  1. That is who I thought it would be. He had a history with Taker and had motivation to hate Vince and Austin.
  2. Oh, man I can only imagine. I was not pleased in front of my TV screen either. "Everything comes down to logic." Vince Russo in Guest Booker Well that actually was a fairly logical reveal. It stayed true to Vince's character. But sometimes logic is not enough.
  3. If the Connecticut Democratic Party is responsible for the Youtube Massacre, they should go fuck themselves.
  4. Which has been pointed out is comprised of unqualified people.
  5. I think Linda being completely unqualified cost her two senate campaigns. Not some 12 year old youtube video of a lady being stripped to her undergarments. Also PTC admitted they lied about WWE programming on their website, after the lawsuit. So legally Russo is absolved of blame. Not many people I will side with Russo against, but the fucking Brent Bozzzzel is one.
  6. I interviewed Mikey Whipwreck tonight. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/the-v-spot-fe...mikey-whipwreck
  7. Austin and Foley were already on their way well before Russo had any power. Foley was given two consecutive wins over Undertaker, in a time when that was very rare. Really I would not expect Russo to ever get a turn around. The WWF run can be appreciated, but WCW is really bad. Maybe kids who started with TNA.
  8. Matt Hardy mentioned that match. That management lost faith in Gangrel because he choked on the mic.
  9. Yeah, he knew how dangerous it was. So he wanted to do it the other way. Seems like a strange spot to do on a card with Taker in the main event.
  10. That is what I would have thought. But word always was, they did not like his attitude about dropping the Euro belt to Bulldog.
  11. I still mostly like the TV from that period. I thought the main event booking was strong. There are some things I don't care for, but I think the good outweighs the bad. The first huge crack (as main events go) is Shane McMahon's first big promo. Nobody gave a shit about Shane, but being near Vince and Austin gave the illusion people cared about the McMahon family. Fast forward to late 99 and you can see the beginnings of the things that are now major problems in WWE today. Like D'Lo Brown's push being abandoned after being pushed for six months. Which is just flushing money away. I don't mean in money to be made. But money wasted in pushing someone and never using them. Its not noticeable in 99, since they had so many over acts. Its when you follow that line of thinking to today.
  12. I thought the TV remained good in the buildup to and aftermath of the Title Tourney. Early 99 is when cracks started appearing in the booking. The Mark Henry/Chyna/transvestite stuff being a big one. There is nothing wrong with Crash TV, most wrestling is Crash TV on some level. The thing is if it is done well. Done in a way you want to keep following it.
  13. His real downfall is when he decided he was too great a genius to be a part of a team. That his vision had to be unfiltered. If he was just a guy giving suggestions, he might be worth keeping around. He is a guy who cannot even properly explain his storylines. Like on the old WOL show, someone asked him about Juvi giving Tequila as a gift and if he thought that was racist. He stumbles over himself saying that Juvi was trying to impress the Powers That Be. Which did not answer the question or make sense. I almost think he meant that Juvi was playing upon the Powers on prejudices towards Mexicans. But I don't think he is that smart.
  14. seriously why does anyone still think this, how many years of terrible product does he have to be responsible for before the "Russo has redeeming qualities" meme dies he is the complete opposite of "has some good ideas of how to write episodic tv" Oh I was just surprised the late 99 stuff was not as bad as 2000. He really has no idea about basic story structure or basic character development. He seemed clueless on how to format a wrestling show. He had something like three long promo segments before the first match. He still has no idea why belts are important to the show, or why they should be respected in universe.
  15. Why would it be different?
  16. In theory this is true, but I'm not sure I believe it. It's not that hard to build someone again if you actually want to. Hell I thought he was being built up fine in early 99. When he was doing handicap matches briefly. Though it still seemed like a way to stick it to Jim Ross, than get Doc over. Which again is crap, that a guy like Doc has to be treated as a charity case.
  17. Its wrestling, Doc press slams and backdrop drivers guys and that is that.
  18. Only one time on Heat. And a guy like Doc should not have to do shit like that to get work. He still had gas in the tank at that point and he could have produced a quality feud with Goldberg. Doc said he called JR and asked him if it was okay. JR told him to do what he needed to do.
  19. Do they really think Austin needed back up? It was such an ugly thing to do. Making fun of someones bells palsy is so low. Did they get in trouble for that? I remember reading they did, but I'm not sure.
  20. I was watching some of the first Russo WCW run and was surprised it was not completely awful. It had some really bad parts, but it had some good. The shows had a lot more energy. Which was I think the roster being fully reinvigorated with a new guy in charge. More of the roster was being fully utilized. Well except those Mexicans. But the bad was really bad. The Oklahoma stuff made me lose respect for everyone involved. I don't really know the point of attacking Jim Ross. A guy who was universally loved and respected. I do think Ferrerra was a good performer and if they had modified the character, he could have been a good manager. They could have built up a Doctor Death/Goldberg feud. But instead they waste money burying Jim Ross. The concept of WCW being some sort of Running Man wrestling promotion desperate for ratings is not a bad concept. But Russo lacks the intelligence or talent to ever get that across.
  21. Its not just attitude era, WWE has been on a take down rampage. Including accounts that showed only old 80s NWA and Mid South. I can't be too mad about it. Unlike WB and Sony, WWE actually puts a lot of content out there, between their website, Youtube, 24/7 and Netflix. They are not IP hoarding.
  22. So her big idea was to take from people who have nothing?
  23. Even fucked up, Matt is better than anyone on the ROH roster. More over too.
  24. Kofi botches kicks, so I have my doubts he can do a suplex.
