  1. This might have been Jake at his best as a face in WWF. I love it when Jake tells the story about this match in shoot interviews and such, saying that he had people come up to him, saying that they were screaming at their televisions, telling him which way to go.
  2. So a Pink Floyd song (a cover, albeit. But not just any one, probably my favorite) is used in a commercial of a WWE product. Weird.
  3. The wisest move they could have made under the circumstances.
  4. Punk/Brock is what I'd like to see.
  5. I agree. I think they should look at Netflix, and the moves they are making, especially in regards to original content. Use that as a platform to launch this.
  6. I may be partly to blame for this: Pornstar Kendra Lust denies having an affair with WWE star John Cena I'm kind of surprised the site quotes my post. I picked it up from another site, and unsure of the source.
  7. Who is it that comes in behind Piper? There was some dude in a white shirt following him out.
  8. I always thought if he had stayed alive (promise this is the only time I'll bring it up), he would have had a great run with Eddie. Not just matches, but a good on-camera rivalry that WWE could still produce then.
  9. So what's new on this?
  10. With Rhodes and Flair, you can definitely see that those archetypes were tailor-made for the Southern blue collar audience which was the majority of their following. Which is to say that maybe the people putting on that product were more in tune with what was going on in that part of the country that a major network would have nary an idea about in comparison.
  11. Bruno wants Zbyszko to induct him.
  12. He stopped wearing them in WCW, though. In the ring at least.
  13. Texas booger sugar.
  14. So what's the latest on this? EDIT: I'll be damned, this is the latest.
  15. Any bit of mainstream exposure at all costs is their motto I would imagine, Pete. I think this whole special is an extra feature on one of Phil's live DVD's (yes I am a fan, though more of a Genesis guy).
  16. I mean the last 27 months specifically.
  17. It was so odd seeing him work face when he was in WCW. I'd gotten so use to "The Model" gimmick, I didn't realize at the time that that may have been the only time in his career he was working heel. Is there a reason he was out for much of '91? He's not on much TV and no PPV at all between WM 7 and Royal Rumble '92.
  18. I was thinking someone could make a comp (if they haven't already) of the best matches from this period.
  19. Bossman was in 6 months before Hogan and challenging for a title on Starrcade. I don't mean to off-track this, but WCW had been wooing Hogan for most of '93. It's been said many times it was one of Bischoff's first objectives once he took over. By the time Traylor had come back, it was close to becoming a foregone conclusion that Hulk was eventually going to sign. On a personal note, I kind of saw it coming once I saw this.
  20. All the better if part of this is Bruno playing them. If that's the case, he deserves every cent of that million bucks he'll get out of this. Even if it wasn't, there is still some justice in them paying him off like this.
  21. Doing the job is probably why they had him originally win the King of the Ring that Austin won (and the rest is history...)
