  1. Now you are talking...Martel vs. Bock in 78 sounds great....as well as Bock and Jumbo in 79...gotta track that down...
  2. It's also worth visiting from what I understand. Flair/Kerry is about all I know too, so I'm interested in hearing what else is out there. Yes, beautiful place...went there on our Honeymoon in 2007....unreal place.....

  4. OK, With all the stars that stopped in Hawaii during the 70's and 80's for a vacation or on their way to / back from Japan, I am sure there have been a shit ton of good matches...how many great ones made video and are worth tracking down to watch? Outside Flair / Kerry 60 Min Draw in '85, I dont know much else. I know Bock and Martel went an hour, which I'd love to see, but dont know if its out there.. What's out there?

    Jaaawn Cena

Glad someone mentioned this and the Survivor Series match as I enjoyed them both, especially this one (Unforgiven) and think this was the first time I saw flashes of Cena being really good in the ring, including hanging in there reverse for reversal...
  6. I am gonna toss the 7 Buck Robely interviews up next...they are the best in terms of listening to stories, crazy and not crazy...plus you get to hear his view of why Brody acted the way he did as well as them holding up KC for teh NWA Title when Brody flash pinned Flair and took the belt and how they settled things in teh back...true? I dont know as I dont know the whole story..
  7. Maybe they do exist. Decemeber 30 of what year? I checked that site regularly for a LONG time and those last few years NEVER showed up... Curious where that info is from? I have everything he did (minus maybe 1 thing) and I checked that site until it went down as they even had a mention that on so and so date the site would go down and be done...

  9. Sorry, got behind...I will get htem all up there by tomorrow night, I promise!! I will toss up all the Buck Robely ones too this week...they are my favorite...he is both interesting as well as completely crazy in what he said he did in some territories in terms of making it HOT again...like his story of 80's Central States... EDIT - Matysik is up...all of them....except for 1966 Part 2...But I dont remember if he did that show or not as I dont have it with the rest, will look for it...OR they started in '72 and went through '83, then went back to '60 and got to '66 Part 1 when it stopped...that may be it as well...

  11. Muraco's best mic stuff was before he hit WWF land.. Wrestling wise, his WWF stuff from 81 - 86 is GREAT. His series with Morales was TOP NOTCH...and of course the Backlund, Steamer, and Tito stuff. I even enjoy (A hidden gem to me) his match vs. ORton after their break-up and his face turn in Fall '87 on Superstars I think.... Even his role in the Adonis Piper feud was really really good...its a shame Piper was leaving or they didnt start the feud a little earlier as they could have gotten more out of that feud, with Piper taking on Muraco and Orton before Adonis in higher profile matches... Yeah, the "Rock" stuff wasn't great as he was juiced to the gills and immobile... Somewhere down the road when Dwayne Johnson passes, they have the battle for the "Rock" name in heaven as a mid year feud. Should provide for some good TV...

  13. Eh, using that name was helpful as it had that "name value" to go with it..Kind of like some of the later Horsemen groups...Flair and AA were there, so they were the Horsemen....but were they really the "horsemen" from when it meant something special? Not to me...
  14. I dont think this version of the NWO was meant to be the "We are closing WCW down" type the original was..this was more a heel stable of the "best of the best" as they put it and they were going to protect themselves and their titles and take out anyone else.....More of a Horsemen type than 96 NWO.. And no I am in no way comparing them to the Horsemen in terms of worth, skills, or anything else.....its not even a conversation....but it is a the closest comparison I'd make in terms of what they were trying to be to me. Its the first thing I'd like to completely rebook starting the night Goldberg ended up destryoing his arm and nearly bleeding to death......just never sat down and started to flesh it out....maybe I shall.....I have no idea why, but anything NWO I love (hence the Atari NWO game Avatar)...even the B-Team in '99....loved that shit...call it my guilty pleasure.
  15. Jarrett wasnt leading it per say at the beginning, Hart and Nash really were...Jarrett was really there for the upper midcard...and being the piece of shit character he was, he was a good fit to stay there in that position...what they did in moving him to the main event level was due a lot to the injuries that happened...otherwise he stays in US Title scene for a while I'd think....
  16. That is the one I downloaded.... Pretty easy to get moving with? I tried EWR but couldnt really get into it as I had to determine it all....what makes it the most fun?
  17. I thought in these games you determine everythign that happens...is that not true? How do you get to these scenarios where the game says things like the Eaton comment? Sorry, dont know the game well but am VERY interested...
  18. OK I am a HUGE mark for anything NWO, I will say that from the start... Do you think the NWO 2000 version could have worked with just Hart / Steiner / Nash / Hall / Jarrett if Bret doesnt get hurt at Starrcade and then forced to quit after being in out of ring angles, followed by Goldberg ripping his arm apart on the limo, followed by Jarrett and Hall both getting injured, derailing things into the mess it became... When the last NWO formed, I thought it was great, it was just them and they even said they were just the best, no one else was coming...the night they formed, Nash's mic is broken which sucks as his comments could have been good. Thunder was good too with Bret being that asshole heel again.... I think it could have been their last shot with Goldberg going through the NWO on his way to Bret...Toss in Sid to the mix and you have two good babyfaces that eventually could have feuded (again I know, but it would later)... Then later in the year, Steiner can be moved up to the Main Event position as well, and Goldberg / Steiner feud could happen, which was fuckin awesome the way it did happen! Benoit / Eddy / Perry / Dean would still be gone as Sullivan would be booking...but if you could add them in and get rid of Sullivan instead...2000 could have been great....it really shows how shitty the management was of that place... In reality, even if no one gets hurt, they'd fuck it up! Thoughts?
  19. Yeah, very good point...but I think after Havoc 98, they finally started to focus on Goldberg and of course Nash as the two guys...just needed more focus on Goldberg..... But post Starrcade to me was a perfect time to stop, change things up and get moving again...they were still getting good ratings and the fall hadnt begun yet...
  20. Id like to find the newsgroups from the day and week after Starrcade 98 as I am curious what people were saying at that time..
  21. I collect games (mostly sports and wrestling titles) and it took me a while to find that WCW Superbrawl game to...wasnt super expensive but its the only time I've seen it since....
  22. WWF NO Mercy - Nintendo 64 - I remember getting out of work in 2000 (was out of college for 2 months) and heading to the store to pick this up on launch day in Oct. That fall / winter, me and my two best friends woudl play that and smoke some....stuff.....for HOURS on Friday and Saturday nights before and after going out or just staying in the whole night. Hands Down My Favorite and Tied for the best with: Firepro Series of Wrestling - Many Consoles - Graphically maybe not the best anymore, but damn was it / is it deep with create abilities moves and things you can do with it that no other game had in North America. I use this today for my own home fed when I have time...great to setup and watch matches...but as much credit as the game goes to the people that made all the different wrestlers and territory stars over the years. Others making the list: WCW / NWO Revenge WWF Wrestlemania 2000 WCW / NWO World Tour Virtua Pro Wrestling (Japan) Nintendo Pro Wrestling I am a HUGE fan of the Late 90's, early 2000's THQ / AKI Engine as you can see. Cant comment on too much post No Mercy as I really didnt play that much after that...although seeing WWE 14 and that Legends game above have me thinking about it!! Can you do a ton of CAW's in teh newer games to set it to a period you'd like ala Fire Pro? And yeah, Wrestlefest gets in there to for me as well...but not as high as others have it....I didnt play it a ton in arcades as I didnt frequent them so my emotional attachment isnt as big...
  23. The "Who's Bob Brown in each fed" question led to me this when I saw the Nash comments, particularly about Starrcade 1998. If everything is the same up to and during Starrcade, same ending with Nash winning after Goldberg gets shocked by returning Hall, walks into a powerbomb and loses...BUT afterward, starting the next night, the booking is done different with Goldberg still the main focus and the booking at the top being about Goldberg trying to get back to Nash, with Nash (now heel again) putting stuff in his way and watching it get knocked down.... Would there be soo much hatred toward the end of the Starrcade show? The fans popped when Nash won and honestly, the streak was going long enough, if you are gonna end it, why not at the show of the year in the main event with an ending that allows you to go into 1999 with things changing, but your main player still the man but chasing....
  24. I never understood that either not keeping Starrcade as THE show of the year... But to add to Loss's point, which is 100% accurate, the fact that the old line "Non-Wrestling Guys were running a wrestling company" really sticks it's head out here with this...But after 92, they got it again, at least close.. 93 forward was all back to a BIG show feel for WCW..Even 1995 was special as it was a bunch of foreign guys coming in for a big one night tournament to see who was better, plus the two matches for the World Title...WCW just did a SHIT job promoting the World Cup portion, as it was basically never mentioned on Nitro...96 forward "Got It" again...even 2000 was attempted to be special, but so many guys were injured, they were stuck with the Mystery Opponent at the end of NItro.....oh, its Sid....
