Alzado was a big star. He was a bad boy on a team full hoodlums on the Oakland Raiders. If you grew up in that era like I did his name would be on the short list of most remembered DE. The guys you remember from the 80's at that position are Gasteneau, Dent, Ed too tall Jones, and Alzado is in the mix.

This is a nice little segment. Adding Pringle to the mix makes it even more icky.

I like to see this side of Flair's character.

I'm going to say he's watching Lawler vs. Idol in the cage.

I'm a mark for fireballs too. Just having guys who all can talk and work really gets Memphis singing.

It's tough to build up a new champ when the old one is better in all aspects, 2ndly they are both similar in that they are modern day heroes. So in theory they both should be booked the same against monsters. Though you can't build 2 monsters on top. So they really painted themselves in a corner.

I like how they don't pretend that the audience doesn't know who Slaughter is.

I can't really add much to this. I loved how when the girls were running after each other they both fell in the same spot. It added realism and even more chaos. What Loss says about Adams is pretty mindblowing when you break it down.

This was a good brawl. They had a good chemistry together I guess stemming from their GCW. The finish also set up Hansen for another Japan tour.

We have the match from Barcelona already on Bret's first DVD. I have not seen the Milan match but I would be surprised if it is worked differently than the one from Barcelona or KOTR. I would have included the HV match with Luger from 5/25 or the HV title defense against Bam Bam from 3/8 (if they really wanted to get a match against Bigelow). The KOTR and Barcelona matches are wildly different but I do get your point. Instead of the Luger match I'd include the handheld of Luger/Ramon vs Perfect/Hart. Can't they seize that stuff as their own? I agree the KOTR and Barcelona matches are different. The Milan match probably won't be like the KOTR match so I don't know why I even brought that up. Re: handhelds, I think the problem is they would consider it sub-par quality. It's like a band releasing an audience recording of a live show/song. For the most part, doesn't really happen. Plus with handhelds they would be telling their audience it's ok to illegally film are shows.

I've always liked the 1st tag match on the show. I can see where people might have thought it went too long for a babyface match though. Per the Fantastics coming across violent In UWF they had a pretty famous blood feud with the Sheepherders, along with some bloody fights in the NWA. Their is one on the main Event in 88 that went like 12 minutes, but they only show 6 minutes of it. What was shown was a great brawl. Also on the U.S tag team tourney I think the Sheepherders were originally booked to win it. Their is actually a match where they went over the Fantastics that was televised in the tournament. The Sheepherders went to WWF. The t.v explanation was the sheepherders cheated on review, and Fantastics were still in tournament. This is if my memory serves me right.

Is this the match Bret complains about where Flair botched the finish and improvised that finish?
-
So now the feud of the year looks to have ended.

A nice angle that sets up the tag match.

I liked how he started out as Terry Bollea and morphed into the Hulkster. Awesome stuff and an amazing promo.

A good segment to hype their match.

I thought this was a great fight and delivered off of the angle. From the Roberts/Parsons feud from the 80's set you know Parson's knows how to work snug. I liked how they brought up Iceman's boxer background. For a guy with curly blond hair Jarrett did a good job here.

Crush with his interview style works here. It's a shame they're phasing out Eadie.

I liked the match. Some of the nice little things were Flair throwing Sting on the knee to the outside. Flair throwing Sting into the ring on his knee. The crowd heat was great. The moment was amazing. The stips were crappy. Still I like this more than Capital Combat. I too wish we would have had twice the time. We really would have seen Flair work the knee.

A good tag that told a story. The crowd wasn't into it as most Rock N Roll bouts. I think Reed feels much more comfortable working this style than the style with the Steiners.

A good solid bout. When I saw it live in 90 I was shocked how good it was. Even knowing it was a good bout, I was still surprised.
