  1. Also found amusing that they aired this one from Japan. They had a much better match at Main Event a few months later.
  2. Now if we could find a work around for the old school. Not sure if this works on Roku (as the above tip didn't work on Apple TV) but on Apple if you know who's wrestling on the Old School shows you can access the full show via the search function. I.e. I searched for Mr. Perfect and found the 1990 MSG show with Warrior vs Perfect that was posted today. I find it amazing that they have such shitty software. At this point maybe 50% of the Old School shows aren't accessible on Apple TV. This isn't a footage bandwith problem like it was during the first week, as the shows are clearly there and accessible through back doors.
  3. He comes off as being ridiculously narrow minded and out of touch.

  5. Bolding the part I want to remark here. That's one of the key things that makes Austin so good at what he does. He realises that it's not about him, but about the guest. He's got his own solo shows to ramble about his projects, shit that happens to him on the road, etc.
  6. Didn't Shawn lose that rep with his post-comeback stuff? Not saying that I disagree with you, but I thought the Shawn Show reference was mostly directed to his 90s bumping.
  7. Your winner is Genichiro Tenryu, Ashura Hara & Ultimo Dragon vs. Jim Duggan, Jerry Estrada & Kamala from WAR's older sister SWS. Duggan, Estrada and Kamala get top marks for randomness. The native team makes sense in that one though. Here you've got 6 foreign wrestlers in Japan for starters. The Eliminators and Garza were practically unknowns in Japan and had nothing to do with each other. On the other side 3 randomly assigned legends. Fair enough. Even weirder considering Garza back then was as white meat babyface as it gets. How about this one? Bob Backlund, El Solitario & Gran Hamada vs El Canek, Eric Embry & Babe Face
  8. Ross is great as a once or twice a year guest for Meltzer or Austin but that's about it. He's far too passive agressive and jaded to make it work as an interviewer. Also, as others have mentioned, I was surprised about it but he doesn't ask enough interesting questions. I always find it really funny/odd when guys like him or Michael Hayes talk shit about Vince or Vince's ideas by blaming other people and never directly mention him, but have no qualms in shitting all over Bischoff or Heyman or Russo. It must suck living life being scared of the old man. Piper also has a podcast but I'm not even bothering with that one. PodcastOne is overexposing the genre at this point. Austin twice a week and the occasional Jericho episode is enough for me.
  9. Your winner is Genichiro Tenryu, Ashura Hara & Ultimo Dragon vs. Jim Duggan, Jerry Estrada & Kamala from WAR's older sister SWS.
  10. Konnan told the story once about how after that angle he was backstage and apparently Stacey needed stitches. He then goes to see Carlos, who he assumes is going to be pissed off at him for scarring his pretty model daughter, but instaed he's got an ear to ear grin and tells him something like "that was money! what a great angle!", seemingly not worrying too much about his daughter's cut.
  11. Hey don't laugh at Dave. There's a gentleman at work whose last name is Royce and I have to think before saying his name so I don't pronounce it like a Brazilian.
  12. I may have done a subsconscious boycott as well. I have 6-7 Cornette shows I have not listened to from the main feed and I don't think that I will catch up.
  13. That's a very good question and I don't know the answer. Anyone? Here's what WWE may do do to make sure WM is not a bust. Start cancelling accounts of non US users. Mine has not been cancelled (yet?) but I read the facebook feeds of two different guys in the UK who have had them cancelled overnight. Both are pretty hardcore guys who may be watching several hours a day every day so that could be a criteria that they use. That also means they either are fairly confident on the number of US only subscribers or that they aren't confident on their stream working.
  14. Is it just me or it's really hard to get through the 1982 episodes of World Class? Maybe I have watched the wrong ones. Hard to digest most of the stuff but I'm a fan of Kerry (except when he's talking) and The Checkmate from The Isle of Man. I'm really looking forward to any other 80s (or before) episodic TV being put on the network. Watching Old School shows isn't the same. Right now 1993 RAW is what I'm enjoying the most. The episodes are easy to watch (even with Rob Barlett on commentary) and you get decent matches from time to time.
  15. If you happen to have an Ipad just stream from there to your TV through Apple TV. That's what I do whenever there's a show missing on Apple TV.
  16. Dave Meltzer has mentioned several times: in the end ECW was profitable but it was Vince who made all the money.
  17. From this week's Observer "In one of those only in WWE deals, and this dates back a little while, but the ring announcers have been told to announce Del Rio’s home town as San Luis, Mexico. There is actually no city of that name. He is from San Luis Potosi and for whatever reason, they aren’t into the idea of a three word city."
  18. Muto was sometimes featured in women's pro wrestling magazines when he was doing the Space Flying Wolf gimmick. I have a couple of them where he's in photoshoots with the Crush Gals and with somebody else I can't remember now. You'd rarely see any male wrestlers featured in those magazines other than maybe Tiger Mask or Mil Mascaras.
  19. This footage is tremendous. And who is the little fella wrestling him at the end? He's awesome. Also incredible how quickly he goes from handsome young man at age 20 to scary looking monster in 5 years.
  20. Sometimes she carried one of those old 80s laptops that look like a giant calculator. I saw her definitely carrying a proper laptop a few times too because I recently saw a clip of hers with it and the first thing that I thought about is "damn that laptop looks like shit". A few days later I went to my new work assignment and they gave me an old Thinkpad that was exactly like hers. Weird how some companies operate. I have a 250 dollar executive style chair but the work laptop they gave me is this giant block that is almost a decade old and has been used by six different people before it was given to me.
  21. You'd think so but the proper laptops she'd sometimes carry were pretty expensive two decades ago.
  22. Not sure what could you do to make Hunter's nose flattering. But, yeah, Steph looks terrible here. Hunter actually looks much better in a suit now than before. When he had long hair and was bigger he looked ridiculous, like a gorilla in an expensive suit.
  23. I imagine at some point they will get the PM/Martinez footage probably cheap. You'd think we'd have already seen all the IWA there is but in Japan they released a Thesz/Mascaras tag match whose TV episode I have never seen.
  24. I remember back in 1990 we'd get Superstars with our own commentators but we'd often have backstage interviews handled by Miguelito Alonzo and sometimes Pedro Morales so pretty sure it goes at least that far back. Hugo and Carlos probably started back in 1993 or 1994 and sometimes Eurosport or some odd channel would buy WWF rights for a few months and use the SAP feed. I'm sure that there's enough WCW in Spanish too as Pedro and Miguel did Nitro for years.
  25. So Dave has pretty much confirmed that the new library acquired is the WWC library. WWC need cash to survive and WWE have very little content in Spanish that would help them expand in Spanish speaking countries. Now that being said can't see how would that be of of help when trying to push the network in a place like Mexico, Chile or Spain where there's no nostalgia value for anything other than WWE and that's already available in Spanish. For those interested I guess it's time to download the entire WWC collections from youtube before they are taken down.
