  1. I like Corbin and am one of the people who was praising his improvement back in NXT. His main roster run has been hit and miss for sure, but like a couple people in this thread pointed out, it's not exactly his fault. He was called up early and has been start and stop pushed. He wins the Andre match and then they do zero with him for months. He wins MITB and they do zero with him for months. I blame WWE "creative" and not so much Corbin. When given something to sink his teeth into he's good. I loved his Takeover match with Joe, and the Kalisto matches. I think him and Cena will probably have a damn good match as well
  2. This sucks. Hope he pulls through
  3. Probably because Kurt has minimal contact considering Jarrett has adopted and raised him? Kody was 2 when they got divorced
  4. For fuck's sake. Keep that stuff private, will you ? You didn't even click the link did you? They didn't tweet, it's a gif from after the match and people reading their lips
  5. Haven't posted here in a while (and haven't been watching current WWE in a while either) but I had to tune in to see Cena-Nakamura. Really fun match, but damn that reverse exploder head drop.......scary moment. Was wondering where this leaves Cena for SS.....but Corbin makes sense. Also....I LOVED that Gable-Rusev match. Gable is awesome. The girls tag was fun too. Really good ep of SD
  6. I think WWE has had lots of great angles/programs in the last decade+, the problem is with so much TV overexposure and all the PPVs it does tend to all blend together, and be bogged down. I remember really liking the Cena-Orton program a decade or so in the past, with the I Quit match and Last Man Standing and everything, but off the top of my head I couldn't tell you what year it actually happened because they went to that well so many times. I really like the Cena-Batista program when Dave was on his way out (think it was 09? maybe 10?) but again, it all gets a bit muddied in my mind IMO the Jericho-Michaels feud is probably the best of the last decade, I can remember it pretty much beat by beat, from the Flair retirement to the ladder match......but those were two masters who were allowed to basically script their whole program without "creative" interfering. Most guys today don't have carte blanche like that
  7. To speak on Reigns a bit since his name was brought up, and it sort of ties into Orton being on WWE TV and heavily pushed for 15 years........ I like Roman quite a bit, I think he always delivers in his big matches, but the reason he's so polarizing in some ways dates to when the crowd wanted D-Bry to be "the guy" and his push has just never recovered from that fan backlash. And fans now have a memory and are "smart" and on the net, so even though I like the guy I totally get when he gets the reactions he gets. The audience felt like they were being ignored and disrespected and that he was the chosen guy being pushed down their gullet And so I totally get why a lot of people are sick of Orton, Big Show, Kane.....all these guys who've been on top for years. But they're all good/great performers who are reliable and have managed to stay over for a long time. And without the territories........the reality is these guys will become stale because they're in the same promotion in top spots, on tv every week. I think all 3 of them fall into the same category......and all 3 have taken time off TV and done lots of heel/face switches to change character/freshen up.......but without anywhere else to go what can they really do? Some guys do go the indy/Japan route, but can you really blame guys for not doing it when they're firmly established in WWE and making top money?
  8. I'm a bit biased (look at the av) but I think he's had a great career. I definitely think due to being on TV and in main event PPV matches for so long there's been staleness at times, and he doesn't always seem 1000% motivated all the time......but he's reinvented himself so many times and is always over.......so I can't say he's had a "lackluster" career at all.....and he's had a ton of great matches and angles over the years Funny enough though, when I saw the thread title Lex Luger was the first name I thought of. And I like Luger as well
  9. RIP Rosey that's a bummer. I didn't realize he was that old, but I guess it's been a long time now since he debuted in the WWE. Makes me feel old
  10. I like the new shredded/gassed/whatever Jinder, and I like guys working "snug" or "stiff" or whatever.......the problem is if you're going to work like that you need to be good at it.......and Jinder just isn't a good worker. There's a way to work stiff and make it look stiff and still protect your opponent. Jinder doesn't seem skilled/coordinated enough to do that style. He blasted Balor, and I'd forgotten about Roman til someone here mentioned it but that was another one. I remember when he was teaming with Rusev he was just killing dudes with potatoes......and Rusev is a good example of a guy who works snug and hard and physical but doesn't kill his opponent.
  11. "We Want Sasha" chants was because they were in Boston. They were all excited for Charlotte and the Tamina swerve kind of killed the heat which led to the chants. I thought it was clever (saw it coming tho) but not the best thing to do if you want a big pop On Alpha, they showed a lot of personality in backstage skits in NXT, they just haven't had the chance to do it at all since getting called up. Also agree that the injury angle right after they debuted stalled them out of the gate and they haven't really recovered. Bottom line though is that they've kind of just been thrown out there and fans haven't been given a reason to care aside from them being a great in-ring team. In NXT they were built up organically and showed personality. I think they'll be fine in the long run. Heck, it wasn't that long ago that fans in the arenas and online were turning on the Usos, now a little character change and everyone loves them again. They just need to give people who didn't necessarily follow NXT during their rise a reason to care. It's not that hard.
  12. Yeah, other than Miz/Maryse and Bliss I won't really miss anyone who moved. I don't hate Wyatt the way some people do, but I can do without the cheesy supernatural stuff and the Orton feud has definitely run it's course. Ambrose is totally hit and miss these days and seems to be going through the motions half the time. I like Slater but he's so low on the card it doesn't really matter. With Nakamura and who it looks like SD is getting (Owens, New Day, Charlotte, Sami) they'll be more than ok

    Wrestlemania

My WM story is my internet blows chunks and WWE Network sucks so it was an evening of repeated pausing and buffering which really ruined it for me. That combined with the length of the show (and having been awake since 5am) caused me to quit and go to bed. I woke up at like 3am and went back to watch the Lesnar-Goldburg match. I really liked that match. Also caught Orton and Wyutt and liked that too, but I've seen a lot of hate on it. I would not have taken the belt off of Wyatt, but I thought the match itself was entertaining, and you know they will rematch. I actually enjoyed the Pittbull & friends performance too, and I am not a Pitbull fan I actually really liked this show but again refer to my initial statement, it ruined it for me. I need to watch it in full, some of the booking was strange. Huge Jericho mark, him losing was the right call. I liked Mojo winning and Gronk getting in there. Leading off the show with AJ and Shane was a surprise but made it seem special. I might post more thoughts but I need a beer

    WWE TV 3/27 - 4/2

I'm sure he'll be involved in Seth-Hunter. And I wouldn't be surprised if that's where Balor returns to even the odds He won't be in the Battle Royale because that's there for Braun to destroy everyone, eliminate Big Show, and likely toss out Sami last based on the build.

    WWE TV 3/6-3/12

Braun's been pushed as more of an intelligent monster who picks his spots than a mindless out of control brute. It's what makes his character great IMO. It wasn't inconsistent to give Taker a respect nod and if and when Braun wants him it will be on his terms And let's not forget the last time Taker and Braun clashed (Survivor Series 2015?) it didn't go so well for Braun
  16. I didn't see the whole segment but I'm sure Cena said he was wrestling the WWE champion AJ Styles and the host was like "who's that" and he said "some guy from Atlanta" tying into the NE-ATL super bowl and they cut the clip for the angle
  17. Piper/Valentine for me easily. I was a fan of both guys from the WWF but never saw that match until the early 90's......was blown away by it......and it still holds up Vader/Sting strap match is awesome too, and I wouldn't blame anyone for picking Eddie/JBL which was a sick bloodbath Ivan Koloff had lots of fun Russian Chain Matches but they all kinda blend together with me Austin and Savio had a fun strap match in 96 I'm sure I'm forgetting more
  18. Yea, it was inevitable Angle would be in eventually, but based on 2K putting Sting and Goldberg on the cover I thought Angle would be a video game surprise first I still think he's going to do a match or two and wouldn't be shocked to see him as a Rumble surprise
  19. Thought that was a really strong go home show and agreed, this is a really good looking Rumble card with a lot of star power Thought the angle with Rollins was strong but really surprised he's not in the Rumble. Him and Sami had a fun, intrigue filled match there too. Now I'm expecting HHH as a surprise entrant and Rollins running in to take him out of the match
  20. I'm a big Cesaro fan going back well over a decade now, but his best work in WWE and really over the years has been as a tag team wrestler. Him and Hero were great back in the day. Real Americans were great. Him and Kidd were awesome. I really like him and Sheamus as a team. I think he's a great tag team guy who's best doing that with an occasional singles push here and there, and there's nothing wrong with being in that spot
  21. They Lex Luger'd Rollins when he came back from the knee injury and first night back heeled on the fans. Really bad booking when it was so obvious he'd be cheered upon his return. Then they realized the screwup and switched him face quick, but it was too little too late and he's been lukewarm ever since Rollins and HHH doesn't feel like a hot match at all, and it doesn't help that HHH is never on TV but when he is he's a babyface authority figure with NXT and Network stuff. So Rollins is the baby in this match and HHH is the heel? I don't think it'd get that reaction from the WM crowd
  22. Taker-Cena is really the big money match that they need to do before it's too late
  23. Heck, maybe Austin could induct Kurt. They had a great run together in 01 and you know WWE wants to get Austin involved at WM every year, so that would make sense
  24. I could maybe see Brisco or Patterson inducting Kurt. It wouldn't be my pick but I could see HBK do it too Off-topic......Radiohead was a huge band in the late 90's into the mid 2000's. Maybe it's my age (35) but to me at their peak they were much bigger than Motorhead. I saw them live in 2001-2002 where they legit filled a 70 thousand plus venue. Don't think Motorhead ever did that, and I'm a fan of both bands so this isn't a potshot
  25. I guess Ottman and IRS make sense with their Florida ties and being friendly with the company, but not the most exciting choices. The Natural Disasters were memorable but didn't have much of a run, and the rest of Ottman's career......well. Would be one of the weakest inductees yet Why not Kevin Sullivan representing Florida? Because of the Benoit/Nancy stuff? What about Wahoo McDaniel? Christian and Regal seem like no brainers Lemmy is as deserving a celebrity as anyone. They put Snoop Dogg in last year!
