I don't get why Dandy was involved since the feud was mostly Casas/Santo? Having said that, Bloody Santo vs injured Dandy was awesome.

Just a great match. I wouldn't call it the greatest match of all time. I liked that the match had no down time at all and the crowd was hot throughout. Having said that, It's not even the best match on the disc. I liked the 2nd Santo tag better. That might be the Lucha mark in me and not really loving the All Japan 90's style.

Kruger here reminds me of Strongman in modern day CMLL. The guy is huge in a small man's world and almost kills Ikeda with a clothesline.

This was pretty awesome. Kinda funny how much heat this got compared to the Dragon match. Yakushiji like Loss said is the best thing about this match. His dives and just the way he moves is better than most everyone in this match. The Dragoncito type dive into the 3rd row was nuts.

[1996-12-01-Inoki Festival] Ultimo Dragon vs Gran Naniwa
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in December 1996
This had some nutty dives and high flying moves to the outside but the crowd killed it. It was like the opposite of the LA show.- 10 replies

How do you self-identify as a wrestling fan?
Tim Evans replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Megathread archive
I think the only thing that has changed for me from when I first started watching wrestling(1995) to now is I just have more options to watch. Back in the day, My friends and I were huge WWF marks and that was really the only wrestling we watched. I started getting into WCW for the Luchadors in 96 and I was a huge fan of Randy Savage and still am. Now in 2011, I watch more wrestling now than I did when you had hundreds of hours of stuff on cable. You got Lucha on the computer, WWE shows, WWC, Youtube, Will's DVDS etc. I've also gone to more shows now than ever. Just bought a ticket to go to Smackdown on May 3rd. When Wrestling was really hot, I only went to maybe 2 shows a year. Just this year, I've been to at least 7. -
[1996-11-24-WCW-World War III] Rey Misterio Jr vs Ultimo Dragon
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in November 1996
Dragon looked real good in it but this was basically a squash and the announcers basically admitted it. Really liked the finish.- 18 replies

[1996-11-24-WCW-World War III] 60-man battle royal
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in November 1996
Man his Total Package run was just awful. He was never the same after joining the Wolfpac and started to wear Jeans. I liked this match. Regal looked badass and Giant's one handed throw of Rey was incredible. Was this the match where they had 3 different sets of announcer calling the action?- 12 replies

I actually liked it. Yeah there was a lot of laying on the match. Usually hate that but it works here cause Gourdeau kept on hitting his opponent while in a hold trying to get out of it. Sano took a hell of a beating.

Real good match with Santo just being pure evil. The way he reacts to a fan throwing a drink at him is great. I think something like this is the only way he can actually return to CMLL.

So from tonight's Observer Radio, Miz has officially turned into the new "Junkfood" dog. It tops the Orton babyface hate. Dave was in rare form tonight with his hate. Bryan and him dissing Sin Cara cause his entrance wasn't "flashy" enough was funny.

He OD'd twice in Japan a couple years before this and was never the same.

I also liked this match. Kawada took a beating and Williams/Ace did a good job. Also liked Taue's selling. What building was that they were in? Never seen it before.

I was down on Han to start the year but he's really impressed me the past couple matches. He's like Cena in the overcome the odds deal.

Good angle but it really didn't make sense to me at the time. I mean, Hall and Nash powerbombed Bischoff through a table and he got no revenge.

What was with Dave saying the Hall of fame thing at Mania was "too short" and didn't feature the inductors? It was pretty much what it usually is and they never include the inductors.
-
I'm just glad JR and King are back calling the last 4 matches. They make Mania feel special. Especially during the Taker match.

Being there live to see Flair "retire" was great. But I kinda liked the atmosphere in the stadium during Orton/Cena/HHH. That was just insane.

You can see Austin get more and more comfortable in his character here. This was a nice match and total brawl. Does that sign say Fuck in the vidcap?

[1996-11-17-WWF-Survivor Series] Shawn Michaels vs Sid
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in November 1996
It's kinda funny that HBK got the reaction Cena gets now in places like Chicago/NYC. The difference is Cena can take it in stride while HBK looks like he was going to cry. And that finish was just awful. Why did Sid take so long hitting Jose with the Camera?- 20 replies

[1996-11-17-WWF-Survivor Series] Bret Hart vs Steve Austin
Tim Evans replied to a topic in November 1996
Pretty much what Loss said. The thing I really love about the match is the commentary. JR does a real great job putting over Austin as a big time star. Is this US match of the year? I think it's close.- 18 replies

I'd almost rather see the clipped version than this. Just so much downtime from Ace and Doc. The last 5 to 10 minutes were good though.

USA would probably never allow it. Plus you already have jobbers on the show like JTG, Trent Barretta and sadly, Chris Masters.

[1996-11-04-WWF-Raw] Steve Austin-Brian Pillman confrontation
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in November 1996
I loved this when I first saw it and I still like it. Too bad it didn't lead to anything but I think it was worth it. Still not as bad as the Liz/Golberg rape thing in 99 or Sandman getting crucified on a cross. And Lawler calling this stupid while at the same time creating Macho Warrior Rick Hogan is funny.- 12 replies
