  1. I think it would be hard to make a list of 100 wrestlers who aren’t shitty people. It’s wrestling. A list of wrestling’s greatest pals would be pretty uninteresting and pointless
  2. I thought the entire point of this was ringwork
  3. Why would Lawler have a tough time? Honestly the crossfitting of pro-wrestling over the last 5 years makes me appreciate Lawler more not less.
  4. That Bentley match is really good, we reviewed it here https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/12/slim-j-is-brain-dead-like-jim-brady.html
  5. He is a big mover for me, now we have seen the 2006 Anarchy War Games match which is one of the great babyface War Games performance ever, plus the YARD CALL and Dog Collar matches with Corey Hollis, he comes off like one of the great brawlers of the 2000s, along with the Fred Yehi series which showed off his technical wrestling, and I can't imagine him not making my list.
  6. He has to be one of the most guys helped by more footage showing up. We got Last Battle of Atlanta, a great JYD match, Babyface Buzz vs. DiBiase, Buzz and Bret versus the Roadies. Feels like a guy who we always knew was awesome, and we got the footage to back it up.
  7. I don't think the French footage explosion has helped Cesca particularly, with more of a context, he seems like more of solid hand, then a transcendent standout. Weirdly we haven't come across very many new Cesca matches, but now that we see more of other guys he doesn't stand out as much. I might find a place for him on the list, but he won't be the top rated Catcheur.
  8. Guys lets be nicer to Jerry, we don't want to be the subject of his Substack essay on cancel culture in pro-wrestling fandom. I can see him pitching it to Bari Weiss as we speak.
  9. If I do this, I am going to have 6-10 French Catch guys in the mix, feels like people should watch this stuff because we have plenty of newly discovered great wrestlers who are absolutely peers to guys like Flair, Kobashi, Santo etc
  10. What do you guys think the floor for available matches is? We have guys in the French footage who seem clearly to be among the best wrestlers ever, but we only have two or three matches. Feels like a list without Tony Oliver or Modesto Aledo doesn't make sense, but can we judge someone on so little footage?
  11. I almost got into multiple fist fights with Hulk Hogan fans at that show.
  12. It's only one match but Fujiwara vs. Kawada was terrible and both of those guys were all time greats
  13. I mean Muraco just sucked, he was a cool character, but I still haven't seen a great performance in the ring.

  15. I think watching some Modesto Aledo might get you out of your funk too.
  16. Cm'on guy you know the Attitude era, famous for the Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Undertaker, HHH and Christian, you know the big 5.
  17. No chance of either sniffing my list, so I am good
  18. Does anyone know Danielson's contract situation? I think he checks all of the boxes

  20. It is all amazing stuff, and tremendously varied. I'll give you a starter pack http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2020/02/tuesday-is-french-catch-day-tony-oliver.html Tony Oliver vs. Bert Royal 2/27/57 Put a gun to my head and make me pick, I think this is the best match we have watched, Oliver looks like an all time great (we have two matches total unfortunately) just a miserable prick of guy to wrestle and Royal is a dynamic babyface Modesto Aledo vs. Teddy Boy http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2020/07/tuesday-is-french-catch-day-leduc.html Aledo is a slick maestro in the mold of Blue Panther or Fujiwara and he tools Teddy Boy early until Teddy Boy unloads with some super violent stuff, ends up almost like an All Japan match Le Petit Prince/Francis Louis vs. Jacky Richard/Daniel Noced 2/22/71 http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2020/07/tuesday-is-french-catch-day-robin-royal.html Basically a 1995 Michinoku Pro tag in 1971. Prince is like Rey Mysterios grandfather, and the rudos are great bases. Ends up with some real violence too These are three of the best matches, but the week to week quality of this stuff is off the charts.
  21. That hurts my feelings, we have loathed each other for years, least you could do is read my blog
  22. Just a clarification on this, we post links to youtube for every single French match we review. So if you have youtube you can watch the French Catch
  23. Miss Texas was fucking awesome in Memphis too, she is legitimately an all time great
  24. DC for years (we are in Denver area now), I am from the Bay Area originally which is how I went to the KOI, timed it with a visit home. Don't think I ever went to an ECW show (might have gone to one in DC, but can't remember for sure). Went to a bunch of OMEGA shows in North Carolina in addition to Northwest Indies. I wrote up on top that my top five are some order are Santo vs. Park in Atlanta Corino vs. Homicide Callihan vs. Finlay Hashimoto vs. Corino vs. Steele vs. Knight Rey Jr. vs. Low-Ki I am sure I am forgetting some of the ROH shows, I also tend to mix together shows I was at, and shows I saw on tape. I think I was live for Aries vs. Samoa Joe where he won the title, but I am not positive.
  25. I was at all of the Ki vs. Dragon matches live for a while, both ECWA matches, the Shamrock match and even the King of the Indies APW match
