  1. I appreciate the Japan reference! Also, I'm happy to hear that the good people of Chetwynd are getting a show. I love the Peace River Country, I think it is one of the most beautiful regions in the world. Also: Moolah and Richter going almost an hour!!! You never short-change your fans.
  2. If they would add Ziggler and Corbin to that match (instead of the 6 pack shit at the top) I am sure that the first few rows of fans would end up inside the Schwarzschild radius. Best laugh I've had this week. Nice one. Yeah... reminds me why I pretty much only tune in during Rumble-Mania season these days. Do they - does anyone - think that kind of nonsense ADDS to the appeal of their show in any way?
  3. Hopefully that's setting up Hot Property vs The Steiners
  4. That's a well-booked and entertaining card, with just a dash of WWF-style spice in the Texas-and-Mid-South mix. You definitely did a good job of sending the crowd home happy.
  5. Never mind the Main Event, that opening match would have burned the house down.
  6. That was a perfectly booked tournament. Great job! The fans will still be leaving with a sour taste in their mouths with three new heel champs... But of course having the good guys chase those belts will be sweet.
  7. It looks like Pat Tanaka is getting more of a push here than he ever received in real life, and I am happy about that. I really like the balance of big hoss type wrestlers, technical wrestlers, and classic heels on your roster, and the way you lay out your cards so everyone has the opportunity to shine.

  9. Love this match. I have seen better Baba matches but I can't remember ever seeing a better Kiniski match. I grew up in Vancouver and Kiniski was the big star of my local wrestling show as a kid. He was great on the stick even then, at the end of his career. I am glad that this match exists as proof of his greatness. Like you say, this match is a masterclass in nuance. It's all about the little things.
  10. What can you say about a show that STARTS with a Cactus Jack vs Buzz Sawyer Dog Collar match? Of course I loved The Youngbloods promoting "Youngblood." I imagine the Nastys asking, "Wanna go, pretty boy?"

  15. There are already threads for stuff like 5-star matches and favourite wrestlers. You don't need to start up personal threads for common topics like this.
  16. Spivey over Bock and Larry Z over Martel are shockers, for sure. Love Big Leon and Scorp as the new Cobra Corps.
  17. I caught a cold. Often when I am sick I'll kill time by watching an episode of MST3K on youtube. Today, I watched "It Conquered the World." At the end, Peter Graves has a long and over-serious speech, and I'm thinking, "I've heard that somewhere before..." Then they play it again (and again) at the end of the show. "He learned almost too late that man is a feeling creature. And because of it the greatest in the universe. He learned too late for himself that men have to find their own way, to make their own mistakes. There can't be any gift of perfection from outside themselves..." My head almost exploded when I made the connection.
  18. Big upset win for Kamala! Dr. D and Bad News aren't finished with each other yet. And that twist with Embry just playing dumb is absolutely brilliant. Well played!
  19. I keep reminding myself that we got the Shinsuke and Asuka wins at The Rumble. The Endless Failed Push of Roman is just never going to stop. It's too bad that his matches always go on last because it sure leaves a bad taste at the end of the company's biggest events. Rest of the card, and a whole lot of what we've been given since The Rumble has really been good. They blew it with Roman by giving him that tired It-worked-with-Austin anti-authority gimmick when Roman is clearly a Company Man. Similar story with Cena. Now they are clearly going to make the same mistake with Rowdy Ronda. Nothing we can do about that. Just try to enjoy everything else on the Road to WrestleMania as much a possible, I guess. Good generally outweighs the bad recently. It's just that the bad stuff gets most of the time, care, and attention and also the top spot on the biggest cards.
  20. I'm hoping the crowd heats up when Braun comes in.
  21. I hear you. I'm reminding myself that the booking at Royal Rumble and since then has been really good. I can't let Roman winning here spoil that for me.
  22. What a great idea! Take a wrestler with great potential and talent, whom the company is obviously 100 per cent behind, then set them up in opposition to the company in an anti-authoritarian role. That always works. It did wonders for John Cena and Roman Reigns and in no way torpedoed their chances of truly getting over as baby-faces with the entire crowd.
  23. I was worried that, after the tag match and Asuka vs Jax both ended kind of abruptly, Hardy vs Wyatt would go long with finisher overkill... but they didn't go there. Pleasantly surprised by this show so far. Asuka vs Jax was a very good match of the Size and Power vs Grit and Toughness type. Enjoyed that tremendously.
  24. That was, like, two thirds of a pretty good tag match. I enjoyed The Bar cutting off the ring and the hot tag was well done. The ending felt too abrupt, though. I'm actually excited for Asuka vs Jax.
