  3. Midnight Rockers had a nice run in Memphis as well after their first WWF days and before they returned to AWA Full time later in '87.. One match they have shown highlights of so I cant tell if it was good or not is vs. Rock 'N Roll Express....I would have really loved to see this match in 1987....think it could have been really good. Was it ever shown anywhere in full? Outside that, they were heels in Memphis (or turned heel) and were really good at it...Shawn was a good cocky heel. Its strange hearing Shawn say he really didnt care and wasnt into it when they were there since they thought they missed their big chance with WWF...but you couldnt tell from his on camera stuff... WWF Rockers I was never as much into...I think because they were just another tag team for a while in the group and not featured like in the other territories....Gorilla always called them "Tag Team Specialists.."...which I thought meant "Shitty singles wrestlers..."
  4. I like changing it here...gave it more of a "You better watch everything...you never where and when things will happen.."
  5. Chuck fuckin Norris...OK, today that woudl be badass due to all the recent years of Chuck love... But in '94 it was lame....there are like 6 guys coming down and no one wants to challenge Walker, Texas Ranger? I get suspending reality and all, but maybe have Chuck get tied up with a few guys kicking ass while another maybe sneaks by....but I woudl have not done any of that, as I wouldnt have done what htey did at the Rumble (I wrote my thoughts on that in January '94 thread) Instead, have your match, Taker about to win, then have one guy maybe run-in (Bigelow would be my choice) to break it up, then Taker goes after him, Yoko attacks....goes up, hits 3 or 4 Bonzai drops....goes to gloat, Taker sits up....Yoko sends him down...goes up for another Bonzai, but Taker sits up before he can hit it..Yoko stuck on ropes, Taker pulls him down, Yoko hits hard...Taker proceeds to beat him from there (Maybe choke him out since Tombstone is out of the question) and rolls him into Casket...bye bye Yoko...Taker is back and took Yoko's big moves, no sold them and won....Then you move on to Million Dollar feud, but with Bigelow....
  6. YES!! YES!! YES!!! But I'd have less, I'd have had one person distract him (or 2 with Cornette / Fuji, maybe salt in the eyes or grab the Urn and knock Paul over) and then Yoko detstroy him with a memorable number of Bonzai drops (like 10 with Benoit on Austin) until being forced out by Cornette and Fuji as "that's enough" type thing and the annoucers going crazy about "Somebody stop this...this is getting out of hand"...then have him rolled into the casket and closed... You wanna do the supernatural stuff afterward? Fine....not my thing, but hey, something for everyone...but at the end, Yoko looks like a fuckin killer.....Bret looks ever better in March and Taker's retrun in November is even bigger...would have some of this work in the Survivior Series match to...
  7. To me, this made Bret look like an asshole that couldnt trust his brother, so good for Owen for kicking his leg outta his leg. To make it worse, Bret comes out and wins the Rumble on a leg he couldnt stand on an hour or so before? That was always stupid to me as well....so either his injury wasnt as bad and he wanted to make sure he was OK for the Rumble, so he made it look worse for the ref to stop it OR he didnt give a fuck about winning the tag titles as it would have stopped his chase of the WWF Title and he did this to appease the littel brother....then Bret has to be strechered out due to his bad leg, but again, shows up and wins Rumble? Having Bret not in the Rumble at all due to injury OR have Owen get pinned due to something that he perceived Bret to not do would have been way better to me and made Bret look like a decent guy. Either way, Bret looks like the asshole in this one to me,...but I was 16....and was looking it at from that angry standpoint....and always will!!!! And poor Owen - his two biggest moments overshadowed by one bad line and then a huge wad of spit on his face after the Mania Win....
  8. Exactly...this said it perfectly...if you are putting them in this cage, let it be wild....maybe if they put the smaller cage inside around the ring and then dogs in between??? Wonder if that woudl have worked...
  9. The way they made Vader unstoppable all-day in teh lead up (in his lockeroom being watched and he'd kill anyone that came hear him) and then him not being as much a killer as they said when he got in there really hurt this for me....Flair wins, fine...end the feud, but Vader should have killed the Boss AND then he and Harley attack Flair post match (after Flair gets the win with some kind of help from theBoss) to keep him the big killer heel he was......the ending just made no sense...
  10. I think the whole thing about 3 people wrestling at once and going for an hour, with some of the first all threee guys doing a sleeper spot and then some violence that was new was why this match got and gets all teh love it still does.. Plus, like anything, it grows over the years as new people will hear and say "Oh, this is that great match..." but dont watch it as its an hour long. The match isnt very good....but I get why it got and gets all the love it does...the innovation for the time and people piling on later..

    Current WWE

Fuckin shit.....who gives a shit if he isnt built great...if the dude can go AND talk , which Hero can, get him out there and give it a shot.....put him in a singlet with long pants or something if his body bothers you..shit, put him in the Super H shirt but make it a Super KO or something like that... To not get him out there wrestling and doing what he does best due to his body not being all roided up (sorry, MORE time spent in the gym) is bullshit....and Punk's body really isnt that better, but like someone else said, his tats hide a lot of it...and he proved WWE wrong when they were down on him in 2007....

    WWECW

Huh...OK then.....I could have swore that got a TON of love when it happened in 2007 and that Test was reinventing himself and becoming really good again....oh well, I smoked a lot back then (of many things!)...glad I didnt re-watch it!! Maybe its just due to that nasty cut Holly got on his back. 07-08 WWECW to me will always be Punk's first great run in WWE as he battled Nitro/Morrison and then Chavo in some excellent matches on TV....

Didnt Holley / Lashley / Test have some decent TV matches in late '06 - early 2007? Also, CM Punk and Elijah Burke had a good series in Spring 2007 - leading to a 2/3 falls match on TV

Cena/Morrison from the show following the Benoit tribute is an excellent match too from a period where Cena was red hot. I remember saying to my wife "These two will be in the main event at Wrestlemania some day..(Punk / Morrison)....I was HALF right (and it was Punk, kind of hard to be wrong with him!)...and who knows how far John COULD have gone....

I didnt see them listed here, but the CM Punk vs. Johnny Nitro series was really good in 2007... And to me, the BEST WWECW matches were between Christian and Jack Swagger in 2009 (I think that is the year) over the ECW title...they had 2 really good matches on TV as well as a really good PPV match.. I will have to look through my results and listings to see what other stuff they had.. WWECW, once it became its own thing and not "ECW 2.0" was actually a show I really enjoyed.....gave newcomers a chance to shine and get a storyline as well as allow some guys who were really good in teh ring, but lost in the shuffle on the big shows a chance to shine...I think they should have kept it...
  17. On YouTube, there are both La Gran Guerra's listed, but both start the EXACT same footage, making me think both are the second one... Anywhere the first one is online?
  18. I am in the middle with Rotunda....his Florida stuff is good for WRESTLING...and I like the IRS character and didnt mind him in the tag team with Dibiase as Money Inc...for that timeframe he was fine. His TV Title loss to Sting is decent (and its the first match from Center Stage on WCW, the first not to be in the TechWood studios..if someone mentioned that already..sorry, didnt read page 1.) and I also enjoy his title win over Nikita Koloff in '88 BUT, the one thing that really REALLY bothers me about Rotunda is his sweating...that dude sweats like a motherfuker in his matches and when he's not in IRS gear, he looks like he has a hose on low and its going everyhwere...its disgusting...probably why WWF put him in the full gear, as when he came back to WWE in 1991, production values were better and that shit would be everywhere on camera....seriously, if you dont remember go watch his matches in just trunks...its nasty..the singlet helped, but not a ton....
  19. NOthing to do with this match...but I find it funny that Kawada can be in both the non-toughest and the toughest sounding tag team matches during his career: Fantastics vs. Footloose - Yeah, not tough sounding at all..... Miracle Violence Connection vs. Holy Demon Army - Can't get any tougher or scarier than that!
  20. YES!!! Thanks for the appetizers.... Glad to see your still around...I know how ya feel about work....but being in IT...I can be online watching matches while I work at night / weekends when needed!!
  21. Watching the 4 FUCKIN HORSEMEN badasses for life, run away from Robocop was a HORRID IDEA...I cant believe the guys went for it...I'd have been like "Fuck that...we are killers...we aint runnin from a movie character....fuck him, kill Sting!"
  22. I dont think Verne had any stake in Central States....he got into STL when it was a still the MAJOR NWA Town...Larry Matysik goes over a ton of this in his many many interviews he did with 57talk.com If you'd like to hear them, I can get them all to you...he did a few shoots and then a TON of booking sheets shows....really interesting stuff to hear going through teh 60's and 70's into the end in the early 80's.
  23. Saw a cool Austin interview where he mentions that while he was lying there after he "passed out" while Bret and Shamrock were doing their thing, he was thinking something to the effect of "We fucking nailed this match perfectly..."
  24. They had a site a while back that had all their episodes on it, each for a small fee you could download....they had some big shows on there as well....but I stupidly deleted the big ones..I had 4 or 5 of them...not sure if still available or not....
