The misogynist guy he was in WWE before he left for WCW was the low point of the Attitude Era for me.

I don't think they even show the truncated version on USA now, last year they just had it on the WM DVD. -

This is going to be a big coup for their PR if they milk this the right way. Bruno's comments on the Wellness Program particularly. -

That's a no-brainer. Reading the article, it makes the most sense. Unless they can attract someone like Zbyszko or Graham to do it, Paul seems the obvious choice. And frankly, he kind of deserves that much for essentially making this happen. -

Here's the ESPN article. -
Scott going after Flair like he did on Nitro put me off him forever. His match with HHH at the Royal Rumble during his WWE run was like watching a sweaty train wreck. Dude was a better tag team guy.

For what it's worth, having Warrior in red, white and blue makeup really felt against character. -

It makes sense to me. Bischoff offering himself up for the powerbomb to make people look away from him. Taking one for the team.- 13 replies

Weird that Brian appeared at this one alone, Sags (Heenan: It's Sags of The Nasty Boys!) in '92, and both of them in '93 even though they're never in the ring at the same time.

I'd like to think the money in Bad News' hand is because Ted paid him extra to actually stick with the match. In Survivor Series matches previous to this one, he would storm out and be counted out eventually. With the continuity they had on angles then, I'd believe they would go with that.

Well, the punishment was it's own reward to Martel and Valentine that year. Any Rumble they participated in after, it would usually be mentioned how well they did that year.

[1991-02-16-WWF-Superstars] Tag Team Battle Royal

I never liked that stipulation. I understood it when they did the matches with the tag teams at the first Survivor Series', the matches would have lasted 90 minutes a piece otherwise.- 10 replies

It's amazing how much he slimmed down from when he started to when he was damn near catching up with Hennig in their WrestleMania match. Has anyone seen the squash match he was in against Tully Blanchard that impressed Dusty so much that he gave him the Big Bubba gimmick and the rest is history?

Flair, in his shoot interview and I'm guessing his book, said that he was dealing with anxiety and depression issues around this time, so it'd be no surprise that he'll have a lot of off-nights in this yearbook until he's up north.

In one of the Observer threads here, it said that the company was originally going to have Randy have a feud with Ted in '91 instead of Jake but Randy nixed it. That would have been a pretty good top-level feud for him before Money Inc.

I also believed it when Cena said he was going to go into his match with Rock as WWE champ.

Yeah, but Punk's streak against "the" streak is a great idea. I hope that's what happens. I'm predicting Rock/Brock for WM, with Brock interfering in tomorrow's match.

I didn't realize people moved that quickly from WWF to WCW back then. I'm guessing Dusty (Dustin too, maybe) didn't even leave Florida between the Rumble and then.

Was Marty injured? I noticed the tape on his ribs, and that neither Gorilla or Hillbilly Jim mentioned it. More impressive if you consider the airtime he gets in this one.- 38 replies
