  1. Heading to an Inspire Pro Wrestling Show in a few minutes here in ATX. Has a lot of good to great talent on the card.
  2. I always loved Starcade 88 as a card. My main problem was the amount of tags in a row on the show. So it didn't seem as diverse as it was suggested it was . Great show guys. So Windham left cause he made a play for the book. So the story of him leaving to have surgery , but not having the surgery is false?
  3. The j-tex angle in 89 I'm guessing. I'm pretty sure the guys had their tongue firmly in their cheek.
  4. Wasn't Matysik the one who pushed for Flair to go over Luger clean, and it was Flair who suggested the feet on the rope as a compromise.
  5. This was pretty mediocre and the worst day so far. Komatsu vs Owens This was just a basic match that didn't get enough time to truly develop one way or another. Pretty much a solid match 2 1/2* N. Jackson vs. Finlay Finlay did none of the nasty looking stuff that got him over with me earlier in the tourney. The camera shot of Nick's kick on the apron was stiff as hell looking. Somehow you hope that we get the Bucks vs. The Finlays so when the bucks go suck it.Fit.kicks their teeth in. Nick guzzled Finlay here. 2 * Baretta vs Cavenario This was the most entertaining match. It just went a bit long . 2 3/4* Romero vs Tiger Mask This was pretty bad. Both guys seemed like they had a different idea on how this should work out. . So they seemed to never be on the same page. 1 1/2*
  6. It's not just a one trick pony. The t.v has been good-great all year.

    Evolve 43

Galloway vs Busick Busick's work on the mat is so tight looking. Busick is taking a beating. Big upper cut by Busick. Galloway needs to cut the ringside brawling out. Someone should explain that the majority of promotions he works for doesn't have WWE's camera set up. This really is quite the battle. This was a solid match. I was expecting more and the finish was anti climatic. Overall one bad match with Richards where I wouldn't be shocked that their will be a camp that liked it. The rest of the card was really great, with just a solid main event. I'd give it an easy thumbs up show. The lighting was mickey mouse, but the crowd seemed louder than normal for the Evolve shows this year.

Ronin vs Gulak/Tracy Williams This was a really good tag. Gulak and Williams seemed like a real throwback team. Another good bout. This has been a pretty easy thunbs up so far.

Lee get's a ton of mileage out of losing.Perfectly worked in that sense.

Hero vs Lee Hero is having a heck of a year. I love Hero's homage to Seattle Supersonics trunks. Lee is real hit or miss for me. I enjoyed the early portions of the match, but really enjoying the meat of the match. Lee's selling of the leg is great. His work underneath has been fantastic. That running German was sick, but took away from Lee's selling of the leg story. That elbow of Hero's is lethal. Great match 4*

Mike Bailey vs TJ Perkins This should be a blast. Man the mat wrestling here is a lot of fun. Mixing it up with nice strikes. Then incorporating some highspots. Man their doing a great job incorporating a lot of different elements. It started to drag a bit. Should have gone home a minute or 2 earlier. Finish felt cheap, but builds to rematches. A good match in the 3 1/2* range.

    Evolve 43

Richards vs Konley The counters of counters was interesting. The match seems pretty aimless though. Just a collection of moves. Not feeling this at all. This is going way too long. On top of it Konley's strikes are looking really bad down the stretch.

Opening match . Horus vs Nese I think this has been the best I've seen Horus. Big win for Horus.

    Evolve 43

Evolve 43 is on tonight. I ordered the show. Follow along and post your thoughts.
  17. Absolute Andy vs Keel This is a big boy match. Andy is good working the crowd. Some of Andy's offense seems light. I didn't feel this one at all. 1 1/2* Sabre Jr. vs Harada Man super quick on the mat. Loved Harada's Oklahoma roll. The counter wrestling is off the chart. Zack eats a lightning quick belly to belly, and an even quicker Dragon Screw. Then nails him with a superplex. In an amazing spot catches Harada off a dive into an armbar. The rope running spots were just nasty. Harada had him on the ropes and we get a flash pin. Great stuff. 3 3/4* Alexander vs Tischer vs Uhaa Nation vs Sabin So far has been a super fun match. A real go go go. The dives were really well built to. Tons of hot moves. This is one of those Killer multi match matches that is gaining poularity on shows. This was a great spectacle. 4* Beck vs Big Daddy Walter Big time hoss battle. Beck grinding his forearm across Walter's forehead.I thought this dragged and was boring. 1 1/2* Another good show. The good matches were really good. We got a great crowd, and another thumbs up show.
  18. I did not get Ambition. I'm not real familiar with wXw but saw some people praising the work in it and decided to check out 16 Carat. I'm now going to check out more stuff. The Everett/End match seemed to be a match that would get over better live than tape, and the crowd ate it up.
  19. wXw 16 Carat Gold Night 2 We get another mixed tag to start this show I'm not a fan of the intergender stuff. Some people like it so more power to them. I really liked the schtick the girls did. The girls worked really hard here. I'd be curious what a Sasha or Charlotte would do with them. Overall it was entertaining. Tommy End vs Andrew Everett This has potential. End really looks like a tough guy. This is a total differences in styles. Everett starts out with his high spots too soon and End kills him dead. End with a nasty punch. Everett on the comeback trail. End cuts him off. Nasty knee strike by End. Man these guys need to use some transitions. They went from big move to big move with minimal selling. Everett reminds me of Pac/Neville 2 1/2* Marty Scrull vs Axel Dieter jr. Scrull is great early on mixing up nasty strikes. Scrull is pretty nasty working the arm. Dieter was great at working a comeback. Scrull again is a great heel on top. The crowd is so behind Dieter. Flash pin. The work was really good here and made up most of the time. 3 1/2* 6 Way Dance Their was a lot going on here, John Klinger vs Draganoff This is a hard hitting affair. The build here is both guys were in solitare so they are agressive. A total smash mouth type of wrestling. It has a real Finlay/Regal match feel to it. Draganoff's chest looks like hamburger. This match was nuts. The momentum shifts could have been done better, but man this was as a hard hitting affair as I've seen all year. These guys made Shemus strikes look pussy like. 4* I'll finish this later.
  20. 1.Flair 2.Tenyru 3.Jumbo 4. Hansen 5. Liger 6.Misterio 7.Lawler 8.Casas 9.Santo 10.Bockwinkle No particular order
  21. Shelley is injured and thus had to forfeit the rest of his matches.
  22. Sabre Jr. vs Axel Tischer wXw 16 Carat Gold Tournament Night 1. Sabre Jr is having a good year all over the world. The grappling early is well done. This is straight up mat wrestling Tischer after eating a couple of forearms nails Sabre with a big boot. Flying armbar by Sabre. Sabre Jr. was so crisp with his moves. Tischer going after Sabre Jr.s neck with high impact stuff was nice. Sabre Jr going after the arm was great. Their were a lot of nifty attempted submissions from both guys The finishing run of submissions and big moves was great. Tischer's no sell of the Dragon Suplex pissed me off a bit. The top rope spot was a tad sloppy . Sabre finally finishes it just about as nasty as a finish that I've seen. A couple of things kept this out of the rare air of matches. Even so I might have this in my top 10 right now. 4 1/4*
  23. Harada vs Kim Ray The crowd hates Ray. Ray uses a lot of kicks. Harada used a nice belly to belly throw. Transitions seem to be lacking here. Harada's offense looks real crisp though. Ray comes across real samey with the amounts of kicks he uses. 1 3/4* Andrew Everett vs Dreiskker Dreiskker won the 4 way early to get into the tournament. I like the cat and mouse stuff early. Everett using his speed and high flying to keep the Avalanche off balance. Dreiskker using high impact stuff and using his weight to work over Everett. The momentum shifted back and forth with neither guy having long heat/or shine segments. Overall it was solid wrestling. 2 1/4* Sabre Jr. vs Axel Tischer Sabre Jr is having a good year all over the world. 4 1/4* Mixed tag match I'm going to see the World's Cutest tag team live on Sunday at an Inspire Pro Show on Sunday. The crowd was loving this. Me it was what it was. I thought the show was a solid show. It was a mixed bag in it was inconsistent. I thought the commentary team was pretty good. It took them a match or 2 but after that they got their chemistry down. I thought they were good at calling the moves, giving background on the wrestlers, and making it seem like a real sport they were calling. The one draw back was I thought they could have tried to get over the story of the match. The exception was the Thatcher match and Sabre Jr match where they were on point at trying to get the story of the match over. I have 2 more nights and I hope these guys get more opportunities to do commentary together.
  24. I'm watching the wXw 16 Carat Gold Tournament night 1. This has a lot of talent in it so it could be really good. Plus it has Alan 4L on commentary The Opening 4 way This was to replace Ricochet who had flight problems. This was a fun match with everyone working hard, mixed in some schtick and it was really an enjoyable opener. 2 1/2 Cedric Alexander vs Marty Scurll I like both of these guys so lets see how how it plays out. We start out with a mat wrestling sequence. Alexander uses his high flying to gain an early advantage. Scurll gains control with a nasty arm breaker followed up by a nasty running upper cut. Marty manipulates Cedric's digits. More arm work by Scurll ending with an Octopus. Cedric with a comeback. Scrull cuts him off. Cedric gets the crowd really behind . We're building to a fun stretch run. Scrull finishing stretch was very well done. 3 3/4* Absolute Andy vs Sha Samuels This is a pair of big boys fighting it out. A back and forth match. It's really not resonating for me. Samuels is more entertaining when he works some comedy spots in his matches. 1 1/2* Dieter Jr. vs Thatcher We get some pretty gritty mat work to start. I'm liking Dieter's underneath work. Thatcher dissecting the arm here. Thatcher has a lot of cool ways to work an arm and we see it fully here, Thatcher's head butt looked pretty weak, but the announcers put it over big. Now Dieter's looked nasty. 3 3/4* Chris Sabin vs Tommy End End has been getting a lot of buzz lately. He has a long history in wXw. We're getting a lot of counter wrestling to start. Sabin uses his speed to gain control. End uses his strikes to get back in the game. A little too many momentum shifts for my liking. Still a good match 3* Uhaa Nation vs Keel Nation has a lot of charisma. They seem to lack chemistry in the match. A so so match. 1 3/4* I'm going to take a break at finish up at another time.

    Dick Slater

His matches in Mid-South with Jake were really good, the Butch Reed ones were solid, had fun brawls with Duggan. He had a late resurgence in Memphis. He had a real good brawl with Flair in 89. What could hurt him is amount of footage.
