  1. I rewatched the Corino barbed wire match for my Ringer article, and it was an incredible Homicide performance, he is one of the best guys at really portraying unhinged insanity in a ring. Put him in with Corino or Teddy Hart he feels like he would be thrilled to see them dead. Workrate Homicide I can take or leave, but guy jabbing a fork in Corino's ear, that is a guy
  2. Don't usually shill my Ringer stuff over here, but in addition to my normal column, I dropped 5500 word piece on the greatest barbed wire matches of all time https://www.theringer.com/2022/7/20/23271495/best-barbed-wire-pro-wrestling-matches

  4. He is having a hell of final run in his late 50s in the Triplemania AAA mask tournament, two absolute blood soaked wars, one with LA Park and one with Psycho Clown, and still has a mask match against Pentagon coming up. No one punches better then old luchadores and he is like Juan Manuel Marquez these days. Wrote up both matches for the Ringer and I imagine the mascara contra mascara will make the cut too https://www.theringer.com/2022/5/2/23053456/randy-orton-serena-deeb-hiraku-shida-la-park-villano-best-matches https://www.theringer.com/2022/6/20/23175922/roman-reigns-riddle-dax-harwood-will-ospreay-villano-iv-psycho-clown-aaa-triplemania-best-matches
  5. Necro Butcher vs. Low-Ki from JAPW floated up on the internet the other day and it is on the level of the other two 2007 Ki vs. Necro match, just an awesome asstomping Here is our SC review http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2022/06/found-footage-friday-ki-necro-lawler.html
  6. He is someone who's stock is helped by his Indy return, he was always good in limited opportunities in the WWE, but he is back in main events. The Moxley and Slade matches are highlights with both being super gory and hard hitting, I also really dug his match with Alec Price which was sort of a torch passing to a new Boston indy star. He feels like a guy primed to go on a big run and move on to people's list
  7. He has been on a hellacious run since returning from rehab, the Danielson match was a career match for sure, and he has been having great matches both in AEW and seemingly every week on the indies. He has added some Regalish touches to his ring work since the Blackpool Combat Club, and leading a blood renaissance. I thought the Deppen match last weekend was an under the radar banger, and the Busick and Tom Lawlor matches were killer bloodbaths.
  8. Ok I am a dummy
  9. Since we were talking about Necro's SHLAK match hurting him, just an FYI that he is back, recovered from cancer and basically looking like Necro Butcher again. He had two pretty rad deathmatches in XPW, I wrote up the Hoodfoot match for the Ringer, the Big Joe match was two minutes long, but a fun two minutes. His other two matches against Blaine Evans and Travis Dykes were normal brawls which Necro looked good but his opponents were pretty low rate, both are on youtube and fun watches https://www.theringer.com/2022/4/11/23019761/bron-breakker-gunther-jon-moxley-wheeler-yuta-necro-butcher-hoodfoot-best-matches
  10. Jon Moxley Considering some guys who have nomination threads, pretty crazy he isn't at least nominated. Wasn't a particularly big fan of his in the WWE, but he does have those Shield matches which were the best stuff in the world when they were happening. Is clearly in his prime now, and has been on a hellacious run. since returning from rehab, both in AEW and on the Indies, where he is seemingly having blood soaked classics weekly. vs. Regal 10/13/11 Shield vs. Wyatt Family 2/23/14 Shield vs. Wyatt Family 3/3/14 vs. Danielson 3/6/22 vs. Busick 3/31/22 vs. Lawlor 4/3/22 Anarchy in the Arena 5/29
  11. What ridiculous punishment did he take in the Darby match? All the big spots in that match were by Darby
  12. It wasn't that great, Ishii is pretty one note, Kingston deserves better
  13. I would be shocked if we don't get a Punk vs. Joe match at some point.

  15. The New Japan shows in the US are almost AEW vs. NJ shows already, the DC show has Mox vs. Tanahasi, Ishii vs. Kingston and Brody King vs. Suzuki as it's three main matches.
  16. Punk called out like 20 people on Twitter for a match, Penta was the least interesting of them.
  17. It's a fine main event for a show which started at like 1am Eastern.
  18. New Way of the Blade pod with Filthy Tom Lawlor talking Murakami vs. Nagata https://redcircle.com/shows/be34c05b-8483-4797-af55-5ec4bd254611/episodes/8f46ada9-d436-484d-80c9-827fd5307973
  19. New Ringer article!! https://www.theringer.com/2022/3/7/22965285/jon-moxley-bryan-danielson-ilja-dragunov-nathan-frazer-ac-mack-masha-slamovich-best-matches

  21. New Way of the Blade pod with TV writer Owen Ellickson talking Sgt. Slaughter vs. Iron Sheik, easily one of the funniest pods I have done. https://redcircle.com/shows/be34c05b-8483-4797-af55-5ec4bd254611/episodes/c47c7fc5-6a29-4642-933b-9137a17e59a8
  22. Week 3 for The Ringer https://www.theringer.com/2022/2/21/22943900/sammy-guevara-darby-allin-sami-zayn-shinsuke-nakamura-tom-lawlor-matt-makowski-best-matches
  23. Obviously a guy who had his US career derailed by immigration issues, and his style isn't really my thing, but for a guy who does that kind of highspot heavy style, he is damn good at it, and seems to be a guy who is getting a bunch of opportunities now that he has his Visa. I wrote up his ACH match for the Ringer last week and for car crash wrestling it was about as good as it gets. https://www.theringer.com/2022/2/14/22933102/hangman-page-lance-archer-creed-brothers-grizzled-young-veterans-speedball-bailey-ach-best-matches
  24. Yeah I did, it was really awesome, I liked Psycho Clown vs. Gringo Loco a tiny bit more, but Slade vs. Busick would make a list in a different week for sure
  25. New Ringer piece!! https://www.theringer.com/2022/2/14/22933102/hangman-page-lance-archer-creed-brothers-grizzled-young-veterans-speedball-bailey-ach-best-matches
