  1. The truth is less self serving, but I find more interesting. I do get Conrad used "entertainment" as code for lying.
  2. I don't either, why my picks were things heavily booked by post WWF Russo. Who came closer to killing my fandom than anyone.
  3. No I meant why can't the show be entertaining and factually accurate?
  4. Well see I don't agree with Jerry about that last part. Brother Love was around for three years and was a big part of the TV, with big angles getting started during those segments. So Jerry is doing what Bruce was. I think Russo giving everyone some sort of story was a detriment. Everyone doesn't need a story or gimmick, in particular if its a crappy gimmick and hurts a guys long term prospects. A guy like Shawn Stasiak (just as an example) had a good look and was a decent enough worker. A gimmick like "Meat" was only going to hurt him. He would be better off working the B shows with no gimmick than being seen with a gimmick like that. Finally, is there a reason facts and entertainment cannot co exist?
  5. When is the WXO streaming service starting?
  6. My problem with that feud is the blow off was so hum drum. It just ends with Show choke slamming Bossman in a mid card match. Rather than doing a bloody smoke and mirrors brawl. But they used that for Vince vs Hunter that night. Dude defiled Show's Dad's corpse and Show pinned him in a mid card wrestling match.
  7. Unless one of his other partners gets mad. Conrad is screwed without Prichard.
  8. I know someone.
  9. This talking point still lingering is weird. 911 was super over in ECW. Sid is the richest man's 911.
  10. Bischoff was careful to use seriously as a qualifier. Bischoff knows his bullshit.
  11. I just wish he had cooled it with the fucking thumb tacks. He just killed that gimmick and everyone talked to him about it. But everybody liked him so much as a person they could not tell him no. James Mitchell said he talked til he was blue in the face. He said if he were in charge he would have threatened to fire him if he used them unprompted. I really enjoyed the feud he had with Kongo Kong in TNA.
  12. It has this feel of a death match. Which I think comes from the things that went wrong. If it had went according to plan, it would had been an unmemorable bland affair. I love Abyss in general. I followed him from his Prince Justice days and he has a good heart. The Joseph Park stuff was a favorite.
  13. I disagree on Lex, Lex was great as the upstart Horseman. When the Horsemen turned heel, I thought Dean was very good. But I do love Mongo as a character and he also helped in those bleacher clearing brawls with the nWo, The closest thing I have to shame over liking something is the Abyss/Sting feud in TNA. Also the Jarrett/Sting match in WCW where Sting is attacked by clones. The moment one drags him under, then emerges beat up followed by the real Sting is great.
  14. I won't bother with any app that can't even lays its ads out right. That is really basic shit.
  15. Bobo Brazil vs Giant Baba
  16. Look up the rematch they had in 96 on Worldwide. It actually plays on the 92 match. I watched Quake vs Haku and overall I enjoyed it. I can't think of a Quake match I hate. Haku the performer is very underrated. He could be a good heel or babyface depending on the situation. Random thought but why did WCW not call him John "Quake" Tenta? WWF can't own calling a guy a natural disaster. WCW could have signed Earthquake Ferris to show WWF did not think of it or Earthquake McGoon from Lil'Abner. The match seems to start awkwardly with Haku busting out some flying offense. There is a neat middle portion where they have a war of headbutts. Quake matches his gigantic skull vs Haku's Tongan headbutt. Quake is careful to headbutt Haku in the gut and chest. Haku wises up and blocks with his head. We get some beautiful suplexes from Quake as Haku musters a comeback. It has the body press into power slam finish that I have grown to dislike. Up there with the bridging suplex but victim has his shoulder up and the Bret/Piper sleeper finish. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I would have thought.
  17. Well you know the numbers are shrinking every year. Credit to Vince, he exploited three great years better than anyone.
  18. Now I am running cooler. Lets start with Sweet Georgia Brown. That never should have even went to press. We have a second hand account from her daughter, which is questionable under the best circumstances. If only because Brown is dead. Then her son comes out and says its not true. Which does not mean it did not happen. But it means we have no idea what happened one way or another. At the very least Brown's other children should have been questioned for the article. Maxxine hates Moolah and rightly so. But right off the bat, it makes her testimony questionable. That said she never said Moolah made an issue of it when Maxxine did not. Finally you have the thing with Luna. Which is the only thing close to concrete we have against Moolah The Pimp/Human Trafficker. But this boils down to Moolah irresponsibly sending a teen into an adult situation. Which is nothing to gloss over. Combined with the child endangerment charges Moolah faced decades earlier. It only adds to the case of Moolah being a greedy piece of garbage. But adds nothing to the pimping charges, which is what the Twitter mob based their entire case on. Which for an unruly mob, it was a good strategy. You trump up a scandalous story, pressure a sponsor on a time sensitive matter, knowing WWE and Snickers are not going to investigate. Even if it falls apart later, the damage was done. Moolah herself would applaud it.
  19. Last is a lot better than Alice and whoever that other guy was. He knows wrestling and knows when to contribute. He is much better than Conrad, who ranges from useless to a hindrance on his shows. But that is a common problem on wrestling podcasts. Even under great circumstances, the co host is the worst part. Its like the new characters in a sequel series. Nobody is watching for them, you just hope they stay out of the way, I think if something serious happened with MLW, Corny would have motherfucked them too. Without Cornette or a strong guest, Bolin is not very good. It is sad seeing him suck up to Russo, when you know he has no respect for him. Reading between the lines, I don't think Last wanted Bolin's son and daughter in law monopolizing so much time.
  20. Here is a what if from a strictly Kayfabe in universe point of view. Over The Edge 98, what if Dude Love won the title and Vince successfully keeps Austin from getting a rematch. At this stage of the McMahon character, can he walk away?
  21. Look at how good Shiek was at selling,
  22. I will get to the rest later. But a lot of fans don't really care about the wrestlers. People think Vince paying for rehab but not surgery is Vince providing for the boys. Not getting the selfish motives behind it. He pays for rehab he 1. Looks like a good guy for helping a lowly drug addict. 2. Prevents WWE from looking bad if a guy dies young. But if he paid for a guys surgery, it implies wrestling is dangerous and he holds some responsibility. I will get to the rest later. I am too worked up over the pay shit.
  23. The sad thing is, that robbing your employees (Indentured servants is closer) is not enough to get people to care. We all know why WWE would not care. But the fans aren't much better.
  24. In March the attitude was Moolah was a human trafficker. Now that these allegations have proven less than airtight, goal posts are being moved. Maxxine's story would qualify as conjecture. If you put what Maxxine said with what Luna said, the guy was a creepy doctor who liked taking nude pics of lady wrestlers. At no point is it said Moolah forced anyone to go. She presented it as a way to make extra money. With Victoria you would have a story if she faced negative consequences for beating up the kraut. But it appears she didn't and she would have every reason to say so. I feel sick defending the old bag. I just don't see why people are clinging to the more questionable by the day pimping charges, when there are concrete shitty things she did. The cynical part of me thinks it is because, a promoter ripping off workers is not good clickbait. That said, Nigel is being paid by WWE right? Having him do the research so if she is cleared, they can use her image, but if its confirmed their hands are clean.
  25. I unsubscribed when Vince donated 6 million to a politician while guys are having to use Gofundme for surgeries. While truthfully I was also having issues with the service. I was getting error messages on classic content a lot and it never seemed to happen with original programming. They were also taking forever uploading stuff they digitized years ago. They gave me three months free last year to entice me to come back. Which I took the offer and canceled. But it does seem like they have at least addressed my service issues.
