I'm part way through this so far. Both of you guys have interesting takes on the candidates. My question is Dylan you said none of your research meant squat for Patera. Later in the show you credited to research on Volk Han a possible bump because of the article. Why do you feel one article helped one candidate, but not the other one?

I heard a lot of random people talking about Sting on my way to work .
-
I agree. People love him as a face. I liked him better as a heel. Zigger is awful as a heel. His lack of offense isn't really a big deal when he's getting his ass kicked for 90% of the match, but it becomes really noticeable when he has to work a control segment and busts out a million chinlocks. I don't disagree with this. Ziggler is a guy who should be in a tag team . He has too many holes in his skill set. Yet I prefer his bumping to help make a baby face look good .

My point of the you tube stuff is that you can watch it on you tube. It's not necessary for it to take up space on the network.

Is the time stamps off by 20 minutes?

I will say that the main event did get me on an emotional level at the finish. I did scream ZigZag at the t.v at the last desperation ZigZAg. I'm not even a Ziggler guy. Then we get the Sting thing complete with Titantron and slow walk hurt the whole finish.

Matt a tag match sounds good. The key is to find the right components.

Sting/Show has been done. Sting /Kane sounds terrible. Matt I thought you said you had better options.

I'm proud you got through it. I thought after the Henry elimination you'd shut it off . The main event almost felt like a troll of your fixing the WWE series.

The match was bad till the finishing stretch. The booking of Mizdow getting the pin was great. Goldust smoked everyone else in the ring. Great crowd for Mizdow. Usos were good. Stardust looks so exposed working with his brother.

How much Johnny Valentine is on tape?
-
I forgot to add Verne Gagne and Jerry Lawler, maybe Bill Dundee.
-
I'm not high on the guy, but Inoki would need a look. Some other dark horses would be Buddy Rose, Bob Backlund, and Greg Valentine.

Moved the 70's talk to it's own thread. Kept the Jumbo centric ones here.

I just went through Brisco's post prime matches in the Microscope. He still was pretty damn good. He knows how to work a leg or arm and make it really interesting. He might not be as athletically gifted as he once was but he still has plenty in the tank, and his storytelling is still damn good.

Jack Brisco vs. Roddy Piper 07/07/82) This was a good match. I liked the amateur stuff on the mat and the payoff with Piper's hair pull was pretty awesome. Brisco's headlock work was pretty great. Piper was good with his heeling. I liked the finish as well. As a match it was good though it left me a little cold. ***

Jack Brisco vs. Don Muraco (April / May 1982?) Muraco does have a ton of charisma. This match was interesting. The story they told was easy to follow. The crowd was super into it. Some of Muraco's strikes were weak early on. He got it later on though. ** 1/2.

Jack Brisco vs. Ric Flair (08/18/82) The presentation of this with the promos and angle were tremendous. I really liked Jack's shine where he'd work over Flair's arm. Jack would use arm drags to get back to the arm. I love the rolling Key lock on the mat. In a nice touch Jack Irish Whips Flair into the corner and Flair bumps his shoulder to further work the shoulder. Flair is great in this by selling his ass off for Jack. Jack goes for the cover and Flair does a kick out and Jack bumps to the floor. Flair gets a run on top including a very mediocre piledriver that anyone would buy as a transition move because of how weak it was. Jiack back on top. He does a hamstring pull. He goes for the Figure 4 and Flair escapes immediately. Flair tries a Figure 4 and Brisco escapes. This is a nice touch since both are masters of the Figure 4. They should also no the escapes. We got to the typical Flair finish, and just like in the Kerry Von Erich title win Jack wins with a backslide. Final Thoughts: I thought the match was pretty good. The early shine by Jack was well done. Flair was great at allowing Jack to shine, and made him look like a threat to the title. I wish the commentary would have pushed Brisco harder as a former World Champion. The presentation was great, but that was the missing piece. The match was a great studio bout. *** 1/2
