    I love Buddy. I have watched the Buddy set and he is amazing. I would have him in my top 10 if a gun was pointed at me I would rank him #7. That is a great spot.The sole reason I would have have Bock over Rose is that Bock was able to have great matches in a variety of different places. Rose really had Portland , AWA, WWF , and San Fransisco. I think both guys comp well. Both were great heels, both were great baby faces , both can carry promotion in the ring, both are amazing tag workers, both are good promos. I also thought both were great at having different type of matches with a variety of opponents. I also give Buddy credit for creating sock accounts to vote Rose and Sommers as greatest tag team in AWA history on Kayfabe memories years ago. He must have known the voters haven't watched the footage.

    I decided to talk a little bit about Jerry Lynn. I just back from an Indy show here in Austin that was billed as his last match in Austin. I have seen people shit on him for his 2.9 and near fall fests. I always thought the guy worked hard. Sure their were flaws in his story telling method, but I don't think you can challenge the fact that he worked hard. I mean in a main event in front of 300-400 people he worked his ass off . It started with some basic exchanges and turned into a nasty brawl. I mean Lynn went through plywood , took a couple of ladder bumps, did a sunset flip through a table with no padding on the floor. ( I know his opponent took the brunt of the bump) He also took some bumps into chairs. I talked to him for a couple of minutes before the show. I told him I recently watched 3 matches of him and Waltman from 90. I told him how awesome those matches were in working a territorial blood feud with a innovative wrestling style . He replied with a thanks, and that we were killing ourselves to get noticed. On his last night wrestling in Austin he worked hard and nearly killed him selves for the fans.

    I'd have Rose right on the outside. He was amazing in the ring, peak just not long enough. For me I have Flair, Lawler, Hansen,Funk,Mysterio, and then Bock. Though in a year it could change on a dime .

    I echo Loss pretty much. The main event was tremendous. The MX 6 man was a ton of fun. Windham/ Luger was pretty good that deserved more time. I haven't seen the Roadies match in a while , but thought it was solid .

    I'm kinda surprised that their was no mention of Meltzer marking out in the front row (unless I zoned out) . Plus I have to give Parv credit for sticking to his guns on the Mike Routunda vs. IRS argument. I thought seeing Flair on his knees with his head down on the ropes realizing he lost the world title is just an epic moment.

    I thought the show was tremendous. If I was ranking the 3 I'd have it Flair, Lawler, Funk . When the 80 's sets are done I believe Flair will be the most represented.

    I' m almost through the AWA set and Bock has been tremendous in it. The thing he really hangs his hat is his versatility. All of his matches seem unique. I think you could make an argument for Bock as a top 5 U.S worker of all time.

    I'm glad you saw the light. What you just said is a fair assessment in my eyes. I always thought he could do something kinda neat in a match , but just not put it completely together . Thus would lead to a lot of inconsistency .

    I haven't seen it in a couple of years, but I like the match on Saturday Night in 89 when Sting wins the t.v title . It had a big time vibe to it.

    The one on the Bret DVD was very good. That's the Bees match I'm talking about. Very good match and the best performance I can remember seeing from the HF. They may have had better matches, but none where they looked that good from bell-to-bell. Top five in no particular order at the moment would be Arn/Tully, Lane/Eaton, Eaton/Condrey, Fabs and RnR's. Rose/Somers might be my numbers six and would be higher if they had more than a year. Rockers and High Flyers would also make my top ten. I think Bret also discusses this in his book. His parents were in the audience for this match. So it's kinda funny that Bret tried even harder because his parents are in the audience.

    Crockett Cup 88 I keep on getting confused about the awesome match against Arn and Tully from Clash 1 but Luger's partner is Windham there. Keep getting it mixed up. They also worked the Road Warriors on the last Main Event show of 88.

    A pretty cold match between the teams. It still had its merits.

    The Dog Of War Kiss must have been some kind of rib. Percy in the dress was freaking awesome. Still was their an angle in the past where Percy would hate Fritz? I like penalty box matches.

    For me I would have the MX, Rock N Roll Express, Tully and Arn, and The Rockers ahead of them. With the Rockers it's just by a hair. Teams like the Fabs, and Heavenly Bodies are right up there. If you consider Lawler and Dundee a team they would be up there too. The Rockers and The Fantastics are an interesting comp. The Fantastics have the MX feuds as their crown jewel in 3 different promotions. The Rockers have the Rose/Sommers feud as their best feud.Then both teams have good matches with a variety of teams. The Fantastics have the Sheepherders,Rock N Roll RPM's, Varsity Club,Sting and Gilbert, Tully and Arn, Gilbert and Simmons, and plenty of others. The Rockers got a good match out of Demolition,Hart Foundation, Badd Company, Orton/Adonis, Tully and Arn, The Rougeaus,Powers of Pain, and plenty of others. I have the Rockers by a hair. Though one thing The Fantastics did that the Rockers didn't was have a good run in Japan. They were good enough to modify their style and work in Japan and have good matches that got over to a degree.

    The cruiserweight comparison is a pretty interesting take. Once I think about it that is a great example, except their were great cruiserweight matches. Though the nuts and bolts of the argument is spot on.

    I'm impressed that you guys actually reviewed this horrible card. I would have told everyone that my dog ate my copy. Too bad your copies didn't have commercials so you would have something more interesting to talk about than that dreadful Clash. A couple of points on the show. George Scott did the same angle with Flair and Steamboat in 77 or 78. In regards to the Fantastics/Varsity Club match. This was the swan song for the Fantastics. The Fantastics thought the Varsity Club was being uncooperative in the ring, and actually stiffing them. So Parv when you thought that Rotundo showed more agression and crispness it might be that he was stiffing the Fantastics.

    I have no problem with Cowabunga. I mean it's comedy in Memphis. With that said their is no way would he even be near the main event players.
