I have seen LA Park live twice in the last couple of months at local Denver Lucha show, he comes off as a huge star in that local show atmosphere, just so awesome to watch him do his random house show match with ref shtick and belt shots. He has the huge main event matches, but also is amazing in a small room

Danielson really broke out at the Super 8 and King of the Indies. He won a BOLA too

In preparation for Final Battle I wrote up some of the greatest Dog Collar matches of all time for The Ringer https://www.theringer.com/2022/12/10/23502948/best-dog-collar-matches-in-pro-wrestling-history -

I am going to be a regular part of the new Ringer Wrestling show feed. Here I am on the Masked Man Monday https://www.theringer.com/2022/11/28/23482738/sami-zayn-backs-the-bloodline-at-wargames -
To be fair, worrying about someone shooting on you doesn't imply that they could beat you in a fight, if one person is cooperating, and the other person is looking to hurt their opponent, there are plenty of ways you can fuck someone up without being tougher.

I think the story of the initial WON HOF class was just Meltzer and John D. Williams BSing on a flight to Japan. I didn't sense they put a ton of thought into it, outside of one guy saying how about Cornette, and the other guy saying "sounds good"

He has already shown that he can work good main event matches with good opponents. His matches with JD McDonough, Gunther and Trevor Lee were all great and as good or better then a lot of the Roman title defense. I wouldn't want to have him carrying anyone, but giving him the title and solid hands to defend it against would work good. I would just bring him in with the Creeds as sort of a Varsity Squad to feud with the Bloodline. Would be way more interesting then Cody's tired bullshit.

BTW I wrote this for the Ringer https://www.theringer.com/2022/9/5/23338456/cm-punk-aew-all-out-2022-media-scrum-young-bucks-adam-page-explainer My first top of the site piece

Agreed, you do everything you can to defuse the situation before you start firing anyone.

Who doesn't think Eddie Kingston is a good wrestler?

I really got to go full Segunda Caida/DVDVR for this Ringer article. Zona 23, Fujiwara, Dundee, Black Terry, Gypsy Joe https://www.theringer.com/2022/8/17/23308791/best-wrestling-matches-wrestlers-over-60?utm_campaign=theringer&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter -
Is anyone rating Brody but not rating Necro at this point? I really can't think of a single thing Brody did that was better. Including have a brawl with Abdullah

I watched Necro vs. Gypsy Joe from IWA-EC for an upcoming Ringer piece, and it is another feather in Necro's cap. An awesome carry job, where he bumps all over the arena to make a 72 year man look like a killer. Joe has an aura that he brings to a match, but was still 72. One of the better "wrestle a broom" matches you are going to see

We have a lot of Terry on tape, not much from his early career, but a shit ton from his awesome old man run, there are guys who are going to make a list with short amounts of footage, but I have reviewed 60+ Terry matches and there are plenty I haven't seen http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2010/06/complete-and-accurate-black-terry.html

I don't think Tony gets enough credit for that. The WWE does things like have Allison Danger move her entire family cross country, take her kid out of school, and then just fire her weeks later. If you sign a contract with AEW you are employed for the length of that contract, unless you do something which gets you fired for cause. Janella and Stunt didn't get their contracts renewed, which is something that happens in every business and is way different then waves of arbitrary firings

Kingston won their first singles match and they are 1 and 1 in big multiman match, so it isn't like Jericho is just taking this feud. I would have had Kingston win and end the feud, but they clearly have one more match they want to run. If Jericho wins that, I get the complaints, but they are clearly not finished with these two against each other.

I reviewed his awesome barbed wire match with Danny Havoc for the Ringer. Great Gulak performance as a guy using his technical skill to taunt the crowd and avoid the barbed wire, and then a willingness to dive in and get cut up when Havoc finally gets him
-
I rewatched the Corino barbed wire match for my Ringer article, and it was an incredible Homicide performance, he is one of the best guys at really portraying unhinged insanity in a ring. Put him in with Corino or Teddy Hart he feels like he would be thrilled to see them dead. Workrate Homicide I can take or leave, but guy jabbing a fork in Corino's ear, that is a guy

Don't usually shill my Ringer stuff over here, but in addition to my normal column, I dropped 5500 word piece on the greatest barbed wire matches of all time https://www.theringer.com/2022/7/20/23271495/best-barbed-wire-pro-wrestling-matches -

He is having a hell of final run in his late 50s in the Triplemania AAA mask tournament, two absolute blood soaked wars, one with LA Park and one with Psycho Clown, and still has a mask match against Pentagon coming up. No one punches better then old luchadores and he is like Juan Manuel Marquez these days. Wrote up both matches for the Ringer and I imagine the mascara contra mascara will make the cut too https://www.theringer.com/2022/5/2/23053456/randy-orton-serena-deeb-hiraku-shida-la-park-villano-best-matches https://www.theringer.com/2022/6/20/23175922/roman-reigns-riddle-dax-harwood-will-ospreay-villano-iv-psycho-clown-aaa-triplemania-best-matches

Necro Butcher vs. Low-Ki from JAPW floated up on the internet the other day and it is on the level of the other two 2007 Ki vs. Necro match, just an awesome asstomping Here is our SC review http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2022/06/found-footage-friday-ki-necro-lawler.html

He is someone who's stock is helped by his Indy return, he was always good in limited opportunities in the WWE, but he is back in main events. The Moxley and Slade matches are highlights with both being super gory and hard hitting, I also really dug his match with Alec Price which was sort of a torch passing to a new Boston indy star. He feels like a guy primed to go on a big run and move on to people's list

He has been on a hellacious run since returning from rehab, the Danielson match was a career match for sure, and he has been having great matches both in AEW and seemingly every week on the indies. He has added some Regalish touches to his ring work since the Blackpool Combat Club, and leading a blood renaissance. I thought the Deppen match last weekend was an under the radar banger, and the Busick and Tom Lawlor matches were killer bloodbaths.
