  1. This was a real solid match. Both guys worked hard. I enjoyed the limb work. Boyd's forearms were really nasty. The match had a lot of energy to it. I liked how Boyd would disguise his cheating. I hated Kozak just using the chair in front of the ref. A real fun 2nd match on the card. 2 1/2*
  2. Childs honestly Lee never sparked for me in PWG and Evolve. It took CWF for him to wow me . It's rather funny since Evolve and PWG style is the more flashy.
  3. He seems like a complete worker in the CWF. He's had good moments in PWG, but to me their are a lot of times that style brings out the worst in Lee. While CWF style plays more to his strengths.
  4. I agree with u on both points. I thought Balor was so good he overcame Nak's shitty no sell when he transitioned to offense. Nak's selling underneath was good though .Plus Finn was on top for a good chunk so the no sells only happened a few times so it didn't kill the match for me, but if Nak had a few more minutes on top and no sold I would have been in the same range as you .
  5. I really enjoyed him as a character .
  6. 7/13/16 NXT Finn Balor vs Nakamura 4 1/2* This was one hell of a match and at the end could have been my best of the year, but Nak shitcanning the leg work when he'd be on offense hurt the bout. I loved Nak's smile then bam nails Finn with a knee. I was really impressed with Finn selling the neck throughout. The big move was Finn taking out Nak's leg and just going to town on it. Balor's work on the leg was really great. His work here was incredible and his best of the year. I can't put over how nasty the leg work was. Nak on defense did a great job with his vocal selling. Though when he transitioned to offense used a knee based attack that keeps the match out of being the best match of the year.

    NXT talk

Well the small things is what seperates this match from being a top 3 match to a top 10-20 match this year.

100% agree with this. Still a great match. If Nak committed to his selling I could have gone 5* on this. Finn sold his neck better than Nak did his leg.
  10. Lothario/Conway Jr vs Mr. Hito/Sakurada (1/11/80 Houston) Wow I really enjoyed this. I've always been a guy who prioritized story over athletic ability. Here these guys tell a great story. One of the things that I really appreciate about the service is being able to really discover guys or seeing guys you have heard about. In this match we have Lothario who has been a real revelation. Conway Jr has solidified himself as a really good baby face. Hito and Sakurada have been put over by Bret Hart so I was really excited to check them out. True to form they had great psychology. These guys went close to 30 minutes and it was so good. Pre match we have the Japan flag out. Conway has the U.S Flag and now it's really hot. The heels do the awesome Salt ceremony pre match. The match starts and Lothario establishes himself as a smart baby face by stomping Hito's foot which is shoeless. The heels immediately go after Lothario's arm. The heels tag in and out staying fresh focusing on the arm. We see a hot tag and Conway is in. He eventually gets cut off and is worked over. Eventually Lothario's in with some wicked punches, tags in Conway with a Thesz press from the top for 3. The 2nd fall is more great work . The heels establish dominance and put Lothario out with a double team move. The 3rd fall was more great heat and shine segments. Eventually this time though they wear down Conway Jr. with a couple of big double team moves and the finish that was a little climsy and supposed to be a slingshot into a chop. Final thoughts. I loved all the quick tags. The work was focused. Lothario's punches were wicked. Their was a real sense of struggle. The match had a big time feel to it. All four guys looked good. The story telling was top notch. 4*

  12. Steve Williams vs Buddy Landell This was fun. 1st off we got some shots and angles that we haven't seen from the footage before. Landell was great at stalling here. Williams basically midget tosses Landell in this. Buddy was great at putting over Doc's strength. This is a loaded card and it really has something for everyone. Doc is a force of nature. Landell is so good at generating heat. A look here, A look there. Him using the ref as a human shield was so well done. Fun match.

  14. No problem with him being on the card. Just felt 20 minutes was a lot of time to fill for his skill set. Think his shtick would've worked better in an 8 minute match.
  15. Reading between the lines, Parv regrets putting Martel over Steamer in his top 100
  16. I'm glad they put up the Race/Andre match up w/o commentary.
  17. http://placetobenation.com/this-week-in-wrestling-7-10-16/ Fall 1 Pete and Johnny look at NWA On Demands match of 9/12/80 of Les Thornton vs Don Diamond. Pete breaks down the match. Then we look at the Highspots gimmick of Developmentally Speaking with Brian Myers,Bull James,Matt Sydal , and Rob Naylor. Pete and Johnny talk about the shoot interview. Fall 2 Pete and Timothy talk about Lucha Underground's Ultima Dos Night 1. What they would have done differently, and why. Then they breakdown NJPW Kizuna Road show. Hear what they liked and didn't like. They close it out with Progress Ch 32. The guys talk what worked and what didn't. They analyze the booking of the show. Fall 3 Pete and Johnny mark out over the Cruiserweight Classic hype show. Find out who they want to win. Johnny's fantasy booking of Brian Kendrick. NXT puts on a killer show. Pete's grudge against Cheerleaders is examined. The guys talk some Brock and his UFC 200 win. Then close out and talk about Hulu's Raw. Hint, they love the addition of Enzo and Cass into a main angle. 00:04:50 Fall 1 00:28:32 Fall 2 02:03:42 Fall 3
  18. The Danielson comparison is a really good one.
  19. I thought a lot of the prelims were fun.
  20. I'm at a bar. Got here at 630 to get a table. It's standing room right now.
  21. Bulldog Brower vs El Halcon This went 20 minutes and it dragged. This was pretty boring. Even the crowd is yawning. The most interesting thing is Brower pretending to hear voices , and his facials. This was the epitome of sitting in a headlock.

  23. 6 man tag It was supposed to be originally going to be the Freebirds, but Hayes mom just died. So we got this match. It's a basic tag match with Rogers doing a good job as FIP. He made all of Angel Of Deaths offense look like it hurt. We get this hot tag. Fulton and Chavo try something that is totally botched. A solid tag though.

  25. Don Fargo vs Pepper Gomez Wow this was a lot of fun. Their might have been one bump in the whole match. Fargo's antics were so over the top it generated heat from the crowd. Loved how he attempted to work over Gomez's stomach to no avail. Watching Fargo was such a joy. He had me smiling the whole match.
