This is the 1 st of Pierre Martel i've seen. Being the brother of Rick I've always been curious how he worked. Here we have a really fun match. We get a a nice opening shine. We see the faces tag in and out just working the arm. Eventually the heels cut them off. They work over Pierre and toss him to the floor. He gets up and he's gushing blood. Los Mercenarios do a great job working over the cut. He gets a hot tag to Dellaserra who holds them off for a bit. Babyfaces come out to take Martel to the back. Dellaserra is selling big here. Martel comes back out and we get a schmozz . I liked the opening shine. I enjoyed the working of the cut. The angle worked. Overall good stuff. 3 1/4*

http://placetobenation.com/this-week-in-wrestling-8716/ Fall 1 Pete and Johnny look at a great 6 man Loser leaves Houston for 60 days on nwaondemand.com. Connor McGregor works the WWE locker room except the king of working an audience. They look at the ROH TV where Jay Lethal gets his head shaved. The guys discuss if they missed an opportunity with not using Mark Briscoe's hair in the angle also. Fall 2 Pete and Timothy talk the CWF Mid-Atlantic weekly tv show. Then it's more G-1 from night 7 to night 12. What workers and matches stand out to them. Fall 3 Pete and Johnny talk the Booker-T episode of Legends. They break down the current episode of NXT. Then they check out what they liked about in the CWC. The guys look at Raw and Smackdown. What show did they like better? The guys look at the bread crumbs that are leading to the Ziggler potential heel turn. 00:00:30 Fall 1 00:08:00 NWA Classics Hacksaw Duggan, Junkyard Dog, and Tito Santana v Butch Reed, Nikolai Volkoff, and Krusher Khruschev 00:21:44 ROH TV 00:43:59 Fall 2 00:47:24 CWF Mid-Atlantic 00:49:50 G-1 Climax 2016 Day 4-12 02:17:21 Fall 3 02:17:40 JBL Show with Booker T 02:35:18 NXT 02:51:02 CWC 03:13:10 WWE RAW 03:38:00 WWE SD!

I can see where you're coming from. The arm work was so good, that it hurt the match for me a bit since in the end it was done to fill time and it didn't have consequences.

This is for the Universal title. This has a real big time feel to it. They have a hot crowd. My favorite part of the match was really the opening 10 minutes or so. Colon just destroys the arm. I mean this was textbook working the arm . My arm was hurting watching it. Flair sells it really well during the work, but drops it during his heat segment. It's your typical Flair segment so it's pretty darn good. He starts working over the neck to hurt his breathing. He starts mixing in chops with leg work, knee drops to the Figure 4. Eventually, we start working to the finish. This was well done. Their were a couple of hiccups in this, but overall this was an excellent match. 4 1/4*

You look at this match and you'd guess oh a Memphis match or maybe Kansas City. Nope It's Puerto Rico and it's your World Champ studio match. We've seen Flair have this type of match many times and he's very good at it. Both guys really hit hard here. I loved Gilbert fighting back when Flair was going for the Figure 4. 3*

I wouldn't be shocked if he showed up in NJPW. He easily could get over as a monster.

Man what a great way to kick off the set. I loved Colon working the ear to start. Problem though I was selling watching more than Abby. Though I give Abby some room to wiggle since for some reason I feel he's not human . I also really liked Colon's fire here. Now the crowd was insane and how they got closer and closer. A fight broke out in the crowd. Loved Abby's screams. A good double juice brawl. 3 1/2*

Thanks . Not yet but it's on my list to watch this week.

7/31/16 Supre Libre LA Park vs Rush 4 1/2* Another great match from these guys. It starts out with a tremendous brawl. I loved the beer tub as a weapon. My favorite weapon was Park using the 12 pk of beer. We get some dives. Some great heat and shine segments. Park's seling of his leg made me think he really fucked up his leg. Great match.

8/4/16 NJPW Sibata vs Kenny Omega 4 1/4* I really liked this. Omega worked this 100% serious. The 1st big moment was Omega going after the arm. Then he starts working the arm. This is really smart. He's taking out Shibata's striking weapons. Omega's stretch muffler was so awesome. I thought Shibata selling of the leg was good, and something we don't usually see from Shibata. I loved all the hope spots based around chokes. Then Omega going for the One Wing Angel that gets countered into a Fujiwara was just brilliant.

JOSE LOTHARIO / BULL RAMOS and GRAN MARKUS face PROF. TANAKA / HITO and SAKURADA Holy crap this was awesome. I don't think their was one wrestling hold used. It was just a bunch of punches. I was really impressed with Bull Ramos here. The 1st fall we get an early shine with Lothario and Ramos just punching everyone in sight. I enjoyed how the heels went after Ramos arm. Which as we learned on commentary he's a former golden glove champ. So the heels are trying to take away his biggest weapon. Marcus gets in and the heels just swarm him with rabbit punches into the kidney's.. He fights them off and tags out to Ramos and he's just kicking ass and finishes off the heels with a running splash. Fall 2 and they just get heat on Marcus .He's fighting back showing great fire. Eventually they finish them off. Fall 3 and it's on. Just a wild out of control brawling.I really liked how the heels went back to working over Marcus' back. While all of this brawling was going on Lothario hits bombs away from the top rope for the win. Their were moments of slopiness, but man I enjoyed the pace, and it felt hate filled. 4 1/4*

On the Booker T interview by JBL he mentions he was so excited to do a contract signing angle because of his memories of Superstar Billy Graham turning the table on Jose Lohario in 78. I thought that was a neat bit.

Nese is 38 years old. He's had plenty of time to develop a character. Anthony Bennett, at 21, is already leaps and bounds ahead of Nese in that department. I'd question Nese's instincts here, not "The Kid Who Don't Play." We're going in circles here, so let's just agree to disagree on this. Anyway, my thoughts on this week's show: - Rich Swann vs. Jason Lee was underwhelming to me. Swann didn't impress me as much as I was hoping, but to be fair: 1. This was Swann's first match after a shoulder injury. 2. Swann has his character and mannerisms down pat. Awesome stuff. 3. I'm sure Lee was suffering from the dreaded jetlag. Seriously though, the commentators missed a major opportunity to go into Swann's anger when his facial expression turned because they were too busy droning on about Cena speaking Mandarin. Who gives a fuck? - Noam Dar vs. Gurv Shira was nothing special, and the wrong guy won - only because Dar is the first WWE wrestler ever born in Israel. Not sure why that matters but it was a major talking point and something they obviously see value in - for this round at least. My only hope is that they see more upside in The Bollywood Boys as a tag team and sign and push them that way. - Jack Gallagher vs. Fabian Aichner was great fun, and contrary to the silly comment that was posted earlier, I liked Aicher even though he had muscles growing out of muscles. In any other match, Aichner would have been the star. He's the perfect example of someone making the most out of this opportunity even in loss, which is something that not everyone in the tournament has done IMO. As for the winner, Gallagher was amazing. I love everything about the "Extraordinary Gentleman." His wrestling style, his look, his character, his mannerisms. No one else would be able to make those trunks, boots, and ridiculous little mustache work, but Jack Gallagher pulls it off. - Wow, wow, WOW at Johnny Gargano vs. Tomasso Ciampa. They showed that they're among the most seasoned wrestlers in the tournament with an incredible match that told a brilliant and brutal story. Easily the best match of the CWC thus far. I cannot say enough good things about it, and I hope both men's stocks have risen considerably because of it. To be fair to the rest of the field . Ciampa and Gargano have a ton of history together. So they had that built in advantage to have a good match. Not taking anything away from them. They had a good match. Though they got the most favored draw out of everyone.

I loved Harley vs El Halocon. Butch Reed vs Slater bounty match.

Funk-Lewin is a must, Gordy-Doc txdm, Lothario/Conway Jr vs Mr. Hito/Sakurada, the Tully/Mil brawl , Slater vs Reed Bounty Match, and tons of other stuff you need to see Goc.

This is the 2 ring 6 man tag match gimmick. At 1st this was hard to follow. Then we got the hard camera straight ahead. I really focused on the ring with Duggan/Sweetan vs Tito/Apollo. I got to say Sweetan and Duggan made a real effective team and worked over Tito really good. I felt those 3 really carried this to a fun match. They sort of ignored the one ring and let 2 guys go at it with a little cross over. The key ring was the blue one and they told a real effective story. 3*

This is a 6 man tag based on the 1/13/84 Texas Tornado Match. This is a loser leaves town for 60 days. I think it's the only people who leave are people who get pinned. We start of with a wild brawl. It settles down and the heat just simmers for a bit. We get some back and forth for a bit. The faces take control and work over the arm. It breaks down and Volkoff is the 1st to be eliminated. He's pissed and him and Tito have a hate filled brawl on the floor and Tito is counted out. Match is on and the hate is really hitting at a high. A lot of brawling and eventually JYD and Darsow are counted out. This leaves Duggan and Reed and we have one helluva a fight. Darsow comes out and screws Duggan . Reed is bleeding, Duggan's finish looks so impactful. Neidhardt is out for the save. his was really good storytelling, and booking. I loved the heat and action. 3 1/2*

7/16/16 Liga Elite La Park vs Rush 4 3/4* This is just an old school Lucha brawl. Brawling in and outside the ring. Bloody as hell and super heated. The weapon shots were not overdone. Just pitch perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_31g1QCwN0

October 31, 1986: TERRY TAYLOR / ICEMAN KING PARSONS vs. STING / RICK STEINER (with Eddie Gilbert)! At this point in time, Rick Steiner is way above Sting as a worker. They do a a real good job of hiding Sting here. It looks like Taylor's job is to coach these guys. I love Taylor coming out in a mask and the crowd pops when he takes it off. Gilbert sells the reveal big. I thought the shine was good solid stuff. I thought Rick Steiner looked agressive as hell. With real sniff strikes. He did a version of a Steiner Line that looked great. Sting would get his spots here and there. Here he looks like he almost breaks Taylor's ribs on a Stinger Splash. I loved the Eddie Gilbert involved finish. Taylor really was a ring general here. 2 1/2*
