I actually own a vintage Canucks Flying V jersey! It gets some pretty confused reactions when I go out wearing it here in Japan.
-
Interesting! The thread didn't disappear but some of the more recent posts did. just trying out a few things here. interesting!

I have genuinely wondered: Are Flair's trunks custom made or off the rack?
-
Since these posts will all be gone in the morning, who has some ridiculous nonsense to get off of their chest? For example: I preferred it when Bryan Danielson wore plain burgundy trunks, knee-pads, and boots. I think the flashy new burgundy, white, and black gear is too fancy-dan for his character. I would be OK with it, however, if he went with a claret-and-blue look, like soccer clubs Aston Villa and West Ham United wear/wore. I went with that colour combo for my Fire Pro edit of Billy Robinson because the Lancashire-based Burnley F.C.wears those colours. I have to say, it looks pretty sharp.

Martel in his current condition taking on Abdullah is like a horror film more than a wrestling match. The Fish vs Wild Pegasus could be a show-stealer. I am looking forward to seeing Goto and Saito in action. -
You are batting 11 for 11 here, in terms of matches I want to see.
-
I miss the playful banter from the commentators, but you did a good job getting all your points across in a quick write-up. Everything is building up to the 5th, nicely. We all get busy sometimes.

It's cool to see how the Nikita/Martel/Baba saga is unfolding in three different countries at once. Huge win for Borne, even if he had to cheat to get it. Will anyone be able to take the strap from Benoit?? -
As soon as Bullet Bob cracked that smile it was clear he was going to pick a good partner for the fight against Grizz and Bubba. You gave the crowd a great moment when that music hit.

I just went and squashed Hollywood Hogan with Vader in Fire Pro. Made me feel a bit better.
-
Genuinely sad news. A lot of people (very much including me) got a lot of enjoyment out of watching his matches. I got the sense, watching his 2016 WWE HoF induction speech for Stan Hansen, that Vader understood how much we, the fans, loved him.

If Wrestlers Were Cheeses, What Cheeses Would They Be (Really)
gordi replied to elliott's topic in Pro Wrestling Mostly
I have never tried it (nor have I ever tried Manchego), but just based on the name and description: https://www.cheese.com/good-thunder/ Enjoyed this thread so much! Great work. -
It's not so crazy for Iron Mike to ask for a tag team title shot. He held the Vancouver version of the NWA Canadian Tag Team belts twice in the late 1970s You know who else held those belts at one time? Tiger Jeet Singh!! And do you know who his championship partner was? None other than Dennis Stamp (who is best remembered these days as the guy who reffed the Terry Funk vs Bret Hart match in Beyond the Mat. I promise you, I am not making any of that up. If Billy Graham can't slam Bundy, who can? And: Another white-hot main event.

Viking Hall, you are up!

You'd think Bubba could have waited until he got backstage to pull the cash out of that envelope. So: Kevin pins Hayes but then Bam Bam pins Lance. Then Kevin pins Bam Bam and Kevin pins Hoss... But brother Terry then pins Kevin. Some nicely balanced storytelling in that Tourney. Also: You could do a lot worse than Terry Funk as your Texas Heavyweight Champion. Also: A guy rode a horse into the arena?

Wow! Japanese Men's Pro Wrestling, or Danshi Puroresu (ダンシプロレス)! We are in for a real treat, here

I forgot to mention: using the bounty money to build the War Games structure is great, too.

A lot of guys with injured arms in this project: Andre, Spivey, and now it looks like Backlund as well. Hell of a match. Dibiase is just the ideal heel champ right now. In fact, there are good heel performances in every match here tonight. Kirchner getting revenge on Kernodle is some pretty good story telling.
-
The conversation between Dibiase and Hayes is pure heel crowd work. Love it. The twist with the Midnight Rider is very creative booking. Also: I've had that song playing in my head for hours now.

Double Chain Match! Nice! As always, seeing Baba working as a face down south does my heart good. Armstrong's using the Russian Legsweep! Is he about to joint he KGB, too? (just kidding) Big win for “Bullet" Bob!!
-
David Sammartino offering to teach Billy f'n Robinson a wrestling lesson? Good Lord!! The arrogance of that kid! Bob Backlund offering to teach Brad Rheingans a wrestling lesson? OK, that makes some kind of sense. Superstar going for the 10 Gs! Right on! You are using Tiger Jeet Singh perfectly. Great job of building up to the Bash, culminating with Dibiase's attack on Duggan.

Yet another couple of variations of the Leo Burke vs. Brian Pillman finish. Pillman is getting a masterclass sin laying out matches here. Awesome stuff. Cactus is getting more and more violent in his matches with Sabu. Count me among the people lining up to steal that 2/3 falls 6-man idea!
-
lol at Studd not being able to squat as much as Atlas, and blaming it on the spotter. Such a heel move. It makes logical sense too, since a guy as tall as him might have leverage disadvantages in that movement. Nice job booking two big cads back-to-back with enough variation that fans will be dying to watch both, but just enough overlap that one can build to the other. . Curt vs Tully and Curt vs Valentine are two great 80s WWF-style TV matches. Bulldogs and Harts vs Demos and Russians should be a ton of fun.
-
Haku, Barbarian & Warlord vs Dr. Death, Reed, & Simmons could be one of the hardest-hitting 6-man tags of all time. Interesting stuff going on p and down this card. I think having Superstar play up to the kids in the crowd is a great way to use him at this stage. He still has charisma and an awesome look.

Huge win for Benoit, even given the circumstances. Thanks for building him up before sending him over here! Paul E takes one for the team.
