point, so I'm not sure if it's just that the distraction was therapeutic, but Sting has looked really good since September. Warrior wrestles in jeans and his ring jacket for some reason. I guess he wasn't expecting to do a match when he arrived at the building. The NWO run in as soon as Warrior gets the hot tag. It was time to put some heat on Hogan in this feud, so I would have had no problem with that being how the segment played out. The mysterious cloud pops up and special effects have gone wrong. Sting ends up making the save with his baseball bat. Sting is hotter than he's been all year.
  25. Bischoff is out to explain that I HAVE A LEASE! Bischoff wants Dillinger and JJ Dillon out here. Bischoff vs Dillinger is shaping up to be WCW's Feud of the Year. He demands they take him to the skybox where they can throw the Horsemen out of the building. Bruce MacArthur claims this has nothing to do with the lease because it's a private party in his building. Bischoff shoves him and HE gets escorted out by building security in a chaotic scene that looks great on TV. Flair comes out to gloat. Bischoff gets carted out and is tremendous as the proto Stephanie McMahon. The elation from everyone - announcers, fans and the Horsemen in the skybox - make this an electric scene. Awesome stuff.
