9/11/16 WWE Dean Ambrose vs AJ Styles 4 1/2* Man this was great. Styles was really good heeling it up. His forearms looked stiff as hell. Ambrose was great fighting underneath. Ambrose showed off how good at selling he is. Though he did shitcan the leg work down the stretch. I loved the ball shot to set up the Styles Clash. The ball shot really was great and played out in the angle leading into the show.

Lewin vs McGraw I liked this. Lewin is such a better babyface than heel in his work. This was just a fun brawl. I loved the angle with Gino. A fun little bout.

I doubt it, but they do release tapes . Just not quickly . They also don't have a VOD model.

9/9/16 VIP Dallas Zach Sabre Jr vs Sammy Guevara 4 1/4* I was at this match live. It was incredible. It was my 1st time ever to a VIP Dallas event and loved the show. I'm a huge ZSJ fan so that's why I went to the show. Sammy Guevara is a guy who is used a lot in Inspire Pro and has a huge upside and a ton of potential. I'm glad he's getting a chance to work some big names and hopefully will lead to other opportunities. In Inspire he's booked as a heel. In VIP I'm not sure. We start out with a stare down. Then a big slap exchange and it sets the tone of the match. ZSJ might be the bigger star, but Guervara isn't going to be in awe of him, or back down from a fight. They take it to the mat and this is very interesting. ZSJ is the maestro on the mat and when he takes Guervara down on the mat he struggles and fights for an escape. This happens a few times and Guevara battles him to a stalemate each time. ZSJ has gone after the leg and the arm. Eventually, though ZSJ mat game is too much for Guervara. ZSJ takes control of the match and begins to focus on the the arm. Still in this fight Guervara hits a big time dive to the outside. Guervara gets a nice comeback here. ZSJ realizing he's in for a fight starts to slowly play subtle heel much like his match with Cedric Alexander. His arm work and joint manipulation gets more vicious. Guevara on his part starts to sell the arm. This is so key for the story. Without it ZSJ is just doing cool stuff with no consequences. Throughout this Guevara is getting hope spots. He seems to be making a comeback only for ZSJ to go back to the arm and cut him off. With Guevara selling the arm. The big spot in the match is Guervara getting his arm kicked while holding the rope. Now Guervara is selling big. Again we get some hope spots and cutoffs. Guervara has explosiveness in his offense so his comebacks have fire to them on top of it Guervara avoids using his bad wing on his comebacks. In an awesome spot ZSJ catches Guervara coming off the top with a shooting Star only to be caught in a triangle. I lost my shit on this. We build to a hot finish and Guervara hits a 630 splash for the win. This was a great baby face performance with the selling and comebacks for Guervara. With the win Guervara came across as a big star, and even with the loss ZSJ wasn't hurt with the way the match was worked.. The crowd was super hot the whole time. What a great match.

9/8/16 CWF Mid Atlantic Trevor Lee vs John Skyler 4 1/4* What a title defense. He might be the best champion in wrestling. I'm loving Lee here starts on the arm. He moves to the leg. A really engrossing feeling out process. Commentators were great at getting the story across. The match fleshes out and Lee is just dissecting the arm. Skyler hits a big move and gets the heat. He's all over Lee's rib. The work on the ribs was really on point. I'm loving Skyler's focus. This is a total throwback to the classic World Title Matches in the 70's 80's 90's. The cross arm breaker spot had me going nuts. Skyler's spear through the ropes late was great, and part of the story. The finish was great with Lee's dbl stomp off the top rope to the arm, and then to the STF. Tremendous stuff from both guys.

No, it wasn't. Though the 1st fall worked really well.

I also think Dusty's style didn't fit in an area where the big stars through the years are Lothario, Wahoo McDaniel , and Johnny Valentine.
-
I think the case was Dusty was a special attraction and would just show up . He didn't really have an angle like Lewin had with Gino.
-
Dusty vs Gino I was looking forward to this. I was kind of expecting a Tully type of match. Then I realized the heat was on Gino and Lewin not Dusty. With that said I really enjoyed the 1st fall. It had a lot of energy. Some really fun spots. Loved the kick to Gino ass and he bumped to the top rope. The 2nd fall just went way too long. The fun wasn't there. The 3rd fall was just a finish. These guys do have a good 12 minute match in them.

Dusty vs Gino oh my!!!
-
I don't think they wanted a defenitive finish. I think they wanted a finish that could have gone either way. I thought both leaving with help worked in spades.

A movie based on Chris Benoit.
-
Yep. They have a final script ready to go.
-
Per Collider news a director has been named. It's the person who did Punisher War Zone. So the movie is a go.

I rewatched the Ole segment this morning and really short shrifted it. I thought it was a hell of a fight. Ole was incredible here.

I feel some of Duggan's matches with Buzz were around this level, maybe even slightly better.

[1983-10-23-GCW-Last Battle of Atlanta] Tommy Rich vs Buzz Sawyer
shoe replied to soup23's topic in October 1983
This is all about the hate. I love that we got KO counts also which added to the drama. Rich misses an elbow into the cage early. Buzz really goes after the arm with vigor. It was nice to see arm work pay off when Rich misses a fist drop. We see Rich with some comebacks and gets cut off quickly. Buzz busts him open and just savagely works that cut with punches, using the cage, nasty stomps, and or cheese grating Rich into the cage. Rich's selling along with Buzz's violence really made this. Again the comebacks and cut offs were so well timed. When Rich finally makes his comeback it truly is a glorious moment and well earned. That punch exchange while both were on their knees was truly an iconic moment and a clear postage stamp moment. While Sawyer's punches are violent, Rich's are big in nature. 4 1/2* Then we get Ole and Paul. This was solid, but couldn't possibly follow the previous match. Loved Jake post match. -
They're also using his daughter.

Timbo Slice is a poster. It's just conjecture on his part. It makes sense for Ellering to have a copy, just like Jim Nelson having a copy of Final Conflict.
-
Timbo thought Paul Ellering had it and used it as leverage to get a deal.
