It fit in the context of the whole Punk deal being all shooty and inside referential. Nothing at all odd about mentioning workrate and heel persona when you have Punk call out Johnny Ace for firing people over the phone and mentioning SHOOTNAMES~!. If he would have just mentioned it out of the blue then it would have been Russoific. Also it helped that Cena is 100% right when he said he will never win that crowd over. No I mean it veered too closely to "This is not real". I can explain it in a kayfabe context but any more and it will be too far. If this goes past Summerslam I guarantee they mention TNA by name. That is one of the last safe shoots they can do.

I think he got legit flustered and that was all he had. But I think that it shook him and Punk up while making the audience uncomfortable. Which helped the angle overall I think.

With the recent string of releases it seems like it is time to finally put the Divas on hiatus. The matches are rarely good, they don't sell merchandise and ratings go down during their segments. Is there a good reason to keep them around?

I will never understand the logic behind the finite amount of over. If they are cheering some guy over Cena or booing who cares? They're the ones buying the tickets.

They carefully booked it so Cena would be cheered more. Punk was super over at the start of the night. Then Triple H slightly deflated him. Then you have Johnny Ace come out and get heel heat. Making a point to needle JR. Cena comes out and drops the Sesame Cena shit and threatens to punch Ace's teeth in. Then Punk finally makes his appearance.

That is why I wonder about his life before wrestling. Not that he was a raving lunatic but maybe there were signs and the concussions and drugs created a perfect storm. But the only people who know for sure are his parents and understandably they would not want to go into it.

Nash thought somebody had shot Benoit because he could not imagine anybody taking him with a knife.
