  1. In the same sense that cotton candy is "food" for the body, maybe.
  2. Invaders vs Pastores street fight! You've already got my money just with that. Owen pulling the wool over Bruce's eyes continues to be priceless. Your tag division is super hot right now. Castillo & Perez as the Caribbean Express should be a great addition to that scene.
  3. Man, that Memorial Day bash is shaping up to be one of the all time great pro wrestling cards. I am on tenterhooks for Martel vs Nikita.
  4. Great cards for the often-overlooked fans in the Pacific Northwest. I wish that the Seattle card had happened for real back then. I could have driven down with my friends and made a party of it. We would have marked out like crazy!
  5. Awesome. Thanks for the link!
  6. Justified! Love that show, too.
  7. Dang... people posting here have some pretty good taste in TV. Batman: TAS, MST3K, The Office, Fawlty Towers, Friday Night Lights... all great shows. I don't think there's been a bad choice posted yet. A couple of shows I haven't seen yet, to add to my list of things to watch some day.
  8. Nice list! Black Mirrors, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, and Sopranos were all close contenders for my top 10. Bob's Burgers and Legion, as well...
  9. What are your top 10 (non-wrestling) T.V. shows of all time? Game of Thrones Simpsons (1st 7 seasons or so) South Park The Wire Better Call Saul Fargo Bojack Horseman Cheers Archer Band of Brothers
  10. Yeah, sorry, that's where I meant to post it.
  11. Heads Into Jello (DR Ackermann wins the Triple Crown, plus gets a tip of the hat for using pm so as not to spoil it for anyone else). If I remember, I'll post the answers plus a new anagram every week or so... please feel free to post one as well if you'd like.
  12. Samurai Wham Suit Edit: DR Ackerman was first to solve this one, too
  13. Can you rearrange the letters in the following phrase to form the name of a famous pro wrestler? Think Larger Jewelery Edit: DR Ackermann was the first to solve this one (he sent the correct answer by pm)
  14. As I have written about elsewhere, back when I got married I received a time-travelling robot cat as a wedding present. I asked him what the WWE was going to look like several years down the line. He told me that the roster, in addition to the usual assortment of big, muscular, Vince-type guys (including Brock Lesnar and at least two others whom I would very much enjoy watching), would also include: AJ Styles, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, Prince Devitt, Kevin Steen, El Generico, Tyler Black, "Supernova" Shinsuke Nakamura, and Claudio Castagnoli, with almost all of them getting pushed to the upper mid card or higher... plus Mike Rotundo's, Mr. Perfect's. Carlos Colón's and Cowboy Bob's kids and members of the legendary Anoa'i family among the second-gen stars, and Kana wrestling in America with a huge push and along with Ric Flair's daughter being the centre of a women's division that is taken relatively seriously by the promotion, plus guys like Pac and KENTA in the 205-pound division... Well, of course I got excited. Then he told me that the booking would be so bad that there would be times when, even with that insanely loaded roster, I would read write-ups of shows and breathe a huge sigh of relief that I had opted to skip watching the PPV. In fact, he told me, there would be times when the booking was so bad that I wouldn't even be able to muster the enthusiasm to watch WWE matches for free on "streaming video services." Sadly, I had little trouble believing that. Even more sadly, he turned out to be 100 percent right.
  15. Wow! GREAT introduction for Sabu. I marked out when I scrolled down and saw that picture. He definitely seems like a guy who will fit right in to the Snake Pit vs Pipers Pit feud. I think that if you just threw out Rotundo & Spivey vs Gaylord, Payne, & Zenk w/Sullivan as a match with no background, I wouldn't much care... but with all this build and storytelling behind it, I am all in and can't wait to see what's next. I think that's what you might call good booking! Can-Ams vs Varsity Club has some story behing it as well now... Plus we get DeBeers vs Sarge, Adams vs Sheikh Adnan Al-Kaissie, and Douglas vs the Guerreros all in different stages of story development. Way to keep things interesting!
  16. Nice continuity there with Backlund still being tired after the Fujinami match. Tui's turn about is fair play spot was very well executed.
  17. Slight exaggeration, but don't worry I'm taking some time away from here now. I have shodate blocked but that doesn't help when you don't log in and still have to read him. It's far better for me to step away from this place altogether for a bit. Oh, and nice to see that JvK still manages to get in his digs at jdw even after running him off PWO. Take care guys and see you down the line (maybe?) I completely understand. If it weren't for the Armchair Booking stuff, I'd probably be taking a break from here, too.
  18. You do a nice job here of advancing and creating story-lines through in-ring action. The heels losing but then beating down the faces is a very effective way to keep things going. So is having the heels win by cheating or due to interference. I particularly like how you maybe set up for something between St. Clair and Singh just through their actions in and around the ring. The Bundy storyline continues to be one of my favourite things in this whole project.
  19. Whoa! Maximum stakes. Nice!
  20. Amazing job with that Horsemen interview segment. Really well done. Tonga Kid vs Bad News sounds like one of those TV matches that will still get discussed on our world's version of PWO, 32 years down the road.
  21. kevin, what does the winner of the 8 man tournament get? That 6-man tag in New Orleans should be hot. Grizzly Boone is an interesting choice to bring in as a monster. He had a nice run in All Japan in 1988, including some matches against John Tenta that I'd really like to see. I agree that the Jim Cornette promo was really good.
  22. Only Andre could fly out from Japan to Manitoba and then roll right over Lord Humongous
  23. Bar Room Brawlers is a better name for a good guy team than Devil's Duo, in my opinion. ...and then they go and live right up to that name. So you've got brawling good guys and, with The Cobra, a high-flying and athletic bad guy. I love it! Of course, with Mark Youngblood, Hot Property, Jimmy Snuka, and so on you have your share of athletic babyfaces as well. Caspian Empire vs Tui & Sakalia continues to be an entertaining feud. I like how you use the managers in this promotion. It gives a real 80s feel, and it's something I miss about current pro wrestling. I love a good Mystery Partner angle. Duggan will need to pick a good one, to counter Stan Hansen! That Memorial Day card looks great.

  25. Excellent main event on Challenge. Tough to pick the WWF TV tag match of the week this week. Great Hogan promo. I could easily hear that in his voice.
