  1. Nash needs to stick to looking menacing and power bombing dudes. I think this goes back to when he won the WWF title in 94. The more Nash talks the less appealing he is.
  2. Cena's promo at the end of the night showed how you give him a harder edge without turning him heel. Some people seem to Cena has to be cardboard cutout to stay popular with kids. I remember seeing one or two kids cheering Steve Austin back in the day.
  3. Security protecting Punk from Nash looked ridiculous. Turned out it was Punk who brought up shooty bullshit. Its a good thing Punk has been winning lately. Otherwise his current gimmick would make him look like a wimpy coward.
  4. I don't see how it was poor writing. The finish set up a new heel champion with multiple quality challengers.
  5. I'm really curious how any rational mind could construe what happened last night as Punk being buried. He pinned John Cena or at the very least fought him to a stalemate. Was ambushed by a giant and power bombed after a long hard fought match. Then was pinned by a fresh Alberto Del Rio. If Punk pinned Steve Austin, The Rock, Hulk Hogan and the ghost of Andre the Giant cleanly, I think someone would say Andre got too much offense.
  6. The current method of giving him multiple World titles, PPV main events and wins over John Cena doesn't seem to be working. Since 2006 people have been trying to create this narrative of Little Orphan Punk fighting the cruel, heartless WWE machine, and every year it sounds more ridiculous.
  7. I find it amazing some people still try to act like Punk is some poor mid carder being buried. Since he got to WWE in 2006 he has been one of the most protected wrestlers on the roster. Even during the supposed period in 07 he was being buried he rarely lost on TV. Punk is more protected than Kane or Big Show. They went to extra trouble tonight to make sure he did not lose the title cleanly. Going beyond the out of having wrestled a full match with John Cena. They have him get power bombed by a giant before having Del Rio cash in his title shot. And actually bringing in Waltman would be a great idea. If anything it would greatly improve the Raw mid card. It almost sounds like they have multiple quality opponents for their new heel champion.
  8. Tony is sadistic. He told me his favorite TBS studio memory was a jobber trying to shoot on Ole Anderson and Ole fucking him up.
  9. I agree, I thought this was really good booking. A lot more possibilities now than the shooty bullshit direction they were heading in. Nobody came out of the match looking weak and they have a full blown heel finally that is not Punk or Cena.
  10. At the moment I'm assuming Nash is working for Del Rio independently. It would be funny if HHH and Punk were in cahoots only for Del Rio to ruin it.
  11. I think he is Del Rio's new bodyguard.
  12. This was some impressive non committal booking.
  13. If I had a belt I would wear it everywhere.
  14. There was a WCW back then. Acting like TNA or ROH are in the same universe is science fiction. Makes it more humiliating when guys leave now.
  15. The bigger point of the tourney is it was suppose to be a bad idea. That Vince jumped the gun on crowning a new champion.
  16. Thought you meant in a hypothetical scenario.
  17. Yes, or he loses the title via forfeit. Which realistically is how this should have ended. If Vince was still in charge, I think that would be his position. But since HHH did not cancel the tourney and decided Punk still has a valid claim that the title is disputed. On TV HHH said that Rey had already won the belt when Punk showed at the arena. Though really the title should be vacant.
  18. To give a true example of nonsensical booking from the laptop GM. The laptop says anyone who saves the legends from Nexus would be fired. There is no storyline way to explain why this ruling was made. Since they still have not revealed the Identity. Why there were no repercussions for making this decision. Somehow a laptop had full autonomy. The only thing it accomplished was making the Raw locker room look like cowards. That is nonsensical.
  19. What did he think would happen if he left with the belt and did not defend it? Leaving the promotion equals vacating the title. Except it did. Punk left the promotion with the championship. Promotion needs championship, so they scheduled a tourney. Makes perfect sense. It would of made less sense to go on TV and advertise that the WWE champion left with the belt.
  20. How is that not vacating the title? In a Kayfabe sense the only thing Vince did wrong was not wait thirty days or at least a week. It never made sense or logic to it. It was something the writers came up with to be lazy.
  21. He was the only thing that made the week after the Benoit murders/suicide tolerable. Not saying that to be cute. Seeing his title changed to Fairweather Fan genuinely made me laugh. Later that week he got really pissed about the movie Knocked Up. Someone asked if something had happened to put him in a bad mood.
  22. Did he? Sunday: Punk wins Title. Monday: Punk does various stunts with Title (baseball game? Frig?) Monday Evening: Vince strips Punk of title Monday Evening: Vince puts on Tourney I don't think there is any account of Punk vacating the title before Vince's decision to hold a tourney. If he wanted to vacate it, he wouldn't have taken off with it... not put it in his frig... or kept carrying it around until he came back. In fact, when he came back he was claiming to be the champ. The general storyline was that Vince said Punk wasn't the champ anymore since Vince has the power to do it (his company after all), and decide to create a new house champ. In the storyline, Punk never stopped claiming he was the champ, and clearly is claiming to be champ heading into SummerSlam. So there is WWE storyline "logic" for the tourney, but not due to it being vacated. I think people's problems with the tourney is that it was just a dumbass storyline to do from start to finish to epilogue. Russo can explain the "logic" behind some of his storyline decisions. Doesn't mean that the decision/choice wasn't a bad one. John For weeks Punk said if he won he was leaving. He did not sign a new contract and left thru the crowd with the belt. Vince considering it vacated is perfectly logical. Vince not waiting at least a week to hold a tourney is the reason he was ousted. You need to watch some TNA or the shit where the laptop was given full authority to see a wrestling angle not make sense.
  23. Holding a tournament for the belt was a logical decision. By all accounts Punk vacated the title. It annoyed me more there was not one comment from Christian that he was the only World Champion WWE needed. This angle turned Smackdown into ECW.
  24. If he does it he does it. But I don't think its likely. He's been protected since he got there.
  25. Fucking Shad Gasspard refused to job on TV and was not fired for about a year. I'm pretty sure Punk has enough leverage to not be jobbed out.
