Also WCW would have been profitable from the start, if Turner had been paying for the programming. That did not start til Bischoff.

It was strange how they tried to sweep the heel Dust run under the rug. The only thing with Terri being a heel is that her and Dustin had a kid together. But at the same time that was true when Dustin was running around in diapers. The PMS stuff is hilarious, because of how often Val had to stay in position to get ambushed by a slow moving woman in high heels. The last one he watched her walk to the ring, then turned around, so he could be hit in the balls.. Also he never seems angry about it afterward. Best thing is this is clearly Russo doing female empowerment. Which means the men are idiots and the women conniving cowards. Val dumped Terri because he had a vasectomy years before, so Terri had to have cheated. Ross sold it like it was sad for the baby, but Terri made her bed. I just watched this stuff on demand. Only reason I remember the angles.

The Val Venis vs Dustin Runnels/Goldust feud is the perfect exemple of how nonsensical everything was back then, with a complete ignorance on how to define a heel and a face that people are supposed to care for. Russo said it best in his "Guest Booker" interview : "Heel or face ? I don't care, as long as I get ratings." The Val Venis character as a whole was really embarrassing. I think from a basic story perspective there was nothing wrong with it. Everyone had proper motivation. As a morality tale it is very strange. The Breakdown match is very good. With Dustin trying to fight clean and Val kicking his ass at every turn. The weird part is how the audience has no idea who to cheer. They go from cheering Dustin back to Val then back to Dustin. Once Dustin realizes he will have to revert to Goldust to win, the fans start cheering him and Val stays in the same nebulous territory.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3

I remember this Flintstones episode where a doctor had to call a plumber and the plumber showed up driving a nicer car and better clothes than the doctor. -
I think he has a codependent personality. That was how he came across in his book and shoot interview.

Isn't she the one who assaulted Flair?

What if Sting turns instead of Hogan? No way in hell it would have worked as well. I'm not saying it wouldn't have worked and it would have been a huge shock. But Hogan turning had an impact unlike anything in modern wrestling history and I say that without a hint of hyperbole. The important thing is people had wanted to hate Hogan for two years at that point. Also Hogan would have made them all look like shit.

I think Sting had a really good 95 myself. I really enjoyed the feuds with Quake, Bubba and Meng and the big feud with Flair.

Savage and Piper were over, but they were also WWF guys. Sting was the face of WCW for its entire existence.

I think Sting was a big part of the nWo getting over. I don't think it would have did as well as it did, without an established hero like Sting railing against them and rallying the troops. He is also the only guy TNA who did not lose his aura in TNA. Foley, Flair, RVD and even Hogan lost what made them special in TNA. Sting became stronger. Neither of these things are Hall of Fame worthy, but it is impressive. Nothing says you have to post at all. Either go all in or don't. But what you are pulling is some weak shit.
-
That is some weak shit right there.

They're awesome, already in the Hall Of Victator.

There is a good chance Sting would not have been as big a star if Magnum had been able to keep wrestling. Or at the very least he would have been delayed a few years. He only got his initial run with Flair because Micheal Hayes quit.

Cole has been great since Jerry Lawler had a heart attack and he was allowed to be a straight forward play by play guy.

I was a big backer of Varsity Club 2.0 much to the annoyance of my friends. I'm guessing their feud with the Harris brothers doesn't hold up. I lost my shit for the Varsity Club comeback. Best thing was Kevin Sullivan no selling Asya and knocking the piss out of her.

Piper mentioned it on a Nitro episode.

Explains the mess they are in now. As was said, they can't fire Cameron, because they have let too many men get away with it. You do not go from fighting Big Show evenly to jobbing to Heath Slater, without something going on.
-
I think he is being punished because of Cameron getting the DUI. They can't fire her yet, so they push Brodus down the card. This is the first PPV he has been on in months.

You know when I look at Benoit, I can't believe I was shocked to learn he was an insane killer. I can't imagine anybody being surprised this guy was a child molester.

It is like Jim Neidhart said, football is for sissies.

I am not terrible at math and poor grammar still annoys me. Not to the point where I will point it out on a message board, more of a quiet seethe to myself, but still. You're probably not great at math. People need to accept most grammar is busy work horse shit. For starters, Their, There and They're, one of you has to go.
-
Grammar is a way for people who suck at math to sound smart.

Sure I am. I declared it, therefor it is.

Because pro wrestling is king of sports.

How do they begin to change? When others consciously or unconsciously begin to undermine the rules.
