I'm not saying he's a great worker in WCW. I really can't draw any conclusions.

I remember liking the 6 man from Halloween Havoc. The Doom and Steiners matches you're referring to I'm assuming are the Starcade ppv which was a tournament. I didn't think there were any good tags on that show which happens in wrestling.Look at Wrerestling Classic, and Wrestlemania 4 as examples of this. So it wasn't just the SST. What other matches are you basing your opinion on. If you're drawing your conclusion on 2 ppv's that's a pretty weak sampling size.

Part of it is he gained weight. I also don't think WCW put him in a position to have great matches.

Watching 80's WWF the Strike Force vs. Islanders might be the best series of tag matches of the 80's in the WWF. Fatu was a big part of it. Their feud was great.

Nominate him. The reviews are in the 80's set folder.Their are more than 3 based on Strike Force vs. The Islanders matches.

He was also a trend setter in a way. The World champions before him were never monsters. Some were big like Hogan. Vader set the precedent for wrestlers like Yoko, Big Show, and that ilk to become world champions. When Vader challenged Sting in 92 I never thought he had a chance at beating Sting because we were taught monsters never won the World Title. We'd see Andre , OMG, Kamala, Bossman, and Earthquake would challenge but fall short. So influence he has going for him too.

The stories was that Hogan was the 1st choice. Hogan wasn't totally committed to the idea of turning heel because of a loss of income of merch sales. They had a backup plan since they've had Hogan change his mind at the last minute before.

Nitros have been added. Rivalries are still coming. September has come and gone and we've gotten zilch on WCCW and ECW.

I hadn't gone to a live Raw on years and went to one this year. That was the worst. I had to try to explain this to my friends who went with me because his GF is a Total Divas fan.

To me Parv's just trying to prioritize. He wants to do his due diligence. Having time is an issue. Should Parv watch 10 Johnny Saint matches, 10 Tracy Smothers matches, 10 Jerry Lynn match or 10 Quack matches. I think after 10 matches of someone you can flesh a wrestler out. That's a number for me, not a universal number that should be used.

Lol. Not all of us are Professors.

He has a lot of good matches against the likes of Piper, Santana, Steamboat , Hogan ,Dustin Rhodes, Cactus Jack, and Orton. He's missing those standout performances. He has his strengths. He has an intensity to him, and you really believe in him as a wrestler and as a personality in the ring. I don't see him making my list.

OJ this is such a smart idea.

I went back and revisited the 3/7/82 and was pretty wrong about it being boring. Billy was great here at pushing the action. Dory though if he didn't have Billy pushing the action he would have been content to sit in holds. Not to shit on Dory entirely his European forearms were quite nasty at times. The carny counters by Billy were nicely worked. I liked Billy's work on Dory's back though it did look like Dory kinda flubbed it at 1st, but they got it right a few seconds later. I didn't quite understand why Billy was selling his back in the earlier stages. What I liked about the mat work was that it seemed like a contest. Later Billy starts going after the leg. He has a way of applying leg locks, and working the leg that looks like he's adding extra torque to it. We see Dory with a neat reversal that sets up his spinning toe hold. Parv I new exactly the moment you're talking about with Dory and the arm lock shutting the momentum of the match. Eventually we get a draw out of this. One thing about Billy is he does so much great stuff that sometimes it hurts the flow of the match and it did a little here. He'll go from working the arm, to the back, to the leg etc. Still this is a good match 3 3/4*.

Let me add to the love of Satanico. The guy is so good. He has one of the great faces of all of wrestling.

I really enjoyed his series with Jumbo from the 70's when I watched them years ago.

I haven't seen the 3/7/82 match in a while. I remember it being very dull. Robinson would do a cool thing here and there. Then back to dullsville. I need to revisit it eventually .

According to my notes I had it at. 4 1/2. This was years ago when I watched it. I need to revisit at some point.

In the original SC poll one of the knocks on Joe was his longevity at the time. 10 years later it's interesting to see if he makes it or not. He's going to one of the more interesting stories.

Went to a comic con to meet some wrestlers from the 80's . I gotta say Tito Santana and Demolition were all great guys. It was kinda surreal to talk University of Texas Football with Bill Eadie in face paint. Their was a Q and A scheduled and the only person who showed was Mayrase the Miz's wife. This was a train wreck. Of course she puts him over. Their was some humor to it. Some kid asks if she hates Dolph because he keeps beating your husband. She laughed and says she doesn't hate Dolph. Another kid asked if Brock went after the MiZ would he run away. I asked about 5 questions because no one else was getting up to ask any so I felt bad for her. One question I asked her and she ended up bashing Vince. She realized quickly that wasn't a good thing and stopped. The host tried to end this 15 minutes early because he could see this wasn't going well by saying I'm sure you need to run. She's like no, I have plenty of time. So it continued. Just a train wreck of a Q and A. The host points out her wedding ring by mentioning her husband must be doing well. She also mentioned they're trying to have a baby.

No. Cox is confusing it with the MSG DVD.
